Anyway, that would be very neat if you will still be at the resort when we arrive!! I live in Grande Prairie, where are you?

We are spending the first week at the Riu Ocho Rios with all our friends and family for the wedding, then we really want to go to a couples only resort for the 2nd week also - just to kind of escape and really have some romantic "us" time! And since I dont know when we'll be able to go back to Jamaica, we want to see some other areas of the island too, so we are thinking either one of the Sandals in Montego Bay or the Sandals or Couples in Negril. I would really love to go to Negril since I hear it is so amazing, but the quotes coming in from the travel agent are quite a bit pricier for Negril.... It might be Mo Bay and if it's Sandals we can "Stay at 1, Play at 7", so we may take a tour to the Negril one... Those are my thoughts so far! ha ha!

Thanks akh! I got it figured now! Have to get used to this new forum! I have quite a bit of my planning done already... I bought my bridesmaids their dresses, I bought MY dress just last week!, my fiance has his outfit, and I have most details already sorted with the wedding coordinator at the Riu! So that is all very nice!! But there still seem to be a million little things to do! My fiance has yet to completely select his groomsmen for example, we have to figure out favours for our guests, we have to buy wedding bands, etc, etc!!

OOPS! I need to update my "Footer" and my wedding date with my new wedding date. We were getting married on Feb 6th but thanks to SUNQUEST out of Canada cancelling a flight I had to change it... how do I change my info..?

Hi everyone!! I actually think I first joined this forum way back in April but then I kind of... forgot about it... eeeps! Sorry! But I was also on a brides.com forum and this one was recommended and I can't believe how active it's become! I am getting married at the Riu Ocho Rios in Jamaica in less than 6 months now! Our wedding is set for Feb 12, 2008 and I am very, very excited and a total information junkie so I am so very glad to see so many other DW brides on here!!! I look forward to chatting with you all!

I think that's a great idea! I JUST BOOKED my wedding at the Riu Ocho Rios for Feb 6, 2008! I think I will get married onsite, but I love the look of The Ruins, I think it would be unique and memorable and so nice!

I just wanted to let the one concerned previous poster know that I have checked Trip Advisor several times (OK - obsessively!!) but I also found a few people who were quite happy with their weddings there on the forums, and on another wedding talkboard... so I decided to go with my gut and book it! I am quite detail oriented (ok - obsessive... seems to be a theme!) and I plan on having every detail in writing from the Coordinator well in advance before I go! I think it will allll be OK! Here's hoping anyway! There's no particular reason for the Feb 6th date, other than we really needed an escape from the cold Alberta winter and early Feb was the best time to do that! Thanks for the welcomes, and I will peruse the board now!
