  3. I'm sorry!!! Boooo on Transat! But, I think it might be a blessing in disguise - it would be fun to get to fly down with your guests and share that experience, and then get to stay for a whole week after they leave! Might feel like more of a "real" HM, KWIM? I think Dreams Tulum should be able to accommodate you given how crappy tourism is to MX now because of all of this. BEST OF LUCK in rescheduling!!!!!!!! Hang in there!!!
  4. Hi girls, We're looking for an officiant to do a quick legal ceremony at our AHR. Non-denominational, preferably. I tried Googling this and came up with: officiant Looks kinda cheesy though I'd rather it be someone that has been recommended, KWIM? If you know of anyone who would be up for doing this, would you please pass along their info? It will be held near Downtown Dallas on June 27th, 2009. Also, any clue on how much someone would charge for this service?? We don't want to go full-out, just do a brief legal ceremony as a "surprise" to our guests at the AHR (since we can't get legally married @ Las Caletas). TIA!

Yahooooo, two more things marked off the list!
  6. Glad this thread popped up! Since there are 6 of us traveling down there together on the same flight (FMIL, FFIL, FBIL and his gf) we are lucky because we can just split everything up between the suitcases, plus we only have 15 OOT bags to make.

Last week was the worst week ever - it was like a roller coaster ride! One moment I thought ok, this will all be fine, and the next I was crying at my desk b/c I'm so worried. I had about 11 guests in total that were considering cancelling (one was my MOH, the other a bridesmaid). It looks like only 3 of them actually did/will - none in my wedding party, thank goodness. I'm so thankful to have you girls to turn to in the unsure time...thanks for all the girls who posted from Mexico reassuring us that everything is fine there...that has really helped me through these past weeks. So, as it stands (and we have no Plan B or plans of changing), we are still going ahead with our wedding on May 24 in Cancun. We leave on the 20th (two weeks away now!) and FI and I cannot wait!!!!! It is so nice to be able to go stress now about every other last minute wedding detail I haven't done yet (there are unfortunately a LOT of them), and not this stupid H1N1 Flu and freaking out about my guests. Yesterday I was feeling so confident I went ahead and made all my payments - snorkeling excursion, hotel, rehearsal dinner, shuttle to the hotel, etc. Things are certainly looking up! Stay strong girls, we will ALL get through this. I know its hard to tell in times like this, but I believe that everything does happen for a reason. Another date twin, and fellow TX bride! Glad to hear you're going through with it! We leave the 19th, just one day before you!! We'll be on opposite sides of the country tho Have a blast!!! I know I will!

Oh well, I have taken my lemons and made a trip to Cuba. I can't believe I replanned a wedding in 4 days!!!! I got everyone but 2 guests rebooked, a wedding date, and recently just scored a photographer, which I hear is not an easy feat in Cuba!!!! We leave in 10 days!!!!!!!!! Can't believe its actually working out (knock on wood, knock on wood, knock on wood I'm so glad it worked out for yoU! I know a lot of girls on here were affected when that happened, and to my knowledge there weren't gov't bans in place at the time, only warnings. I feel so bad for those brides!!! Boy, the DR, Cuba, Jamaica, etc. must be really profiting from all of this!!

Just try not to get too carried away I think you'll be fine and it will make for some super amazing pics! Quote: Originally Posted by Vikki Thanks everyone-I feel much better about the purchase now. I did not end up getting a BD book for reasons out of my control, but I bet FI would LOOOOVE something like that - he would totally drool over a PS3 (or whatever the latest version is haha), probably more than the BD book!!! Men...
  10. Harty - whoops, I did not realize the UK DID ban flights!!! Canada did NOT though - am I correct on that?? I'm really sorry about your situation, girls. ARGH!

How did that work? I should probably go ask that in the LC thread too... I'm curious about that ~ don't really wanna carry that much money but I guess we'll have to So as you read on my thread...I forgot money...UGH so part of the money that Reggie brought over included tips for Brad and Nicole. My dad or Reggie (I can't remember who) grabbed Brad before he left and gave him about $40 I think. he was really good and just so darn nice! For Nicole, I had wrote out a thank you card and had stuck that in my bag before hand. well it was just so crazy towards the end that I completley spaced giving it to her. So luckily the morning after the wedding a few of my friends and I were scheduled for the Vallarta Adventures Canopy tour that departed from the VA office in Nuevo Vallarta. So I stopped at the desk there that morning and asked if I could leave a few things for Nicole. they said they would set them under her desk. I was worried about the card with $$$ in it so I emailed Nicole and told her it was there and to let me know that she received it. she did get it just fine! Oh PS Jaime...I did leave something for you there too that day and I told Nicole to make sure she brings them out for your wedding day! Nothing big...and probably not enough for your whole group...but none the less I had extra and just hope you can put them to good use! Thanks for answering my question! Am interested in hearing how other past LC brides handled this also! Did you all just take cash?? OH and Andi - the suspense is killing me!! How fun
  12. k, so here's our art proof! (img and txt will be blue, koozies are lime green)
  13. Andi, you are so cute!! I'd already gotten a sneak peak at most of those pics but there were some great new ones - UHM, like you with the tequila and glow sticks!!! TOO FUNNY!!! Love the pic of Reggie walking from the boat with his "posse" in tow - he looks like a movie star being briefed before a huge event Y'all are so darn cute and such a great looking couple with great attitudes/spirits to match!!!! Thanks so much for the tips I just sent off an email to those who I want to make toasts, so thanks for that! Also I think the little greeting line is a good idea! It would need to be quick because we want plenty of time with our photographer, but I think we'll do that!! Your wedding was SO incredible. I LOVE that you were able to take that bit of time and gaze out into the ocean with PV in the background I'm so happy you were able to take that moment, and I know like you said that you'll carry it with you through life in your mind... so amazing, chica. CONGRATS MRS. REGGIE (lol ) Oh, one other thing - did you (or Reggie or whoever) take the $$ to tip Kelley & Nicole? How did that work? I should probably go ask that in the LC thread too... I'm curious about that ~ don't really wanna carry that much money but I guess we'll have to You're gorgeous, lady! I'm so HAPPY for you!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Oh, and my train is "chapel length" (think that's what it's called??). It was longer but I had her take it in about a foot, but it still has a decent train, and that's what I'm using for my TTD. Mine has all sorts of delicate beading that I'm worried about messing up... I have to wear mine again for the AHR! I really hope I don't mess it up...
  15. lol @ your FI! I love your dress!!!! I think you can totally rock it in the TTD session! It's gorgeous, could make for some great shots IMO!
  16. LeAnne, I'm thinking that's what I'll have to do! Didn't want to do another DIY thing, but I'm finding shipping in order to get a premade one here is RIDIC! Maybe I'll head over to Michael's or JoAnn's tomorrow and see what I can find... that way I could also personalize it with our wedding date on the back or something, that would be a nice touch
  17. Yamille - I totally feel ya! Martin came home with a bag of the Salsa flavored ones. How can I resist?? I totally stole some, he had to hide them from me

Probably just the one in Plano, they have that really cute store... and I was just there last Saturday! Darn!

Please don't cancel your plans. Everything is just fine and my wedding turned out to be absolutely perfect!! That is just terrible!!! Seriously, IMHO those Canadian and UK travel agencies are going to have some serious explaining to do after this dies down!! I'm so mad at them for basically banning travel WITHOUT government bans!!! So many people still WANTED to go but they made it nearly impossible!! Mexico is such a delicate country... it's just horrible what this is doing to them, it makes me so sad On another note, YAY for you! Glad your wedding was a success!!!!!!

  21. Hi Dallas girls! We've been so busy that we have not gotten Martin's mom anything for Mother's day! oops! I just had the idea that a "Mother of the Groom" t-shirt would be PERFECT, since we leave in less than 2 wks! But we'd have to go buy one locally, no time to order online I don't think... Ideas?? TIA!!
