  1. Congratulations! I'm sure you're having a WONDERFUL time!! Amy
  2. Welcome to the club, Christine!!!! Such perfect timing for you! We get out of school the Friday before Memorial Day, and I'm due somewhere at the end of May~ so probably no maternity leave for me either! Amy

  4. This is where we were married!!!! I absolutely LOVED it there!!! Amy
  5. Dear Husband, Please just admit that we got a GREAT deal on a Vera Wang king-size mattress and box-spring set. This bed was originally $3200 and we got it for $599!!!!!! Yes, it was a "scratch and dent" and just has a small snag in the fabric underneath, but don't think you could've got the guy to go lower!!!! Also, remember that one of the reasons we're getting this new mattress is because you had a little too much to drink the other night and thought the bed was the TOILET!!!!! (Did I just say that here, he'd KILL ME!!!!). The old mattress springs are also broken so they're poking our legs when we get in and out! Love, Your pregnant wife who wishes she could drink and repay you!!!!!
  6. Have a great time and really enjoy yourself!!!! Amy
  7. Dear Self, GET OFF OF THE COMPUTER and... 1. Finish the damn thank-you's from the AHR~ you were so excited to get them from Vista Print early, but you still need to write about 120 more of them!!!! 2. Clean the office, spare-bedroom, and basement like you said you would before you got pg!!!! If you have to be on the computer, post more often at BDW!!!! The girls on this forum did so much to help make your wedding day the best it could've been!!! You haven't even posted pix from your bachelorette party or your AHR, let alone a review!!!! Also, don't forget about changing your damn siggy pic!!! Find a good pic and get it on here! Signed, the wife whose husband thinks he'd get more attention if he'd tatoo a space bar to his ass!!!!
  8. Lizz (and others in the planning process), I wasn't even engaged for 7 months and 3 weeks! I'm a teacher and I sell lia sophia jewelry, so I'm pretty much busy all the time! The things will get done when they need to, and EVERYTHING will be beautiful! Have fun! Amy
  9. I hope you have a great birthday, Courtney! Amy
  10. Here's my new one! Of course, seeing everyone's great pix, makes me wish I had more of us holding hands! Amy
  11. Don't be scared~ here are my little hairless babies! Gizzy and Zoe are Minskins- part Munchkin, part Sphynx. Amy
  12. I think your pix look great, Drea. Thanks for sharing! Amy

We actually used a vase bought at Wal-Mart in Playa the day before, and 2 nautilus shells bought at a store across the street from the resort hours before the ceremony (I knew I wanted those shells, but couldn't find them, and did have a back-up plan!). I just picked up a cheap vase there because I knew I wouldn't keep the sand in an open vase because a. I have 2 kittens that prevent me from keeping almost anything out! and b. I didn't want dust to get in it. So, when I got home, I made this shadow-box to display the sand, a pic of the sand ceremony, and the words my MOH read for it. Amy
  14. Congratulations! I'm so happy for all of you!!! Amy
  15. I actually bought my DH's tie THE NIGHT BEFORE WE LEFT FOR MEXICO!!! I finally agreed that he didn't have to wear a tie, then I saw one that matched my BM dresses perfectly! I am so happy he ended up wearing it, because I didn't make him wear the coat to his tan suit during the ceremony (one of my BM's was really pleading his case- she was at a wedding in Mexico where the groom ended up sick from the heat, so at the last minute she was begging me not to make Kevin wear it!). So, since he would've looked like the GM (they had the suit pants and same short sleeve white shirt he had), I was glad he had the tie! Amy
  16. We also just had ours, and we LOVED it!!! It was a formal reception, I got to wear my dress again, and we had 275 people. It might make a difference that neither of us has been married before, and my parents paid for it. I was happy to be able to get pix with family and friends who didn't go to Mexico (we had 35 people go). So many people have told us that they had a wonderful time! Some people mentioned not having one because that's why they went to Mexico in the first place (to have a small wedding)~ we went because I've always wanted turquoise water and white sand in my wedding pictures!!! Amy
  17. something new: dress, "I Do" VS underwear! something borrowed: anklet from my MOH something blue: shoes had small turquoise stones on them something old: pearl ring Grandma gave me to wear to a prom (although at the wedding when I showed her, she didn't recognize it! Must not have been so special!!!)

It's so beautiful and I just want to cry for all of the locals there since I've seen the housing, the bars, the hotels and there is no way that any of it could have survived a storm like this. I'm sure the only thing that remains is the cruise port which is the most non native thing there. So sad. I agree, we LOVED Costa Maya when we stopped there on a cruise. I feel so bad for those people! We actually met this really nice couple (thought it was a bar, but it was their house!). Did you happen to come across Susie's Junglewear when you were there? I don't remember the guy's name, but "Susie" made clothes that she sold!
  19. Tami~ My MOH read our sand ceremony, and my Grandma read the Corinthians verse at our legal ceremony. As you said, you can pretty much do what you want. Amy
  20. When we were booking ours, we were told that Aruba is "under the hurricane belt". Have you thought about Aruba To me, it's the 2nd most BEAUTIFUL place I have EVER seen (The Abacos in the Bahamas is the first!). We would've had ours in Aruba, except hubby and I are not fans of long plane rides (we've been there via cruise ship before). Let me know if you have any questions about Aruba. Amy
  21. Amanda~ LOVE THE BLING!!!! Those are so cute!!! And, I just spent a little while looking at your website and it's great!!! That is so cool that you worked on cruise ships!!! Which line(s)? I love cruising and always thought it'd be so cool to work on a ship! Thanks for sharing! Amy
  22. Great pictures, Stephanie! Wish we would've had some leftover cake from our AHR last weekend!!!! I could go for a piece right now!!! Amy
  23. I love your head piece, its so simple yet pretty. Where did you get it from? My veil or headband? The veil came from David's Bridal, and the headband came from Michael's. The flower was put in after the veil came off. Quote: Originally Posted by Raeka thanks for sharing Amy. They are very pretty. I think you did your hair similar to how I want mine done...
