We were very comfortable with her (and we both take some pretty bad pics, haha). Betsy - I wasn't hot at all, we had a nice breeze coming in so I think that might've helped. I did get hot at the disco, but I think that was the dress not the hair. The only issue I had was trying to keep my hair our of my face for pictures - but it was fun! Thanks that is a big relief! Hope she makes us look as fabulous and relaxed as you both did.

Beautiful pictures cant wait to see more!!! You cant tease us like that, please show us more LOL!! The details on your dress are amazing. We have booked with Citlalli as well, your pics are getting me excited for the big day! How was Citlalli to work with? Did you feel comfortable? I take such bad photographs so I want to be relaxed.

Definately go for the song that makes you happy its your wedding day. I will be walking down the aisle to the instrumental version of Clocks by Coldplay. Ok so maybe someone can help me out Im confused by the processional, recessional, etc and how many songs I need to have, how long, etc. Can someone explain any of this to me or point me in the right direction.

Good Morning! I was wondering if anyone has a clear understanding of how long the reception lasts? I know the cocktail with the Fantasy package is 1 hour and I believe 30min with the other packages but I havent seen any clear indication about the length of the reception. 3hrs, 4hrs? Has anyone spoken to the WC's about this?

Everything looks great! You are def. on tops of things. Where did you get the map of PV? Im having trouble finding them for the Cancun/Playa del Carmen area. -
I havent seen anything about a contract either and my wedding is in 3 months should I be worried?? For some reason I got the impression a contract was given to those who booked the group rates through the hotel, for the discounts on dinner etc. I have to email Perla about a few things so I will include this in my email as well. Let me know if any of you hear anything.

Congrats and welcome back!! Sounds like you had a great time and so did your guests. You must post pix when you get things up and running. How upset was your FI on losing the ring? -

Melissa you can definately bring in your own vendors just be aware that you will have to pay an additional $300 for any outside vendors. Ridiculous if you ask me, apparently a lot of resorts do this. They actually only use to charge the day/night pass fees but things changed for 2008. Maybe there is a way to get around this but I couldnt find one.

Hi I was able to attach the price brochure but not the song list it says invalid file. Please keep in mind the price brochure may be outdated for 2009 as prices keep changing on a yearly basis and I swear in some cases monthly. If you want to see a copy of the song list just PM me. Monika did use them. Overall she was pretty happy I believe its in her wedding review. FI and I have booked with Victor from Swank. He was very helpful in answering all our questions and sent us the playlist they have. We still have to send him our playlist but thats FI's job since Im musically challenged. IMO Ive noticed all of the vendors the Paradisus recommends comes with a large $$$ tag. The cost of the DJ blew my mind when we can get one in New York for half that (that could be b/c we know a few of DJ's). I think I have the packages Victor sent I will look for them and post in a bit.

We do plan on having children and I get this question all the time...."but your kids will have a different last name then you won't that bother you?" And my answer to that is....half the kids have different last names from their children due to divorce and remarriage and if it doesn't bother me why should it bother anyone else. I have lots of clients who are professionals and they never changed their names and their children carry their father's last name. I love my name and my family traditions and am proud of what my family represents and my family traditions and would never consider being something that I'm not! I'm marrying Tim not becoming his property. Our children will have his last name because they are part of him. We are partners in a marriage and that doesn't require me to change my name. That's just how I feel everyone is entitled to their own opinions and reasons for changing or not changing. I agree with you, marriage is 100% a partnership and filled with compromise. I know this sounds cheesy but I love my last name and that it represents who I am and I feel by me completely changing it that gets lost and I become someone else or property of someone else and that just isn't me. I told my FI I would compromise and hyphenate but that he would have to do the same he looked at me like I had four eyes. I don't think I was asking for anything unreasonable he is asking me to change something important in my life but he wouldn't do that for me. That is insulting and hurtful. So obviously compromise went out the window and we are each keeping our own last names. -
Any one else NOT changing their last name?

Ive heard of couples combining their names and couples changing their middle names to their maiden names like Barefootbride is doing. I think we would have a pretty odd sounding last name if we combined I cant come up with anything that sounds good. I can barely pronounce it properly LOL. -
I know its a matter of personal opinion...but...I never pictured myself changing my last name. My mother hyphenated hers but 99% of the time she continues to use her maiden, maybe its that or maybe its my feminist side taking over. I just cant picture changing my name, the name I've always had, the one everyone knows me by or doing something that my FI would never consider doing himself in return. He got really bent out of shape about me keeping my maiden name and after the argument I was fully insulted that he wouldnt even consider changing his to mine. Thats right my feminist side took over big time but I have every right to ask of him what he is asking of me. Im curious is there any meaning behind changing your last names personal or otherwise?

OHHH NOO....Girl Scout Cookies are HERE!!
nenamono replied to JessicaM's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
OMG OMG OMG you just made me the happiest girl alive. I love girl scout cookies so much last year there was no one at work with a child in Girl Scouts. This left me with a big frown b/c I wanted my cookies!!! Well a girl has to do what a girl has to do I went straight to the New York headquarters and ordered myself as many boxes as I liked hehehehe I even shared in on the fun with my co-workers. Needless to say the trip during lunch included several of us lugging back bags on the subway but oh it was soooooo worth it. Im heading there again this year if I can they dont disappoint.
