  1. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for all of your responses & support....After how I felt last night, I tell you, I don't know what I would do without you guys & BDW...SNIFFLE, SNIFFLE. Its definitely a comfort to know that I am not alone and to know that this isn't an issue that only I am going thru. I mean it sucks that many of us are going thru this but its good to have such a great support group. As so many of you have said, this has truly shown me who my friends really are. Its just amazing that you can have a friend who you are the closest in the world to, who backs out, but a friend that you're not as close to says "they wouldn't miss it for the world' and puts their deposit down. I guess this is what I didn't expect. So I now look at all my friends a little differently. Especially those who I know that I've been there for thru thick & thin. The problem is how do I get this to not affect what I do & don't do for them in the future? I don't think I'll ever forget those that backed out & I'll always have that thought in the back of my mind when it comes to supporting them & their future events. FI has already said that he will definitely keep this in mind!!!! I really couldn't sleep last night with thinking about what we should have, could have done. Maybe we should have chosen another location, another time frame, etc. But ofcourse, I heard my FI's voice in my head saying that no matter where we chose we prob would have had the same thing happen. We can't focus on making everyone happy, we have to focus on our happiness. So here I am, feeling better as I read your responses. It still a bit sad but in the end, I know I'll get thru this and like many of you said I'm starting to feel that less is more & I'll enjoy a smaller turnout anyway. Because of everyone who has posted their wonderful pictures of their weddings, I keep picturing me & my FI on our day, smiling the way that so many of them have, knowing that we will have the times of our lives and all of this drama won't even be a thought!!! Thanks again for hearing me out and being wonderful women!!! Here's to you guys for keeping me sane!!!!
  2. I understand why you would be upset. That seems like a major glitch to not inform you that there would be some kind of change to the chapel when you booked. However, it really isn't that bad. I agree that as a guest I probably wouldn't pay much attn to it. I think all of the attn will be on you & your wedding party. If it really bothers you I'd see how it would look covered up. I hope you work something out that makes you feel better about it.
  3. SIGH/UGH.....I am so disappointed with my guest responses. First, my potential MOH found out she was pregnant & after doing research figures that she shouldn't fly while pregnant. She'd be about 7 mos at the time of my wedding. I was extremely upset but got over it because I am happy for her. Let me correct that, I'm not completely over it but I do understand that she has to do whats best for her & the baby. So, as our deadline is approaching for guests to make their reservations, I've received calls within minutes of each other, from friends who I just KNEW would be traveling with us who ofcourse CAN'T MAKE IT. UGHHHHHHHHHH.... Keep in mind, a large amount of FAMILY on both of our sides can't make it either because they still live in the rock age & refuse to venture out beyond the state in which they live. Everyone has their reasons, but basically its just that the timing is wrong & finances play a part as well. With each phone call I found myself on the phone listening to them, thinking . Once they said they couldn't make it but would be there with us in spirit, all I wanted to do was get off of the phone. I mean, I know that we'd have some people who couldn't attend but I had no idea it would be as many as it is. So here I am, annoyed, disappointed, frustrated, upset. I decided to breakdown & tell my mom & FI how I'm feeling via a 3 way phone conversation. Their bottom line: FORGET WHO CAN'T MAKE IT. My FI said that as long as he & I are there, along with our parents, no one else matters. Now I know this in my heart and keep thinking about the WONDERFUL time that I KNOW we will have with those who are joining us. I keep replaying what my FI & mom have said and am feeling 75% better. But there's that 25%of me that is still filled with stinky feelings! I know I'll get over it eventually but its hard. Afterall, we didn't plan this for our guests, we planned it for us and its what we wanted to do. So I guess in the end thats all that matters. I guess I'll sleep on it & hopefully wake up with a renewed sense of something!! Thanks for letting me go on & on.
  4. Thanks for that info Cali & Jerrzygirl. I'll make a note of that.
  5. I'll know what their process is when I call first thing in the morning. Its driving me crazy. I'd love nothing more than to bring it home to stare at for the next few weeks, because the thought of it finally in but still in the store worries me. What if they sell it to someone else by mistake? What if it gets damaged? I know these are all far stretches, but hey, I'm in anxiety mode now that I know the dress is here. LOL! And with bringing it home until its time for alterations would worry me cuz I'd hate to have something happen to it while in my house. SIGH....I don't know why I'm in crazy mode cuz I'm sure its gonna wind up staying at the store. I guess the excitement of knowing that its finally in is whats killing me. Thanks for your responses.
  6. So I'm on Flickr checking out your pics. First, your dress was BEAUTIFUL. Love the blue around the waist!!! The 2 girls, I guess your flower girls & your bridesmaid...LOVED their dresses & colors too. Everything looks sooo nice. You guys look like you had a ball. Then I got to the pic of the guy in the blue bathing suit taking pictures....FUNNY!!!
  7. Welcome back & Congratulations!!!! Thanks so much for sharing your experience. It definitely makes me look forward to my day. Its great to know that everything went well and that you had a wonderful time. Can't wait to see your pics!!!!
  8. We'll be in Jamaica for 6 days, then coming home for 2 days (I think) then going to Hawaii for 10 days.

I can't for the life of me figure out why the sizes run soooo small and why wedding gowns aren't your real dress size. It's ridiculous to me. But then, I guess if they were your real size, there wouldn't be any need for alterations which as we all know are a big, big, expense!!! Anyway, don't be depressed. We all have our problems/issues. Even with the 10 that I ordered, I knowww its gonna be hard for me to breathe since I have done absolutely nothing to get lose the inches I needed to around my waist/tummy area. You may not be able to lose your pounds by tomorrow, but you still have time.
  11. From my experience, dress sizes run larger than your regular size. I'm a size 6 & the dress that I ordered is a size 10!!! I could have even used a 12 but figured if I lost a few pounds the 10 would be good. Hope you have fun tomorrow. Don't forget the camera!
  12. Ok ladies, I have a question for those of you who's dresses have arrived. I just got a message saying that my dress is in & that I need to call back & schedule a "try on". She also stated that if I already have my alteration appts to keep them because those are separate from my try on appt. Now my question is this: When I go to try on the dress, after that, do I take it home with me, or does it stay in the store? My 1st alteration appt is in February so I thought I'd be bringing it home with me. One of my friends said that they kept her dress until her alteration appt & she didn't take it home until it was done. I had no idea thats what the process was. I thought I'd be taking it home with me to stare at until February! I am going to call the store in a few minutes but I just wanted to know what was your process?

(and budget) But I absolutely LOVE the first dress... it just felt right when I put it on and it has the corset back that I wanted! Quick question on the sample sale... is that something offered by the company or by the bridal shops? And how do you find out if and when they are offering them? The bridal shop usually has sample sales. They usually advertise them in the store or on their website. If your shop doesnt have a website, why not just give them a call & ask them. Also, try other bridal shops in your area to see if they are going to have any. When they announce a sample sale, they usually don't tell you if the dress that you're looking for will be included in the sale. You just have to show up & hope that it is. Again, your dress may not be on sale right away but I think that there is a good chance that you can get it on sale within the year as designers are always coming out with "new collections". And when stores get the new collections in, they have to make room for them so they put the "old collection" dresses in the sample sale. Sorry for the longgg explanation! LOL! Hope I helped.
  14. My dress is ivory. The choices were White, Ivory or Champagne but since the dress that I tried on was ivory, I went with that because it looked great with my complexion.
  15. Beautiful dress! Also love the veil! Congrats on finding "the one"!
  16. Welcome & Congratulations! There is so much info on here & the ladies are more than helpful. You'll definitely find everything you need.
  17. YOU GUYS ARE LIFESAVERS! And I agree with Pouchie...YOU GUYS ROCK!
  18. A tough choice as both dresses are really pretty. But, I think dress #1 gets my vote. I love the detail & it looks amazing on you! If you really love it but the price is holding you back, how about trying to wait for a sample sale? Since you have a year to go I'm thinking that its very likely to be on sale at some point. A dress that I was interested in was in the designers Fall 2006 collection & was part of a sample sale this past summer. It was half off!!!!
  19. Mo, I'm so sorry to hear about all that has been happening over the last few days. I know its easier said than done but just try to stay strong. No one ever wants to lose someone that they love. Just keep thinking of all the great times you've had with your Mommom and keep those in your heart.
  20. Those pics look great! You guys were all smiles!!! Loved your dress & can't wait to see more! Thanks for the tease.
  21. Those are really cute! I ordered my STD magnets & Oversized Postcards from Vista & I absolutely LOVED how they came out. The quality was great. And ofcourse the best thing was that they were free.
  22. You don't know how many times a day I get that stinky message. When it happens I just hit the back key & I have to try to view that page again. I can't figure out why it happens but I know it happens to me alot.
