  2. I bought both dresses from the store and have since referred to of my girlfriends that bought dresses there (in the past 4 months). I don't think the material is difficult- the watters is taffeta - here's the link -can't copy/save pix Watters Brides | Bridal Gown Collection | Style 1039B | Silk taffeta v-neck gown with fully draped bodice and dramatic trumpet skirt and embellished belt. Sweep train. and the Hjelms is very basic I had a freakout -bc I had everything budgeted really carefully- and though my dress budget got completely blown away- I "borrowed" from another budget. -- I cetainly didn't budget $600 for alterations... Reading that some of the other girls had $300-400 a dress helped -I guess misery loves company! Thanks girls for the input... I was tempted to pull the dresses and go somewhere else-but being 7 weeks out; would be a tad stressful...I'll def be working some overtime this summer!
  3. I felt like I got punched in the stomach after leaving my dress shop last Thursday, after my first fitting. I have 2 dresses (long story--but one is a sheath-a jim hjelms -very simple -that I'm wearing at the AHR and at the private dinner we are having the night after the wedding with guests. The actual wedding dress is more "bridal" watters dress), and my total alterations were 575! I paid $1200 for the Watters and I paid $2900 for the Hjelms.... Which was completely over my budget- and now this. They want $345 for the Watters (alterations include cups, a hem, a bustle, and it being brought in a little at the waist); the Hjelms dress was $230 for cups and a hem. Am I being robbed!??! Is this something I wasn't expecting or it this completely outrageous?!?!
  4. This forum never ceases to amaze me! Everything gets covered here-- how much do I love BDW!!!! We are leaving on May 13th for Mexico and are planning on getting ring tattoos the weekend before we leave....When we met (10 1/2 yrs ago!) neither of us had any tats and we randomly went together and got ones done-- they didn't have any connection to the person (mine was a dolphin and his a basketball) but it makes for a good story! Those are still the only tats we have-I have finally convinced him to do this! I'll post pix afterwards...
  5. WOW--- your BMs will LOVE everything-- this all looks awesome!! and for the record, I've never been a huge fan of crocs- but a lady at work yesterday had those "mary jane" styles ones- in black -SUPER CUTE!! Everything looks great!!
  6. Thanks Bre!! and how jealous am I that you lived in Hawaii!?!!!? I've been debating about the programs- it's been stressing me out a lil bit- so I'm leaning to just letting it be,not doing the programs- and just making sure the cd's with the music are clearly labeled and adding a song during the signing stuff... We are having a pretty small crowd- so it shouldn't make a difference...Thanks so much!!! PS- I told Valeria how excited I was after seeing your photos and she told me to tell you she was waiting for pix- so if you haven't sent her the link! :)-- how sweet is she!?!

Plus, if you are getting married on the beach, you want to hear the sound of the ocean! Hey Bre-how long was the signing of the documents? I didn't think about playing a song for that, but it does make sense- could you post a picture of your programs for ceremony?-- trying to get a feel for the ceremony outline...
  8. Hey guys-- I think the symbolic ceremony outline has been posted here- but I'm looking for brides that have done the legal ceremony at EDR that could post an outline, or their ceremony program? I am trying to DIY my programs for the wedding ceremony, and would love some help with how it is going to flow with the legal wedding ceremony... Thanks, in advance, for any help!!!
