  1. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I am printing it out now to read. I have been waiting to hear about your experience. Thanks for posting. Shandra

Well, hopefully she will accept the 'discount' the TA is going to offer her. I don't think pride is her issue, I think it is her not wanting to take money from me.

Carly mentioned the photos at Beaches were not fabulous so....
  4. I had two couples going with us for the wedding. These were my closest friends and their husbands. I did not expect them to be able to go when we first decided to have a DW. I was so excited to find out they were able to go. Well, something happened over the Winter and one couple had to cancel. I was bummed, but knew I still had the other couple going. (also my daughter, mom and aunt are going). Well, my "other couple" called Friday and said they couldnt come. They could use the $ to pay down their debt (blaming me b/c I have been talking to them about fincances -ugh, me and my big mouth). This completely sucks. To have your 2 best friends say they can come see you get married, then both of them having to cancel. The friend who just called Friday was gonna do my hair, make up, and pics. Now, I have to re-evaluate everything. I called the travel agent to see if he could offer her a "discount" if she was able to still come. I dont know if would be enough of a "discount", but if so, Paul and I will pay it to have her there (she would never accept the $ from us). I figured I could offer what I would have to pay to have the things done that she was going to do. My relationship with my friends is so very different than the one I have with my mom. I love my mom and am glad she is able to be there, but she is so unable to do these things for me. When Paul and I decided to have a DW, we went into it thinking no one was going to be able to come. Then both of my friends booked and I was overjoyed. Now, both of them had to cancel. It sucks! It would not have been as painful if I hadnt gotten my hopes up. Sorry for such a long post, but I know you ladies would let me vent without thinking I was a horrible, selfish person...I simply want my friends to stay in debt so they can see me get married! (just kidding...I completely understand, but it still sucks!)
  5. You are stunning! Great pics and thanks for sharing, although I hope to get more pics since we are location twins I am very impressed with how it all looked, the parasols, the sand ceremony, your dress - just beautiful. I love your veil, exactly what I am looking for!
  6. Enjoy every minute of it, it will be beautiful. Have a blast and remember to take lots of pics (and notes for me -lol).
  7. OMG! It is hard to believe you day is almost here. You and I are the minority on this board (well, our location anyway) and to see all of your stuff together...it is just breath-taking. You will have a beautiful wedding, Matt will have a beautiful wife, and I cant wait to see some beautiful pics of Boscobel. Good luck, girl, you deserve it. I wish you all the best.
  8. I am a September bride too, September 1. I have: dress groomswear wedding/honeymoon location airline tickets OOT Bags confirmed all guests ....what else I don't guess I have anything else to do. I am keeping it simple. I am not doing a reception there. There will only be 7 of us so we will just go to one of the restaurants (AI resort). I am done, well, except for toning up so I look good in my dress. I found that if I hang around on this site too much (no intention of offending anyone), I get caught up in all the planning and I want to then do more. I chose a DW so it would be simple. I love this place but you ladies are so talented and skilled (many of you should be WC/planners yourselves) you make me want to bite off more than I am able to chew.
  9. My situation is the opposite. Wedding is at Beaches and guests at Sandals. They are down the road from each other and will just need to take a cab to come over to Beaches. Sorry, no transportation included.

I can't believe how soon your wedding is.
  11. Here is my booklet. Some of it was downloaded from somewhere (if it is yours, I would love to give you credit). Other info I downloaded from FAA and airport sites. Travel Booklet.doc
  12. Welcome to the forum. I am getting married down the street at Beaches Boscobel on September 1, 2008, then honeymooning at Sandals Grande.
  13. **having trouble with this posting but hopefully it will not post more than once** Wanted to share this. It may come in handy throughout planning (or in daily life with grocery lists, etc). Create your re:PocketMod
  14. Wow! Those look great. Looks like you had a wonderful time.
  15. Congratulations! Everything looks wonderful. You were stunning!
  16. Your stuff looks great! Congratulations and have a great time.

He said the bamboo was like 10 feet tall...so I figure that wouldnt fit in my suitcase
  18. I like arches 6 & 11 but dont know if we can swing it. I wanna do the beach wedding but may just have to do it without the arch (ugh) or do it on that pier gazebo. I thought the idea of DW's was to narrow our decisions!!!
  19. Carly, thanks for the info, but it sucks. I guess it helps me that I am only having 5 guests so maybe they will choose to stand. I dont know if I want an arch or not...I go back and forth....my ultimate decision will be based on the price.
  20. Welcome to the board. Happy Planning!
  21. Congratulations. You have done some wonderful things....love your dress. I have your white flip flops, but mine are in black (not for my wedding -lol). Love your OOT bags and stuff....love it all. Have fun.
  22. OMG! Everything, everything was absolutely beautiful. You look amazing. The two of you look so happy. Congratulations!
  23. Have you tried contacting a travel agent? They tend to get faster responses and mine got me a reduced rate.
