  1. I love that you promise not to "yuck" the other person's "yum"!!! I think they look great and I love the playful touches!

I am definitely going to try for the upgrade the day we board the plane! Otherwise, I think we will be OK, we might be slightly overweight but not too bad, my parents are both traveling light and offered us luggage space as well, so I'll make it work! Thanks everyone!!
  3. Does anyone know who Shally-Ann is? I just wrote to Chandlyn to request a meeting time with her, and I got this back: Dear Janelle, Thank you for your email. It would be my pleasure to meet with you on Monday, February 11th at 9:00am. The wedding rehearsal we can schedule for Monday, February 11th at 5:30pm. If you should require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us. Warm Regards Shally-Ann Beckford Where did Chandlyn go? I am sure Shally-Ann is great, but I've been dealing with Chandlyn for the past year of planning, it's weird that this Shally-Ann is suddenly the one meeting me? Thoughts?
  4. Hi ladies! For those of you who've been to the ROR already, I am trying to answer a burning question for my fh. He is a golf NUT and is wondering where the Sandals golf course is in relation to the Riu? Somewhere I saw a pic that seemed to show it was RIGHT behind the resort, is that the case? TIA! Also, has anyone golfed this course? Did you like it? Any pics? Thanks!
  5. The pics are beautiful! I can't wait to hear how it all went!

Five days until you leave Pouchie, how exciting!!!
  7. FYI - there is a "Wedding Attire & Rings" section on BDW that you might get more help in, instead of posting in the Jamaica section.
  8. Hi ladies! I searched for this topic and couldn't find it, I am sorry if I missed a similar thread somewhere.... I thought it might be a good idea to put together a list for the resort photographer of "Must Have" Photos I would like! I've just started on mine, and here's what I have so far... *note - the photog will likely only be doing the ceremony and group/fun shots afterward, my FSIL will be taking some of us getting ready and some at the reception: Ceremony site all set up – empty Ceremony site set up with guests Groom and groomsmen entrance Groom and groomsmen waiting at gazebo Groom waiting for bride Shots of the crowd waiting – especially parents Bridesmaids walking down the aisle Bride walking down with father Groom seeing bride for the first time Father “giving bride away†Ceremony shots of bride and groom (several) Exchanging of the rings The Kiss Bride and groom holding certificate Bride and groom walking down aisle with BUBBLES!!! And that's as far as I got so far! I want SO many fun shots on the beach after the ceremony but am having a hard time coming up with descriptions for them. If anyone has a similar list they would like to share, or if you would like to share your favorite photos from your DW, I am sure that would provide inspiration to so many of us on here! Thank you!!
  9. I agree! I think a bachelorette is absolutely fine! I know if I were the friend of a bride having a DW and I wasn't going, I would still totally love to throw her a bachelorette party, because it's a fun night out with the girls! My friends are throwing a bachelorette party next weekend for me! Of course, many of them are also coming to the wedding, or were invited but can't make it, but there are others who are coming just for the fun night out!

I think my Mom has something in mind to wear, but I love this one!
  11. We have 40 guests coming to the ROR, so we are doing the dinner and disco reception there, but we are also having an AHR about a month and a half after we get back to celebrate with all the friends who couldn't make it. We're renting a hall, having a cold buffet, serving Red Stripe beer, and dancing the night away!
  12. My heart goes out to you! And I agree with everything Claire said, your mom should be proceeding with CAUTION and not letting her heart get in the way of her head. My question is, what's the RUSH If he is pushing for a speedy wedding, WHY? Does your mom have money that he gains access to once they're married? Can you convince her to get a prenup? Definitely do that background check!
  13. Welcome! Another Alberta gal having a Jamaican wedding, I love it!
  14. Wow, everything was beautiful! Congratulations! I love the pic of you and the girls with the fans in front of your faces, so cute!
  15. I should probably arrange a meeting time with her too! Yikes! We fly to Jamaica 3 weeks tomorrow! Mopher - when is your wedding?
  16. Anyone have any suggestions for good mother/son dance songs for the wedding reception? We are having a really tough time finding something nice but not too sappy...
  17. Has anyone done their invitations for their AHR yet? That is one of the first things on my list and I'm stuck on how to word it!

I was curious about this and checked Trip Advisor, because this bride has been posting this EVERYWHERE. There was nothing in the reviews but then I checked the forums on TA for Punta Cana, and there is all sorts of drama in the forums about this story. I think she had posted a review and Trip Advisor possibly deleted it after. There is also a note from a rep of the Majestic Colonial saying that he cannot comment because it's in the lawyer's hands, but that the hotel's side of the story will also come out... interesting!
