But the beach gazebo is far enough away from where the beach party takes place that you would still have privacy, you just wouldn't have the bar right there. You should ask her if they will open the pool bar for you, that's the next closest bar.
  2. I like the first one. What about putting the wedding location on the label?

  4. So here's the dilemma, I sent STDs to everyone who would have gotten an invitation if we were doing a traditional wedding but then I only sent invites to people who were coming to the wedding and a few old people I knew would be offended if they didn't get an invite. My plan was to send announcements out when we got back (way back in April) but i'm the master procrastinator and I never did it. By the time I got our pics I was kinda over it. So is it too late?
  5. I would suggest bring your BOSE b/c the boombox they have looks pretty old and probably doesn't have anywhere to connect an ipod. We actually took our ipod and bose speakers to dinner on several nights.
  6. I let him play whatever except for the 1st dance and he was fine. The guy was a real DJ so he had everything.

  9. The mento band is good, they played outside of one of the restaurants one night. Kinda hard to explain, they have little drums and other wooden instruments and they sing a lot of Bob Marley. You might want to check Youtube, i'm sure you can find a video of them. As for the receptions, the beach and pool receptions are private. The only place you can have the free semi-private is at Mammee Bay. And i think occasionally at the Plantation if there are too many receptions to fit at Mammee Bay.

YEP! And what is really cool is Alchemy. Once you have created a profile/login you can put up a listing for custom anything under Alchemy with details of what you want and how much you want to spend and then lots of artist will send you quotes for what they can do. If your price is too low you won't get any responses, so just be realistic
  11. I'm bringing this thread back to life! I just love etsy! I've had a shop there for about a year but just recently starting adding a lot of stuff to it. There are so many DIY crafty girls on here, ya'll should really consider opening shops. anyhow, my current fav is Badass Custom Decals. They make vinyl decals for your walls that are so cool. I'm thinking of ordering our monogram to put over our fireplace. Etsy :: BadassCustomDecals :: Paisley Swirls - Flowers - Doilies - Vinyl Wall Decal - Your Choice of Color

    Hi All!

Welcome! Congrats, good things are worth waiting for!
  14. If your man can tell you a single detail he saw aside from it being white, he's either got a photographic memory or you have trained him well! I seriously doubt he will even remember that he saw the picture at all 6 months from now. Don't stress!
  15. The finale was awesome. I missed the first 15 minutes though, did Sabra perform? I was hoping to see her. Glad Josh won, he totally deserved it!
  16. Most of our guests arrived on Thursday around 2pm and only 2 out of 15 rooms were ready. When we left on Saturday around noon, there were about 5-6 bus loads of people arriving and it didn't look like any of them were able to check-in. They all were told to leave their luggage in the lobby and check back in a few hours. But you could seriously just hang out in the lobby for hours! There is a gorgeous view, a cool breeze, and frozen drinks!
  17. This was our set-up, we didn't have the chargers and blue rimmed glasses. And I had pink rose petals sprinkled on the table and some little palm tree favors at each plate You can tell there wasn't really room for centerpieces:
  18. As Lizz stated, it's a pretty short cab ride. There is a great place to eat called The Jerk Center, we ate there twice! It's not fancy AT ALL but super tasty and authentic. We paid $10pp for a van to take about 20 of our guests there and back one night for dinner. Lots of other excursions are pretty close by too- Dunns River, swimming with dolphins, botanical gardens, fern gully, horseback riding, Chuka tours-zipline & ATV (this was about 15-20 minutes away, the farthest we went). I think we paid $7 or 8 for the shopping excursion.
  19. I have only been to ROR, but I have friend who got married at the RUI Negril and she had nothing but good things to say. I found more excursions in/near Ocho Rios so that was our deciding factor.
  20. Yea Katy has perfect technique but her personality leaves something to be desired. The only reason I was glad Chelsie went home was so that Nigel would stop hitting on her. It was beginning to get a little creepy with all his comments on her legs.
  21. I'm still getting over the shock of Will going home, but I hope Joshua wins. He is a natural talent! I don't why, but I'm not a fan of any of the girls this season.
  22. I think you could have any of those people walk you down the aisle. The giving away is normally the parents, so for instance if your brother walks you down the aisle when the minister asks who gives this woman to be married, he could say "her mother and I do" or your mother could stand and say "I do" The good thing about DW is there are no rules!
