jamy, i have to post some photos for you when i get home tonight, but the island of capri (pronounced cop-ree in italian, people there get so offended if you call it capri as in how youd say capri pants haha) is amazing. different parts of the island have different kinds of beach landscapes. there was this one gorgeous beach i went to that was all rocks and no sand, but the rocks were soft and safe to walk on. will post in a couple hours!!

I worked hard for my masters, yet theres no overt way for people to know i'm a master at my craft haha actually morgan, my FI always wanted to be called Dr. (not actually be a medical one, just for people to call him that, or for him to get his PhD in something so people would call him Dr.) so 2 christmases ago when his family went on a cruise, and they asked for his name or whatever to put on his room key/card, he put "Dr. ____" so that the whole cruise the staff was calling him Dr! He got such a kick out of it that he kept the card. and boy was he pissed when i explained to him that publications wont print Dr. next to your name unless you are a real medical doctor -- phds DONT count as a Dr. salutation. but back to topic, i got really sad the other day because i realized that when i legally change my name i have to surrender my old passport and get a new one with my married name (plus pay the fee for a new one, ugh!) i have lots of cool stamps in there from when i studied abroad and i feel like it contains a record of my life's journeys. also, it will have the passport stamp from our wedding trip.... maybe ill just tell them i lost my passport and need a new one, and i can keep the old one! i am changing my name legally but not professionally. i am already established in my career with my maiden name, and in my business, your name is your brand. if people already trust your brand, and then you switch your brand name, you have to rebuild your reputation and trust with clients just as you would if you were a marketer's product. too many people in my industry know who i am since im in the public eye, so changing my name would hurt my credibility. -
you might want to check out the Pez Gato too... im considering using them, and Corey (coreyphil) is using them for her wedding next weekend. she promised a full review of Pez Gato when she gets back, so keep an eye out for that. The price she is paying is like $40/pp and includes drinks and heavy appetizers for a sunset cruise.

a whole new set of wedding dress options
Maura replied to tvt's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
tara, i think you look best in the 2nd one. i love it on you. and who cares what your mom thinks. my stepmom doesnt really like my dress, but i dont care because i LOVE it. in fact i showed my dress to FI (just not photos of me in it) and he loves it too. so dont worry about it i hunted my dress down because when i saw a photo of it i knew it was the one. then when i tried it on it was this incredible relief because i loved it just as much as i thought i would -
Cost of wedding bands
Maura replied to Nene's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
you know, you can always take your engagement ring to a custom jeweler and a printout of the matching band from the tiffany website, and they can make it for you, oftentimes 10x cheaper than buying it from the retailer (in case you decide you want a matching band instead of the mokume)... my engagement ring is based on the tiffany novo with a few custom tweaks i made and cost about 1/3 of the price...and i even got a nicer and bigger stone than the tiffany one i tried on that was about $24,000 and only 1 carat center stone. -
Cost of wedding bands
Maura replied to Nene's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
sounds high to me... but if youre set on that and can afford it, dont feel bad about it, just do it. my wedding band is coming from bluenile and is about $550 and has diamonds set all the way around it, my fi's band is also coming from bluenile and his is a plain band thats $250 -
i love the idea of doing the virtual weigh in all together, but it will clog up the forum if we do a new thread every week, and for new girls it will be hard for them to search for. its better if we keep it to this thread i think just because it wont use up more forum resources than necessary. think of all the newbies who can be inspired by our thread. we can chitchat throughout the week on here and then whatever day you weigh in, you post. i personally weigh in on friday mornings.

thanks for the tip about the edamame rebecca! i will buy some at the grocery store today. i have always been an eater for no good reason, and every once and awhile i still do it, but since i started WW its been much easier to stop because i hate counting what i put in my mouth. i need to lose 12 pounds before my dress gets here around march 24. i am 5'2" and 144 right now, which my doctor tells me is slightly overweight for my frame. my girls are large C's and i wear a pant size 8. and then after the dress arrives, id like to lose another 5-10 if possible. weight watchers has been great so far for anyone whos kinda on the fence about trying it. i lost 5 pounds in the first 3 weeks. i just dont want to look fat in my wedding photos. my tummy is the biggest problem, all my weight goes directly to it. and i have chubby upper arms when i look at photos of me in my dress from the day i bought it. i dont want any arm fat. and now that i decided to get a videographer too, the camera adds 10 pounds, ladies. ugh. sending out a MOO to all of you! we can do it together.
