DH and I plan on going back to LC at least twice while we are there (during the day and at night!) I was considering doing a vow renewal for our 3rd anniversary while we are there (just DH and I) but I'm not sure yet....have to think on it some more... Lindsay
  2. Oh my goodness! Yari!! Congrats!!!! So exciting that another BDW Las Caletas baby is on the way! Lindsay

You must be getting so excited - heck I'm excited for you - wish I could stow away in a suitcase!!! Lindsay PS: 'search' protector = "surge" protector...
  4. Here is what I found: "Tourists are allowed to take their personal effects which include the articles (new or used) that they reasonably need for their holidays (according the length and purpose of the trip), plus: sport equipment, jewels, photographic camera, camcorder, cellular phones, blackberries, laptops, Ipods, MP3 players, video games, hair dryers, electric shavers, binoculars, one portable radio receiver, tape recorder, one portable music instrument and a sound recording device." . 5. I haven't seen any pics from weddings there, but we have had several clients stay at the Tryp and have come back and raved about the resort!!! I guess the food is really good (and that's saying something for Cuba!), and the staff are very good at the resort....very clean, very nice...and lots of activities - there is something for everyone here! I'll see if I can find any photos or reviews of weddings here... Lindsay
  6. There are tons of clubs in PV open to all hours of the morning! My favorites are Christine Club, Collage, Sr. Frogs, Carlos O'Briens, Hilo, Zoo Bar, (ok, that's too many favorites!) LOL I guess where I would suggest going depends on the size of your wedding group/how many people would be going - you may be able to reserve some tables or a section of the club for your group if you go to the bar the day before! There are also several clubs that are lower key - I can't think of the names right now (the one at the Westin??), and I know there is a rooftop one as well....not sure how late they are open, but these would be more of a laid-back atmosphere for sure...I guess it all depends what you are looking for...I'm sure all the other PV girls will have lots of ideas too! Lindsay
  7. We have the shamwows - we bought them at a tradeshow thing this summer...they work pretty good...we don't have carpet so I can't really try the whole soaking it up through the carpet thing - but they worked pretty good at drying the dogs off after their baths - plus I use it as a tea towel to set my dishes on to dry when I'm doing dishes....I like them, but not sure it's *quite* as exciting as the commercials portray it to be! LOL We also have the magic bullet blender and I bought Nads hair removal stuff way back when...but I've always bought stuff from the stores, never off the shopping channel. Oh - I also have a cricut, which i LOVE, but I didn't know that it was something they sold on tv too!?! Lindsay
  8. I also had no idea you have another little one on the way!! I've been so busy, I haven't been around much - Congratulations!!! Lindsay
  9. Maeghan - I just had a look at your photos - your wedding was gorgeous! May I ask where you got your Bridesmaid's dresses? What style/designer are they - they are stunning! (my best friend is getting married in January 2010 and I'd like to show her these!) Lindsay

The one by the 'stadium' is just up the road/hill from the Sheraton...that's the one we always have gone to (we know the owner!) - it's a really tiny restaurant though! LOVE the coconut shrimp there - it's one of my faves in PV too! No suggestions for photos - I've always used photobucket and I hate it! LOL Lindsay
  11. Your pics are beautiful!!! I love the arch with the flowers/draping on it! Lindsay
  12. Congrats on your wedding!!! Glad everything was perfect! I haven't had a chance to look at your pics yet, but I will do that right away! Which 8 Tostadas did you go to? (There is one by the marina and one by the stadium) I love that restaurant! Lindsay
  13. We live at Regina Beach... Minton sounds familiar, but I'm not exactly sure where it it! Lindsay
  14. DH and I were driving home last night - we live in a small town 1/2 an hour north of Regina - so we were on the highway when this Meteor went overhead - we weren't sure what the heck it was at the time - a plane crashing, or if we were being bombed or what - it was SO neat - and a 'lil scary! Here's the article from and Edmonton Newspaper: Watchers gaze up in wonder as light flashes across sky Here's a couple of videos of the meteor: This is similar to what we saw: YouTube - meteor crash in alberta better footage Here's another video: YouTube - Police dash cam of Meteor over Edmonton, Canada It was pretty cool! Lindsay
  15. I wish we had black Friday here - sounds like so much fun! I love shopping!
  16. Tara - I'm so glad you guys had the wedding of your dreams - your day sounds a lot like ours did - I'm so glad everything went perfectly!!! congratulations again - you were a beautiful bride!! Your review made me a little teary too - brings back all of the memories of our day - almost 2 years ago now! Thanks for posting your review, congrats again - can't wait to see some more pics! Lindsay
  17. Thanks for the great review! It sure brings back a lot of memories!!! My dress never caught fire from the candles, but I did manage to knock two or three of the candle holders down the staris on my way down to the beach at the start of the ceremony - I had a grand entrance, complete with breaking glass!!! Can't wait to see your photos - we used Roberto as well - isn't he the greatest to work with!!?? Lindsay
  18. Congratulations!!! I hope your day is everything you have been dreaming of! Can't wait to see your photos and hear your review when you get home!!!! Enjoy today - it goes by so fast! Lindsay
  19. Hi Constance! Welcome to the forum. There wasn't any damage to Playa Pesquero from the hurricanes - it was mostly just debris and clean up. In fact, Playa Pesquero was the hotel most of the people were sent to after the other hotels were damaged! Everything is back to normal now! Lindsay

I must admit I'm pretty surprised at some of it, having been married there myself and not had some of the issues you did. Nicole shouted at your parents about the cake, really? That so doesn't seem like her, not that I don't believe you, but wow! She was sweet as pie to us and our guests, especially my parents who raved about her. She packed up the cake for us...we weren't thinking towards the end and would have left it if not for her. I'm sorry your stuff didn't get passed out, I didn't have that issue, but I know how much work you put into your stuff. It sounds like our boat rides were similar...I think all brides with a boat related wedding anywhere should know that seasickness is a very real possibility. Was your boat ride back smooth? It seems like the ride to LC is far worse than the return trip. Overall I'm glad you are seeing above the trivial stuff and are just happy to have married Brian in a beautiful place. Your pics are awesome!! I must agree with everything Jamy said! I'm so sorry not everything went as you had planned it...I'm so glad that you were able to look past it and enjoy your wedding - it was definitely beautiful and your pictures are phenomenal! I was also surprised about the cake situation - that is so unfortunate! Nicole packaged our cake up for us really nicely in containers...unfortunately my cousin dropped them when he was getting off the boat back at the marina and we had cake mush too - which my dad then proceeded to throw in the garbage! I could have cried! (wait, I did cry!). If I remember correctly, I don't think my bubbles got passed out to my guests either, which was unfortunate (I don't think I ever mentioned that!) - especially when you do spend a lot of time and effort making everything perfect for your day! All of that being said, I'm so glad that you were able to look past the small stuff and focus on the bigger picture - you married the man of your dreams in an amazing, beautiful ("dreamy") location! Congrats again and thanks for posting your honest review - I'm sure all of the future LC brides (and non-LC brides) will find it extremely helpful! Lindsay
  21. Heather - I'm so sorry to hear this!! You are all in my prayers! Lindsay
