Where did you get the shells you used to pour sand during your ceremony? I actually bought them at a shell store across the street from our resort! I think you can get them online, though- but don't know where. They're called "nautilus" (sp? Just woke up!). Amy
  2. A good friend of my brother's is on there, twice actually, and what is said about him is SO TRUE!!!! Amy
  3. Well, I guess it was more than an hour, but in Mexico, my hubby was taking a nap while we were working on favors. He finally said, "OK, enough of Craft Hour with Amy and Jesse." So that's the new phrase for anything like what was going on tonight!! Our AHR is on Saturday, so of course, my last-minute-self and wonderful bridesmaid completed quite a few projects tonight! First is my sand ceremony shadow box. There is no way my monsters (hairless kittens) would leave alone any kind of container with sand (lid or not!). So, that's why I decided to do this: Next is my card holder. Victoria used this for her wedding, but we changed the decorations to suit our beach wedding: Here's a pic of our group with the frame they autographed: This is a display board showing our program fan info blown up: These are the cards for my guest book (they'll sign them, then I have 4 girls taking pix of everyone specifically for this reason, so I can put their pic by their advice): And last but not least, these are the starfish that were referenced in my AHR Vent post from earlier today! I need to finish the starfish (the ribbon is cut, just need to tie the tags on). I might do 1 more display board of random favorite pix from the wedding day. We'll have our slideshow playing, and have a digital frame going of different events throughout the week. I think that's everything! Off to bed now at 1:38 a.m.!!! Amy ***Sorry these are huge! Thought I figured out how to re-size, but it's not working!!

  5. WOW!!! I got my order today! I'm very happy with the quality of everything- especially for the price! Amy
  6. Diana~ You're getting married on my one-year anniversary!!! I had blue (it was called "cornflower"). I got so many compliments on the girls' dresses! An accent color I'm using for my AHR this weekend is lime green. I wanted it, but didn't really use it anywhere in Mexico. I'll post pix after the reception. Amy
  7. I'm answering my own question!!! I just thought of James Taylor, "You've Got a Friend"! I think that would be a great one to use for this! (But still let me know if you have other ideas!) Thanks! Amy
  8. Our AHR is on Saturday, and I picked "Remember When" by Alan Jackson for the wedding party song, but now I'm having second thoughts. Is it too slow and "romantic" for the wedding party to dance to? I thought about us using it for our first dance, but we're using "Better Together" since that's what we signed our marriage license to. Any good ideas on what to use for that dance? Amy
  9. I downloaded a template from wiltonprint.com for tags for my AHR placecards. On my screen, it shows the layout, but it won't print in the correct spot on the paper!!! The paper is 6.5 wide, and I changed that in my print options, but it's still not working!!!! Any idea what I'm doing wrong, or what I can change to make it work? Thanks! Amy
  10. Awesome slideshow! Everything was so beautiful! Amy
  11. We did this at 6 a.m. the next morning with the sun coming up and it was beautiful!!! I had a second dress- it was actually a white bridesmaid dress that I paid $100 for. Amy

That's right! I remember when DH got his passport in the mail and his BC was with it. I'd double check to see if you could use the one you photo-copied, since they'll know that they have your real one! Amy
  13. I'm wearing mine to my AHR next Saturday. I'm glad to have another reason to wear it! Amy

This is probably true. At the last minute, my grandpa couldn't go because my grandma is sick. My aunt was going to take her place, and went to apply the Monday before we left on Saturday, and they told her it was too late because she wouldn't be in the system. Amy P.S. If you use that form that says you applied, DO NOT FORGET YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE!!! My brother's girlfriend and 2-month old had to go home from the airport and fly the next day, because they didn't bring the baby's birth certificate!!! Good thing my aunt and uncle were flying out the next day, so Katie and the baby went with them.
  15. I had to give songs to our DJ for our AHR yesterday, and "My Wish" is the one that Kevin and his mom are dancing to! I'd never heard it, but found it on a list of mother/son songs, listened to it, and loved it! Called Kevin and of course since he's a country fan, he knew it and loved it. It was going to be Allison Krauss- When you say nothing at all, until I found My Wish. Our first dance it Better Together- that was playing when we signed our marriage license and got our fingerprints done. Amy
  16. We used shells I bought THE DAY OF THE WEDDING!!!! Found them at a store across the street, I did have a back-up plan! My MOH bought the vase at Wal-Mart there! I didn't want to haul glass, so we left the vase. I'm on the hunt for something with a lid- similar to the cork ones already posted. Here's the pic: Amy
  17. We LOVE Aruba!!!! Would've been married there, but we (hubby and I) HATE long plane rides!!! We went there via cruise ship!! It is our all time favorite place! It's beautiful! Amy
  18. I actually had 2 picnic baskets at one time today! My grandma had an old one, that she said I could alter any way I wanted. Left her house and went to one of my BM's houses, who is a very good friend that I must not have mentioned this quest to~ anyway, she had a gorgeous picnic basket that she used at her wedding! I'm going to change some things, add some fishing net and shells, and it will be awesome! I'll post a pic when it's done. Amy P.S. LOVE that sandcastle idea!
  19. Driver's License- Check! And, I like my new pic! Luckily I still have my tan! I really feel like my name is "official" now since it's on my license! Of course, I need to do the bank, and other personal accounts and stuff, but at least the main stuff is done!!! Hey~ does anyone know if there's any reason I'd need to file our license with our county courthouse? Amy
  20. My mom ordered these for our AHR. She was so excited when she found them! They're blue and green and some say "Kevin and Amy 07-05-07", and the others say "Congrats"~ I think- had a few drinks tonight!!!! She also ordered some Hershey Kisses that say, I think, "Best Wishes" or "Congratulations". We're mixing the M&M's and kisses and putting them in little metal tins. Amy
  21. I really like the picnic basket idea decorated with shells and ribbon. I'm going to Michael's today, so I'll see what I can find. Thanks for the ideas! Amy
  22. Yesterday I went to the Social Security Office. Had NO idea what an "interesting" place that was! After sitting there for 50 minutes (should've brought a book!), my # was called. I only have my spanish marriage license, so I wasn't sure if this would work. It also said on the form that you needed a license which had your old and new name- nobody in Mexico put my new name anywhere- I guess they wouldn't know if you were changing your name or not. Anyway, the guy asked me some questions about my parents' info, struggled to figure out the spanish license, and finally accepted it! Told me I'd get my new card in the next week or so! I'm going to the DMV today~ wish me luck that it goes as well, and that my pic is OK- I like my old one and don't want to change it!!! Amy
  23. I just placed my first Vistaprint order. I ordered 250 thank-you postcards (of my siggy pic) and enevelopes, a free address stamp, free business cards for my lia sophia business, and a free notepad for school (it has a tropical pic and says "From the Desk of Mrs. Lindell"). At first, I didn't have a coupon code or anything, so I did a search and found a deal for 50% off the entire order!!!! So, I think my final total came to around $50 or so! Hopefully I like the quality! I checked out Snapfish, and those postcards are $1.00 each- mine came to $0.10 each!!! Just had to share! Amy
