  1. Glenda, Glad you had a good time in Bean town! It is a nice city but I have the same gripes and complimentsas you. The bars close way too early and the streets make no friggin sense. The one time I heard a real thick Boston accent was when I asked directions some where. Couldn't understand a word that lady said. But it is a quaint city and I even saw a game once at Fenway and had a good time (I'm a yankee fan). I love Quincy Market but the Bostonians call it something else. Anyhow I digress. Glad you had a good time and you will be getting a reply from my husband (aka Mr. Yankees) in 3....2.....1.... (lol)
  2. For a small group like yours, I love the idea of a private dinner party maybe with some entertainment such as a guitarist or steel drum. Maybe with a terrace or the beach as the setting. That way, the event still feels special and like a reception with a small group setting in mind.

  4. May all of you have a day full of smooches, cuddles, and surprises! Much Love to all the girls and guys of BDW!!!
  5. I wonder if you could find a toy tub somewhere? If worse comes to worse, you could use a pretty wicker basket that could be used later for towel storage. Michael's usually has wicker laundry baskets ($4) that kinda resemble a tub shape. A cute wicker hamper would be consistent with the theme and would work too. You may also want to check garden supply places for tub shaped planters. If you have the time and patience, a paper mache tub wouldn't be too hard to create.
  6. Got my wedding day bikini (white) from there! I was happy with the fit and the design. I agree with just going up a size for the bottoms. Happy Shopping! P.S. I wore the bikini after the ceremony and pics. Don't want anyone thinking I pulled a Pam Anderson. lol

  8. ~When you and your husband have countless discussions about BDW issues and topics. ~ When you have met with other BDW friends in foreign countries. ~ When BDW is pretty much the only web site you go on.
  9. Welcome and Congrats! You will love Dreams. When we were planning our wedding, My husband and I just sent an e-mail to Sandra requesting price lists, ceremony set up pics, and flower choices. She sent the info straight to us via email within a few days. As you'll probally find out communication can be slow with WC team at Dreams but they do follow through. Jay and I found phone calls to Landy or Sandra were the best way to get info quickly. There's a lot of great info on here. But really, the best way to get info you need is to go straight to the source (Dreams WC team). Congrats and Happy Planning.
  10. Jello brand puts out an istant mousse mix. It's in the pudding section in the market. It's awesome because I think you just need milk and a mixer. Just mix it up for a couple of minutes, put it in dessert cups or wine glasses and chill for i think at least a half hours. top with cool whip or whipped cream and strawberry for garnish. I love it cause its super easy, fast, and looks fancy.
  11. Personally, there's nothing more romantic to me than filet mignon, some steamed asparagus, and baked potatoes. Best thing about it is that it is super easy and quick. I sear the filets in a frying pan then transfere them to the broiler for about 8 minutes on each side. Worst thing about it is Filet can be pricey, especially around this time of year. You can start out with some fruit, brie, and Wine, move on to the main course. and have chocolate mousse (instant is so good and easy), and strawberries with champagne.
  12. It is hard to judge without seeing them on you but I love Dress 2 -elegant and simple.
  13. Congrats! Have a beautiful wedding and a great honeymoon!
  14. Take a look at the wedding review section on here. There are a number of Dreams Tulum reviews that include all kinds of ceremony details. Sandra is awesome and if there is anything special you want to add (i.e. sand ceremony, readings, special music), they accomodate. We forgot our music and Sandra saved the day by downloading it for us. Our ceremony was civil and was about 15 minutes but DH and I had a private ceremony for just the two of us. Good Luck!
  15. = ( I'm sorry to hear you are in a pickle regarding this. Would it be worth it for you to travel to where a close friend or family member lives? Might be fun to go away for a weekend, blow off some steam, and party with someone close. I don't see anything wrong with throwing yourself a bach party. But IMHO I'm not sure if I would want to celebrate with people who couldn't be bothered to step up for me.
  16. I think it's a definite do! It informs everyone of the details and it's a nice keepsake for you and your family/ friends. There's nothing like that feeling when you are addressing them and getting them ready to go. The excitement just wells in you because you know the big days is almost here. Jay and I eloped so we did announcements and sent out invites to our small AHR. We did both on Vista Print and the cost was minimal. Our announcements were postcards. They were very cool, cheap, and consistent witht he theme of a DW.
  17. I was in my bare feet during the ceremony and had satin slides for pictures.
  18. I love "Love and Marriage" by Sinatra or for some odd reason "better Together" by Jack Johnson.
  19. Katie, I sorry to hear about this but hopefully this is a blessing in disguise! Good Luck!
  20. We visited Playa early last July and it was soooooo hot even at night. You might have a better time of it if you do what you were planning...indoors with out door access.
  21. Awww that sucks! But i'm just glad you are ok! I agree that you need to treat yourself....I think a hot fudge sundae would do the trick!
