Yep, we got married here the night before we left for Puerto Vallarta. No one knew about it except for my parents and Ed's mom. We went over to the marriage commissioner's house after work on the Thursday and got married - took all of 15 minutes and it was done! My parents were our witnesses. We avoided having to do all the legal stuff (paperwork, translations, notarizing copies of translated documents, etc.) and we avoided the blood tests in Mexico, and the 3 day waiting period. None of our guests were any wiser, and to us it was "the real wedding" anyways -all the rest was just paperwork. We didn't dress up or anything, no rings or anything like that...just "I do, he does - let's go!" Lindsay

I met my husband on a Friday the 13th - so that's a lucky day for me!!! If you want to get married before going to Mexico - it's SUPER easy - been there done that, I can even give you the Marriage Commissioner's name and phone number! - and you can get married on whatever day you want in Mexico!!! Unfortunately not, LC is on the south part of Banderas Bay and the sunset is hidden by the bottom part of the bay....you may be able to see a sunset in the summer, I'm not sure, but definitely not in the winter. The sunset is breathtaking from PV though!

A 5 night stay at ResortQuest Kauai Beach Hotel at Makaiwa in Hawaii!!!!! I did some training for work through Resort Quest Hotels and I answered all of the quiz questions correctly and my name was drawn for the trip!!!! I am so excited, I have always wanted to go to Hawaii, Kauai especially!!!! If anyone has any tips/hints/advice or things to do/places to go in Hawaii, please let me know - I have a lot of research to do!!!!!!!! Lindsay

Funny I came across this post - it's our two year engagement anniversary today!!! We're not getting gifts or anything - but we did say "Happy Engagement Anniversary" this morning!!! The only reason I remember is b/c it is Cinco de Mayo and I thought it was so cool b/c we got married in Mexico - engaged on Cinco de Mayo....really it was just a fluke b/c it's the day he picked the ring up from the jeweler and he couldn't wait another second to give it to me!!! Hmm, I'm really not very much help...I've been to LC several times, but it's always been in February or March. We got married in February and had just enough time for photos before it got dark...that really doesn't help with November...other than the days start getting shorter from June through December, when they are shortest - and then they start getting longer again...(I think - unless I'm having a total blonde moment right now...!) (It's been awhile!) Mid February is about 2 months after the days start getting longer - and October is about 2 months before the shortest day of the year...so maybe the sunset times would be similar?? Or maybe my brain is a 'lil mushy right now. I will see if I can find a sunset calculator for PV!! Sorry for the long (and confusing) post! Lindsay

Our gas here is $1.27/litre - so about the same - $4.76/gallon!!! It costs us about $70 to fill our Tuscon!!! I miss my little car! Lindsay

I think poutine - but that's not very packable!!! LOL!!! You girls have me craving ketchup chips now!! I can't think of anything - we always go across the border to buy all the stuff we can't get here!!! Lindsay

I go to the Wednesday night meetings at St Mary's - not sure if I want to keep going to that meeting or not - I don't really like the leader that much - I used to do Saturday mornings at Wesley in the south end, but then I started here and have to work every 2nd Saturday... so that doesn't work. We live at Regina Beach, so it's better if I can go to a meeting during the week before we head home... ~L

We're heading back to Banff this summer for some camping - I can't wait!!! I think we're going to climb sulpher mountain this time around - just up the path under the gondolas - that will be a big enough feat for me!!!! Lindsay
