But I'm set for Dec. 18, 2007 at 4 on the beach. YAY!! Thanks for not letting me stress out too much! Great! Now what you should do just to be in contact with Chandlyn is email her your confirmation number and introduce yourself and you can start asking her for info!

I think I read somewhere that you can now request the Riu's wedding cake to be made withOUT the rum and then it just comes in normal chocolate or vanilla and tastes just fine! I will see if I can find where I read that, does anyone else know?

Wedding Dress Prices?

Soooo, I did find one dress that fit the bill for $650 at a really small bridal shop in Austin, but then I tried on this two piece Romona Keveza dress during a trunk show and it made me cry so that was it. I think the Romona dress was about $1700, I got a 10% discount for the trunk show and they custom made the dress into one piece for me at no extra charge. I also got a good discount on my second dress which I ordered from the same place so total for both with tax, veil and pearl headband it as $3300. I'm paying about $700 more for alterations on both dresses. It's a lot more than I thought I'd spend or want to spend and frankly if my mom hadn't insisted on paying for it I wouldn't have done it, but every time I do a fitting I just get dreamy. I love that dress. Alisha, have you posted pics? We'd love to see them!! -

I tried to find my dress again, as it's been awhile since I looked but neither my wedding dress or BM dresses are anywhere to be found. I guess I'll just have to post the real pictures in January! Thanks Cherie! Can't wait to see your pics!! January seems like a LONG time to wait though, grrrr!

Talk to you soon, Cherie OK, I looked through the threads, my wedding dress is pg 167 and the bridal party outfits are on pg 31 of the bridesmaid dress thread!

Beach-Themed Ring Holders
jmhein replied to foxytv's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I really want a shell ring holder too, ever since I saw that pic as well! I think I am going to go with the Polished Tiger Clam Shell on this site that Lizz had posted (affordable - only $5.95!!!): Beach Wedding Favors: Beach Weddings by HansonEllis -

My dress is made by Mori Lee and so far I haven't been able to find it online. My BM dresses are from Venus bridal. How are things going for you? Do you have any pictures of your bridal dresses? Things are coming together for me as well! Still a list a mile long of things to do, but they are all relatively small and fun things like buying favours for the guests, ordering our wedding rings, etc. Anyway, I will try not to hijack this thread any more than I already have, LOL! I have posted pics of my wedding dress (by Venus Bridals, bought it in Edmonton at a store that had customized the lace up back) and my bridesmaid dresses (bought at Le Chateau) in these threads (links below), you may have to dig through for my posts, LOL, but it will be fun as I love looking at all the wonderful dresses everyone picked out for themselves! Wedding dresses: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ing-dress.html Bridesmaid dresses: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...s-dresses.html I have yet to see Fort Mac myself but I think it would be interesting to check it out and see the famous oil sands! Hopefully some day!

Need help picking my dress!
jmhein replied to beachbride08's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I love how the top on #1 looks on you, but I think #2 will be a better beach dress, and then when I looked at the link... wow! LOVE the back on #2! So my preference is #2, but go with the one you love the most! -
I was wondering why everyone's siggy had a holding hands theme! LOL! Thank goodness I finally found out why! I dont think I have any of us holding hands, but I will DEFINITELY participate in the October theme, I have some great Halloween pics! I am going to try to make my own signature collage, is there a thread somewhere that tells what size to make the jpeg, etc?

Hey ladies! I started tracking calories in a journal back in February and have so far lost 12 pounds! I have about another 5 to go until I will be to my ideal weight! It really is this simple, if you take in less calories than you expend, you will lose weight! Another great tool I have been using is Free Diet Plans at SparkPeople It will also tell you how many calories to take in to meet your goal weight by your target date, PLUS you can track all your food intake and calories with their HUGE food database, and track calories burned through cardio, record weight workouts, etc. It's awesome and it's freeeee!!!

Ha ha, that's awesome and a great idea! That would be very motivating, I think I am going to look into getting one or definitely printing off a picture!

Very Long - ROR Bad Wedding Experience
jmhein replied to PrecisePlans's topic in Jamaica Accommodations & Site
Wowzers, that does really suck for this couple and it is pretty worrisome... however... it also sounds like they could have really relaxed about some stuff and they would have enjoyed their stay a lot more! They should have drank a whole lot more pina coladas and not worried so much about their free fruit basket! But they did have a lot of really crappy things happen... I do keep reading some concerning reviews about the service at the ROR and it makes me a little nervous... -
Grand Total for Riu Ocho Rios Wedding
jmhein replied to PrecisePlans's topic in Jamaica Accommodations & Site
I was under the impression that the free weddings cost $250 because that is the fee paid to the minister!? So I am confused now too!! Rum punch is free after the ceremony. If you wanted to have some champagne on hand as well that is an extra cost. (I might get some champagne for the wedding party as it will look nice in the pics!) If you want upgraded decorations to the gazebo or wedding arch, that is an extra cost and it's variable depending on what you want. Also cost for aisle runner and aisle markers if you are interested in those... -

MD_OCR, I posted these cakes in another thread, but in case you haven't seen them, they're attached! Chandlyn just sent them to me yesterday as upgrade options available from the ROR: Cakes.doc

Chandlyn (or maybe she has a new assistant because the name in the email was Nekeisha) emailed me some more cake options and prices today!! Check out the attachment (Sorry its a link, it's a Word doc and I didnt have time to separate all the pics out) They're pretty!!! But pricey! I am not sure if I will upgrade my cake or keep it simple, but these are so nice and tempting.... Cakes.doc

It's neat to have a bride from one of the other Riu's in Jamaica, so many of us are getting married at the Riu Ocho Rios! I have heard Negril is just beautiful! I just skipped that part about entering hotel room information and it still all worked for me!
