OMG!!!!! That sounds like a nightmare or a seriously cruel joke!!!! I'm reading this book "Something Borrowed" by Emily Griffin (great beach read - you should check it out!) and your friend reminds me of the main character Darcy who is getting married (her MOH is the narrator). I'm really sorry! Especially with your own DW coming up! At least now you have a really good perspective on what to expect for your own BMs/MOH...

BUMP!!! I still need help with this. Just got in town Friday, doing garage sale yesterday and today, then got a whole lot of other stuff to do this week! And I need to somehow find an officiant for our June 27th "AHR" aka "Legal Wedding Day"!!! Is this even possible?? I keep searching on the net but I have no experience with this... I wish someone in our family had a minister or something to help us out! lol

Well, we are having it at my Dad's art gallery that he owns so we are not limited on time. However, the invites that were just sent out do say "6:30-8:30". We are just doing beer/wine + hourdeurves (however the HECK you spell that!!! LOL), but we're also trying to squeeze in our legal ceremony. Personally I don't think 6:30-8:30 is enough time (my Grandma planned it tho - lol)... I'm thinking we'll stay and dance and stuff til at least 10... I think 4 hrs is plenty of time.

Hey girls (and guys, lol)!!! I just wanted to pop in on this thread real quick and say the inspiration board/photos totally WORKED!!!!! I never got around to cutting and pasting BUT I did do a whole Word Doc and sent it out to all of our guests.... NO ONE FREAKED OUT! It is amazing here. FYI When you come in the PVR airport they ARE doing a thermal body scan right as you exit the plane, just before customs. I was really glad I didn't know that cause I probably woulda freaked a little (it was hot enough in the airport, lol!). But I was FINE!! YAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! But just FYI, in case you are feeling a little feverish you may want to take some Tylenol on the plane ride over - better safe than sorry. (course, I hope none of y'all feel feverish of course!) I personally have seen NO masks, though Martin and his parents went to Walmart the first day we got here (last Tues) and said the cashiers at Walmart were wearing masks but they kept taking them on and off to talk to ppl lol I must say though it is SAD here... There is NO ONE at our hotel!! I mean, out of maybe 450 rooms, probably 25% occupancy from what we can tell. Sunday and Monday (the "big" days for Memorial weekend) it was maybe 50% occupied. My Aunt said when they went to eat breakfast @ the Marina that the lady got down on her knees to thank her for coming to Mexico (my Aunt & Uncle came all the way from Boston!). They are so grateful for our business and honestly I am SO happy to give it to them!! I'm not even haggling with the beach vendors as much as I would normally - I know they need the money and I'm still getting good deals, KWIM? Anyways, everything is PERFECT! Great airfare deals, uncrowded beaches/pools/hotels/restaurants.... just LOVELY for a wedding party!!! SO, come one come all!!! Help our Mexico's poor economy! It's great here

THANKS everyone!!!!!!!!!!! And thanks to Andi for starting the thread! You've been my go-to girl for planning. I must've talked about you so much this weekend I think ppl thought I was a little cuckoo And THANKS for the presents you left - those color changing cups were a HIT!!! I won't go into details here, but the wedding was amazing. Our group danced so hard it was hilarious!! I was exhausted and actually pretty darn sober (not that i didn't drink, just a very long day + lots of water + lots of sweating) so I just sat down at the end yawning and waiting for the boat ride, haha. BUT when we got on the boat ride back Nicole and I had our shot together - I showed her how to do the "Jaime shot" - Don Julio Blanco + Grand Marnier + 3 good squeezes of fresh lime juice. It was YUMMY! Then a group of us stayed up until about 3:30 in the pool drinking tequila. My poor sister had to wake up the next morning to catch her flight! Somehow she did it, though I do not know how - I am STILL exhausted! LOL we had our TTD yesterday, so much fun. Didn't get to dinner until almost midnight then had to wake up this morning at 7:45 to go to a Farewell Breakfast for most of our guests who just left - it was really fun and nice So I'm finally able to breathe a bit and relax - chilling up on my patio (one of our THREE private patios! LOL) drinking a huge bottle of water (feeling kinda dehydrated) and just catching up with emails and stuff (don't worry, this is actually relaxing for me!) Hello ladies (and gents)! So, we've been down here for 4 days now! It's wonderful!!! The weather has been off and on but we've gotten 2 beautiful days And actually I like the rain because everything is so much greener than it was this time last yr! The hotel is DEAD! It's kind of eerie! It's a pretty large hotel (over 400 rooms), and I don't think even half of the rooms could be booked! They're so lacking for business that they've shut down the Lobby bar! Strange, huh?? But it's kind of cool because there's definitely NO fighting for beach lounges/shade/etc.! lol Wendesday we laid underneath one of the 3 or so private tents on the beach - no problem at all! I'll take that over overcrowding any day!! So, our suite - well, it's pretty SWEET (ha. ha. ha. ) We have a corner unit - 3 private, large balconies with lots of sunbathing lounges, chairs, etc. The bedroom is like a separate suite, then there's a living room with couches that fold out into beds, chairs, table and even a mini dining area - AND I think this place has more storage than our whole town house! hahahaha Last night several of our friends came up and we had a little party! haha it was lotsa fun and cheaper than going out! Everything for the wedding is going great - it's like "what wedding??" which is exactly how it should be!! Anyone considering a DW - go for it!!! The travel has been tricky nailing all that down but overall it's been a great experience! (The Marriott was very difficult to work with, once we're here though the staff is VERY nice and attentive and the hotel is beautiful) We met up with Nicole Wed night and I introduced her to a "real" margarita - they make them down here with Squirt!! ICK!!! The way we do it back home is a premium tequila + orange liqueur (preferably Grand Marnier!) + simple syrup + fresh squeezed lime juice - YEAH!!! I'm definitely a margarita snob lol ~ we are paying to have our margaritas at the reception upgraded, haha. it's only $3.50 a person so not bad and totally worth it! Those Squirt "margaritas" are just gross! LOL So anyways we found out down here our version of a marg is called a "Cadillac margarita" - I think I've corrupted Nicole now We also went to Victor's on Wed night just before we met with Nicole - we went with Martin's parents + younger bro and his gf. We were going over to confirm our Welcome Dinner (for tonight), which is only $15 USD per person! That includes guacamole appetizer, your choice of beef/chicken/shrimp fajitas and 1 alcoholic beverage! Not bad! Victor met us (he's this 70-something year old man who I've heard stories about him being so nice and he comes out and does tequila shots with you! lol). he was SOOOO sweet! He immediately brought out 7 chilled tequila shots, passed them out (OMG you should have SEEN the look on Martin's mom's face who I imagine has NEVER done a tequila shot in her life! ) ~ his Mom even took the shot with us all!!! WHOA!! HAHA And then we sat down for a quick bite to eat - when you order a beer you get another free tequilita - so martin's mom had 2 tequila shots!!! They are a little weak, but still! Big deal! lol Then Victor could tell I was HOT (I was so gross and sweaty) so he brought me over an ice cold wet towel and wrapped it around my neck & shoulders. i didn't have the heart to tell him that I'd just put on self tanner that's supposed to stay on for at least 12 hrs! lol!!! He is just a doll. Can't wait to go back tonight Uhm what else?? Oh yeah - on the swine flu junk - everything is FINE, just like you've heard! FYI they DO scan you as you enter PVR ~ it's a thermal body scan. I was a bit concerned since most of you know by now I have random fevers with the Lyme disease - I was so glad I didn't know about the scan before or else it probably would've caused me to panic. But i did fine! If you do think you have a slight fever you might want to take Tylenol on the way over just to be safe - wouldn't wanna hassle with that! I imagine they'll be doing it on the way out too, so I'll probably take some Tylenol as precautionary. K, martin is still sleeping but there's something up with my sister's reservation so I need to go check on that. Btw - most of our group is here safe and sound! 6 of us came on Tues and 13 people arrived yesterday My sis, BM and her "date/friend" are coming tomorrow and then Elizabeth and Lindsey Medina join us on Saturday! Gonna be fun! And 2 of our friends might hop on board LATE - LOL. Seriously, they are showing R/T airfare from DFW to PVR today for $227!! That might be without tax but still! Cheap!!! I told them they'd better let me know asap though ~ slackers! hahaha Alright girls, I'm drinking plenty of margs for you all I didn't get to do my planning thread before I left so hugs to you all! Oh and our OOT bags are great - room service is delivering them to the rooms. The "Rain or Swine" koozies are a hit I'll probably check in one more time (maybe) before the wedding, so if you need to ask me anything I'll try and check this thread. Only 2 more days until I get married!!!! WOOHOOOO!!!! P.S. I hope I fit into my wedding dress! Martin and I have been on a mostly vegan diet, but that's obviously gone out the window now - between all the drinking and eating I seriously think I've gained a pound or three already! LOL Better start downing that agua!

ok I started posting something but it messed up... Well ladies, I leave tomorrow morning! We head out for the airport around 10:15, plane departs at 1:30pm. Tomorrow night we'll be sleeping in our new beds in PV!!! We meet up with Nicole on Wednesday @ the Lighthouse in the Marina (there's a cool bar on top!) ~ looking forward to that! just gotta figure out some last min payment details (with the Marriott, our HM hotel and final balance for LC) but other than that we're pretty much ready!!! Got all of our OOT stuff packed... somehow!! lol Luckily there are 6 of us going down together so we have help I have never stayed anywhere before for 8 nights! I think i packed half my wardrobe! LOL Ok, so I'll probably check in between now and then since we'll be there several days early. Bye for now!

Think I got it worked out! I am just soooo super stressed because we are dealing with major last minute issues paying the resort and our honeymoon travel It's all just so damn stressful. I just want to be able to RELAX on our vacations!!! Anyways, I wrote my Dad & FSIL plus our roommates - trying to coordinate if roommates can grab it from our front door and either Dad or FSIL can pick it up and bring it down with them (they're not leaving til Thurs). It will work out fine. There are just too many last min crises going on right now and I physically feel like crap!

Awww man Of course, I'm being super emotional right now on top of not feeling well (generally run down, mild fever, scratchy throat... basically whiny as hell lol). But I just tracked Martin's gift (the watchbox) and it says it's scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday!! We leave tomorrow... I even paid expedited shipping! They should have shipped it sooner. I'm so sad FI knows about it sorta - not what it is but that there's something coming. I know he got me something. If any of y'all have read the "Love Languages" book, my love language is gifts. So I'm kinda bummed not to be able to give Martin his gift as a symbol of my love to him Rats! It's totally not the end of the world, I know. Just a bit of a bummer...

Shoot - we do not have anything for tags and we leave tomorrow! LOL... oops!
