What your TA did is not acceptable! She messed everything up. Uggh so annoying. Maybe you could try explaining to this Renee person that all of these rooms that are booked are booked b/c of your wedding and maybe she will be a little more flexible with things. I can't believe you can't see anything before paying for it. Are you allowed to look at pics and choose from a couple of them which flowers you would like. At least that would be fair. And if I were you I would get an outside photographer and bring them in as a guest. Kori used the photographer at Sandals in Negril and she was not happy with the quality of the pics and wishes she had gotten an outside photographer. Just something to think about.

You don't need to get private catering the hotel provides catering for you. Simple and easy.

I like eweddings.com. Edyta used that site. I am a completely technologically impaired and I was able to use it. It is not cheesy and it lets you add lots of features, pics, and music.

The resort pics are great, I can't wait to see the wedding pics!

Great review! Very detailed and organized, just the way we like it! I can't wait for your pics. When is Juan going to be done with them? I guess we should cut him some slack considering that he has been doing a million weddings in the past couple of weeks. I'm so glad everything worked out and that the RIU worked out. Karla amazing review! I found it very interesting that you didn't use flowers. I can't wait to see pics of what that looks like. The Westin and the One & Only sound amazing. I feel like leaving tomorrow. LOL. I am sooooooo glad that the pashminas were a hit! Its always nerve racking to buy something for someone and not know whether they are going to like it or not. But luckily your guests got use out of them. Juan better hurry up with the pics!

I'm just curious for those that are not planning to pay for their guests day pass for the day of the wedding. How are you going to tell your guests that they need to pay a certain fee to attend your wedding? Are you going to mention it in your website? Word of mouth? I have to be honest (and I mean no disrespect by this) but I can't even imagine a guest arriving the day of my wedding all dressed up after having flown in from New York and having some guy at the door tell them they have to pay x amount to get into the resort. I guess as long as people know beforehand than at least its okay. But at the same time it seems almost like your guest is being penalized for not being able to stay at the resort of your choice. What if they really want to be there but can't afford Resort X? Sorry if I sound rude, I don't mean to be I guess I'm just trying to sort this all out in my head.

I would say koozies, cigars, cheap sunglasses ( i notice guys like wearing aviators or sunglasses from movies they like), shot glasses, little bottles of tequila, or condoms. ~Random things I've noticed guys like: 1. the gold bond powder 2. nose hair clippers 3. weird hair wax to style their hair 4. rogaine that you spread throughout your hair and you can get over the counter. a lot of guys are really sensitive about losing their hair 5. at weddings i always see guys looking for shoe shine. so random. 6. t-shirts that say dumb things.

My suggestion is also not on your area list but how about Vermont? Specifically where Mount Snow and all those skiing sites are? If you go around September there is amazing mountain views and the most ridiculous foliage I have ever seen in my life. I go there every year. You can stay at the Equinox which is an upscale place (if you want to go that route) or you can rent a quaint little cabin home (all come equipped with fireplaces). The food in Vermont is to die for. And its away from everything so you get a relaxing weekend w/o cellphones or traffic. They are known for their amazing syrup (mmmm yummy breakfast) and delicious seafood. If you do rent a home it is so cheap and they are so cute. You will not break the bank there. My friend wants to spend her honeymoon here and then have all their friends come up a week later to relax and celebrate with them.

IMHO this is what I would do. I would make sure you specify either on your website or in a newsletter that if guests stay at the more economic friendly resort they will not permitted into the higher priced resort where all the guests will be. Most people want to stay where everyone else is staying. Along with this I would pass the word around through friends and family (especially if you have a bridal party) to casually let other guests know that if they don't stay at your resort it is going to end up costing you a day pass plus the cost of the reception. If I heard that it would give me more incentive to stay at the resort b/c I would feel terrible knowing the bride and groom had to tack on yet another expense. This way you don't look rude for mentioning it. However, in the end I would pay for whoever's day pass it is that needs to be purchased. While I know these things are crazy expensive I can't help but feel that its a tad tacky to ask someone to pay to come to your wedding. It just doesn't feel right to me. But that's just my opinion.

Ooooh Drea good luck. I know I wouldn't want to be in your shoes. Just try avoid speaking to her about the wedding as much as possible. Although that will probably be impossible. Won't she get mad though if you tell her in July that you are eloping? The way I see it, she is going to be mad no matter what. So you might as well tell her so that at least she has a chance to save a little from now until the end of July. Then again she could just make your life a living hell from now until then.

OMG the day is nearing and you are all getting married. This is crazy. It's like wedding fever on the forum. I don't even know how we'll keep up with it all but somehow we'll make do.
