Ladies, I am getting married SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went to my final fitting on Saturday and got mom to snap these pics of me JUST for you guys! Jorge kept trying to use my camera all weekend and I kept figuring out sly ways for him not to see it/use it until I could upload these for you guys! The dress is currently at my parents' house. I cannot believe I leave in three days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It does have a bustle but I didn't take any pics w/ it. LOL. Maura, The shower looks like it was great fun! I love the tea party theme! And the dog is sooo cute She was all "superstar mode." lol. Ladies, Jorge finally got ties (two, lol) and THREe pairs of shoes. I was like, WHY? He has two pairs of sandals and some sharp white ones for the reception. I can't believe I'm getting married Saturday! It's nuts. His parents leave tomorrow for DR!

Kat, I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooo sorry!!! Your sis could have at LEAST had the decency to tell you she wasn't coming, especially since she's seen you EVER SINGLE DAY for the last two weeks and had planned to go shopping for dresses with you tomorrow! WTF?!!! How rude! At this point, just let it roll off your shoulders because getting more upset (eventhough I would understandably be pissed too) is gonna make you feel worse.... As for the fam, just tell them, Look it can take up to 6 weeks to get those suckers (passports) so GET ON IT! This means a LOT to me.. IT's MY WEDDIng!!!! That should get them going. Sidenote: Most of the people on my guest list that applied got theirs in just a week or two, so whew, that is good news, but they really should get on it. At this point though, try to just remain calm and realize that you cannot make anyone do what they don't want to. Either way you are going to have a BLAST VACATIOn and a WONDERFUL wedding despite who is there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sending you HUGE hugs!!!

Hey chica.. While I haven't been on it personally, one of my friends has. She had REALLY bad acne, I mean, awful, and her face is crystal clear now. Perfect skin. So it def works. Good luck

Katrina, I just had my shower this weekend and am still getting gifts in the mail, with the wedding next weekend. I'm going to wait to send Thank yous until after we get back from the wedding, that way I can t hank everyone for the gifts, as well as the ones who came to the wedding & gave gifts. I figure if I do it all at once, my head will be screwed on straight and I will forget less. So right now I have a list with all the names written down of who gave me a gift and what it was and at the wedding, I will write down who came to send a Thank you to them for that. AH! You are getting close, girl!

Hey Heather, While I'm not marrying at your resort, I am doing the symbolic ceremony at mine in DR. We didn't want to deal with translation, waiting for a couple of days beforehand, and ONE judge in the entirety of Punta Cana (meaning his schedule depended on when we'd get married). So we decided to have our civil ceremony here, and have our marriage blessed there by our pastor. We're flying him down there. It's so much easier and we're saving about $600-$700 just on the difference of the package (symbolic) this way and it includes EVERYTHING the wedding package does!

My family is HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE. I have NEVER wanted a huge wedding. This was one of the reasons for me wanting to have a DW, because I knew it'd be smaller. LOL. We are paying for it ourselves, as well. My mother kept and still tries to pull the, Well you should invite so-and-so, even with us being 9 days away. Um, no. It's our wedding. You are not obligated to give her a guest list. You and FI make your own guest list and send your own invitations. Why does she need to see it at all? That is ridiculous. PLUS, keep in mind, not everyone will come to a DW due to expenses, travel, etc. And another thing, sometimes the people you swear will come, are the ones who are the first to tell you they aren't coming at all.

My bachelorette party was Friday night. My girlfriends all met at my house and told me to dress up and the rest of the night was a surprise. They took me downtown for dinner and then for dancing and drinks. They did make me wear this hilarious get up that was SO embarassing at first but then kind of funny. When we walked into the restaurant, everyone in it started applauding and WOO-HOOing. It was so funny: Check out this hilarious 50-carat bling ring they got me: And the bridal shower... the theme was an M&M party (Mini Skirts and Moustaches) so everyone had to wear either/or, and it was also mixed-gender: J and I: My sis had these M&Ms made with our names, the wedding date, and Punta Cana, dR on them: The ladies:

I had my engagement ring dipped in rhodium so I won't be wearing it again til Wed of next week when we leave. I want it to be so sparkly. And YOU KNOW that I hid them immediately in a safe place (but not before I made him try on his ring , because it was sized) and said, Look at it long and hard before I hide it from you til the ceremony since you lost the last one. LOL. We are getting close ladies. I'm going to post my party pics up and share them with you.

Abbie, you've gotta post pics of your hair trial! Well I was hit yesterday with a WTF moment when I looked at my calendar and realized I'll be getting married next week! Yippee kay yay! I am so stoked. 1.5 year of planning is almost about to be realized! And random: my period is supposed to start next week so I'm going to forego my 'sugar/reminder' pills next week & start a new pack instead. I hope this will make me skip my period. The nurse said it would. SO not wanting to be on my . on the Big Day. It's supposed to start the day before!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I, personally, would not do it. But that is just me. In one week, we have FI's bday, my Bday, our anniversary, AND Valentine's day. SO if we added one more thing, my head would explode. LOL. Just make sure you both agree to it and then ti's all good.

I say, go with your instinct. If you are nervous about getting married there, then don't do it. I also read that review and cannot beleive that ANY resort would cancel somebody's wedding AND charge them for NOT even using a judge. That is beyond ridiculous. I stayed at Riu Bachata (in DR) last year and the service was HORRIBLE. Granted, I have stayed at another Riu and the service was fine there but I wouldn't get married there. The thing is, while the resort ay be nice, the bottom line is that if the WC can't do her job or is going to be a colossal b* about things, then it may be best to have your wedding elsewhere. Now, if you've had nothing but great rapport with her and she has told you UP FRONT what she's charging you, not cancelling your wedding, etc, then go for it. But don't ignore the voice in the back of your head altogether. Just make sure you go over each and everything with her beforehand.
