  1. Hey ladies, my gf's and I did this a few weeks ago. Yes we booked it at the resort but it was throught Coco tours which I would not at all reccommend. We felt a little mislead. It took about 1hr 45 minutes to get to a speed boat to take us to the sand bar where you swim and find starfish. The starfish are not as easily found as you would hope. Every now and then someone would find one and everyone would gather around for pics. Well our speed boat kept breaking down and we had to keep getting jump started by other boats batteries. Once we made it to Saona Island it was gorgeous. But you really get hassled about buying jewelry, coconuts and coconut oil, and getting massages. As long as you keep saying no and dont mind the constant harassment you are fine. The water is an amazing color and so is the sand. The buffett was not very good and the "open bar" included rum punch which they ran out of , rum and coke, and beer. The catamaran ride back was very nice and relaxing. If I remember correctly it was about $75 per person. Hope this helps let me know if you have other questions.
  2. I guess you need to decide whats important. If you want pics of you getting ready, the ceremony, the reception, etc that may be start to finish. Personally I dont care about pics of getting ready so that got rid of that. So if everything is on your must have shots of list then you may be for the long bill.
  3. I have to agree that it is great to share what has been going on. Constantly changing policies, a current policy of nights stay plus $500 fee is nuts. Tammy is not saying EDR is bad, just that their policy sucks. Which it certainly sounds like it does. I can understand the shock of the EDR brides when they saw a sticky saying to boycott their resorts but it is not a personal thing. It is meant to help future brides and grooms from heartache and more importantly a big PITA.

I will also bring my own decorations. Hope it works. My goodness I give you guys a lot of credit. I would never dare to try this. You go girl!
  5. Doh!!! That is too sweet of him!! Now you gotta practice your "oh for me?" face.

It is nice but gets crowded and I am convinced they need one of those moving walkways in front of the exhibits to get people going.
  7. That is crazy! What is up with people! Do they not think you have to plan for this? I would do the smaller version. I know they are a PITA for not RSVPing and all but they are making the effort to come so they should get a little something.
  8. WTF!!! I am so sorry!! That is very selfish of her!!! You are doing nothing wrong at all! She is being a snot, and thats being nice!

  12. Has anyone seen shoes that are dyeable that have a flower on top? I have seen them with a bow but no flower. I have looked high and low and so far nothing has come up. Any help in my quest would be appreciated!
  13. So sorry for your loss! I hope the wonderful memories can make you smile for years to come! You and your family are in my thoughts.
  14. May I suggest this website... Choose Chicago - the official visitors site for Chicago | Tours and attractions Millenium Park is nice to go to and see the bean and the water things that the kids and those of us kid like adults play in. Lincoln Park Zoo is free.If the Cubs are playing when you are there get some bleacher seats and go there. Nothing like a game at Wrigley.
  15. There is always Harry Connick or Wynton Marsalis for Jazz stuff. I know Wynton just did an album with Willie Nelson thay is coming out in a few months. And the obvious Jimmy Buffet for beachy music.

  19. We knew it would be Sister Hazel but we just decided this weekend which one for sure... Sister Hazel's "Everything Else Disappears" Remember to breathe Remember to hold your head high Remember to smile some And just listen a while You've practiced enough yeah That's what I told myself So I nervously asked you your name And that's when the world seemed to stop And I died when you looked up like that Took my breath away Knocked me flat on my back I knew right then and there In that first second stare It would be a while Everything falls out of focus You walk through the door And one thing that's clear to me Helplessly hopeless I'm all right with that In a room full of people Everything else disappears We talked for hours About the sun and moon How it chases her round and round It's just trying to light up her face And we sat on your car While the light from the stars Poked holes in the sky And you told me the tales of your heart And how it'd been broken And I cried when you talked about that Yeah what I would've given to take it all back for you Right then and there In that first second stare I knew we would be a while [Chorus] I thought that I'd known you forever I felt like I'd finally come home After all of these lifetimes You still take my breath away [Chorus]
