My DH and I met from Cupid.com (another Canadian thing). We both had the "free" profiles - which you could browse profiles but not really contact people without paying for a subscription...but we were both sneaky and put our email addresses in amongst our descriptions of ourselves. I contacted him by email, he replied and added me to his MSN Messenger and we chatted for 6 hours straight that same night! We met in person 1 week later (after countless hours chatting online) and haven't been apart a day since!!!! We are a perfect match! Lindsay

We got married in Mexico in mid-February and had our AHR on June 30th last year - we really wanted to have it during nice weather, and the wait wasn't a big deal - we did a TON of DIY projects for it, so it was nice to have the extra 4 months after the wedding to get it done, plus it allowed us time to make our video and slideshow and everything....my dress still fit - luckily!!! Lindsay

That TA probably has a group rate for your SIL. In order to qualify for the group rates, there needs to be a minimum of 10 adults booked to travel on the same dates - it doesn't always have to be departing from the same city - it depends on the tour operator)...In order to secure the group rates, those 10 deposits are required for the trip. If your SIL doesn't get 10 people reserved through that particular TA, she will lose the deposit, and any people that are booked will not be able to get the group rates... Sometimes the bride and groom make the full deposit for the 10 passengers to guarantee their rates, then when other guests call to book, their deposits are added to the booking and the initial $2000 gets credited back to the bride and groom (toward the cost of the trip). If the bride & groom don't want to/can't put the deposits down for the group, then everyone can book through the same TA - as CayoLargo suggested...that is what most of my groups end up doing...I have the guests contact me and each put their deposits. down... We made those for our AHR!!! Put up a ton of them in the hall to make the ugly space prettier! Here is a pic: The only thing with ours is they turned out flatter on the top that I would have liked, (My "fluffers" didn't quite get it - but there were so many to do that I had to take all the help that I could get! I LOVE the Burros Bar - it's our favorite place to grab a margarita and relax in the shade!!! It will be an awesome place for your welcome dinner!! I've only ever had margaritas and tortillas/salsa there -but everything was very good (excellent margaritas btw - lots of flavors!) I will see if I can find any photos of the bar from our past trips - I'm sure I've got a few - I'll check when I get home! Lindsay

Hi Vegas brides!!! I'm attending a conference in Vegas in October - and will be staying at the Red Rock - Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa, Las Vegas It is located off the strip, and looks like a beautiful property!!! I'm thinking I may try to set up a meeting with the wedding coordinator at the resort - in case anyone is looking for a place that isn't on the strip! I will do a full review and post pics when I get back!! Lindsay

Generally speaking - the closer you are to your departure date, the higher the airfares will get, because as the lower classes of service (the "cheaper" seats) get sold out, the fares increase...it's not always the case, but I find that is usually what happens...up here at least! Lindsay

Haha - Tara, I was the same way! I obsessed about everything up until the day of the wedding, then the day of, I was in total relaxation mode - just really excited and happy that all I had to do was put my dress on about 4:30!!!!! Lindsay

I'm so late on this thread - I know I don't post that much, but I do have several "crushes" aka: people whose posts I stalk just to keep up to date with them! I definitely can't name just one - but Tammy(host), TammyB, Ann, Jamy, LCRachel, Yari, Tara(TVT) - (pretty much all of the LC brides have a special place in my heart), Sarah, and all of the other "oldies" that were part of the forum when I joined - and are still hangin' around after their weddings! I love this whole forum - I feel like I've got hundreds of sisters out there - and that is what is truly remarkable - everyone is so close on here! Lindsay

LOL - that's the most amazing thing about getting married at LC - almost everyone is a "chill" bride on the big day - Nicole, Kelly and their staff do such an amazing job and you don't have to lift a finger or worry about a single thing all day!!! It was FANTASTIC! I didn't even have to carry anything up to the bridal suite - Nicole grabbed our dresses and my bag and hauled it up the hill for me! All I had to do was relax and enjoy the beautiful LC all day - and then get dressed! 'sigh I want to go back girls!!!! Lindsay

I don't have anything too interesting...we live year-round in a little cottage community about 1/2 an hour outside of Regina - "Regina Beach" we are at the top of the hill in the Qu'Appelle Valley (not lakefront unfortunately!). The view from our front yard is nothing but prairie - we get beautiful sunsets and sunrises over the lake. The population of our town doubles in the summer when people come to their cottages. We commute to work every day - it takes us about 45 minutes from our front door to the office. I'm allergic to nickel as well - and the same thing happened with my white gold ring...which is why i had to get a yellow gold e-ring and wedding band! As the other girls have mentioned, see if your jeweler can plate it for you! Lindsay
