  1. Hi Ladies ~ The FI and I are going to PV for a site visit in two weeks (9-16th). We are getting married at Casa Macumba next February but are staying at Dreams (YAY!) for the visit. So . .if there is anything you would like for me to find out or take pictures of at either of those places please let me know and I will put it on the to do list. We are also meeting with the Wedding Planner (Priscilla of PrisarVallarta) so if you have any questions about her please let me know. Hope all are well!!
  2. brilliant site. tote bags: 99 cents. sunblock: 97 cents. travel mug: a little over a dollar. first aid kits: dollar. . thank you so much!
  3. oh. sorry . . the embosser and one plate (one design) is 64.95 but i definitely think you will have it forever and the best part is you can get additional plates made over the years . . . initials, birth announcements . . whatever you can think of.
  4. Hi guys. I'm not a regular poster but I HAD to share this with you . . . we submitted design ideas to an embosser/stamp maker and they came back to us with the cutest logos. They are going to put it on a stamp (so we can stamp invitations, gifts, loot bags) and they are going to do a more classic version for an embosser so we can emboss all of our thank you notes and later correspondance (great keepsake). This is site: Wilshire Graphic Press - Embossers, Rubber Stamps, and Stickers Attached are the proofs they sent (FYI -- the D squared thing is because we are dara & darren. . . silly, I know.) 5. I just started receiving some of the catering options from the potential WC and i know what you mean -- BORING! I would be much happier with an actual taco stand at the villa then caprese salad. Anyway, I would love to know more about your process of picking a villa, WC and caterer. I saw that you are in SF -- I'm in pac heights till end of May if you want to join forces for a little while. Best of luck! Dara dsquaredwedding@yahoo.com
  6. I don't know you . . but I am absolutely positive you are NOT A FAT COW. It is actually not even possible. Now . .you may feel fat and you may have more weight on you than you want and that I understand. Probably we all can. Listen ..all this wedding stuff and the pressure to be "perfect and beautiful" for this one day is absolutely ridiculous and it takes its toll on even the most "together" of brides-to-be. As for my advice, for what its worth . .I believe thoughts influence feelings and feelings often control our eating and/or how we look. For example -- happy thoughts = happy mood= less emotional eating = feel good about self= others look at you and think, 'damn that girl looks good.' People rarely look at people that are depressed and negative about themselves and say, "that girls is hot." doesn't really happen. So . .yes, find healthy eating habits that work for you. Don't deprive yourself though it will backfire. Excercise in whatever way works for you. And try your best to concentrate on your strengths because I assure you they are there! For more on this whole "positive psychology" thing and if you want to take a strengths survey to identify your own strengths I suggest: :: Authentic Happiness :: Using the new Positive Psychology Good Luck!
  7. i realize that you posted this forever ago but i'm just finding it now and it is BRILLIANT! i am so excited. i don't know if i'll ever go to a hotel again. viva la villa! thank you!
  8. I'm going to write the very short version of this story: I came home after a long trip visiting the parents. Needless to say I was exhausted and running around the apt trying to get ready for the week and cook dinner. Darren told me he had something to show me in the closet. I asked if it could wait. He told me it couldn't. So I left the stove on and went into the bedroom. I went inside the closet (btw its not really a walk-in. it's rather small) and just kind of looked at him aimlessly. He started talking (sort of babbling) about how his dad proposed to his mom 40 years ago this week in a closet. At this point I am thinking: Is this really happening? Is he really going to propose in this closet? On a Sunday night? Then I tuned back in and he was talking about how his parents have had this amazing relationship and how great it would be for us to start off the same way. It was then that he reached into his pocket and got down on his knee and I just sort of lost it. The rest is actually a little blurry. But I do know that the fire alarm went off in the kitchen so I must have left the sauce simmering for quite a while. While it was far from the moonlit proposal that Hollywood taught me about I wouldn't change a thing about it. It was unprecedented in sweetness and simplicity and for that I am smitten forever.
