  1. I just bought the armband, I think there is a special going on right now for the armband. You don't NEED the watch, but I think it would be nice to have so you can track throughout the day how many calories you've burned. I usually don't know until evening when I finally hook it up, but you do get to know your body and your habits, to give you a rough idea in your head about how much you're burning. I really like it, but over the past two months I've hardly used it. I actually wanted to start wearing it again this week, but haven't charged it yet. I need to do that tonight!
  2. Hi Judy, as Maria said, they're are only a couple of wedding coordinators and they are overworked, but they do a fantastic job. Have you received the questionnaire yet from Cecilia? That's usually the first thing they send once you've reserved the date. Once they receive that they will typically put together a contract and send it out to you and request a deposit. But don't get nervous if you haven't given a deposit yet, they will reserve a date even without a deposit, they are not very strict in enforcing the deposit policy. If you haven't already, I would ask Cecilia to send you the contract and information for paying the deposit. But if you've already emailed her recently, you may want to sit tight, sometimes it does take a bit to get a response.

Did your coordinator give you a detailed list of each items value? i just dont know how to go about asking to change things.... I know everyone gets really frustrated with the whole trade process. Some people get one thing, others get another. The thing to keep in mind is that you are actually getting a bargain by doing the package because if you price everything out individually you will be paying a LOT more. So even though you may not get all the trades you want, or not get what you feel is the full value of the trade, you are still getting a great price. And of course you always have the option to do a smaller package, that you don't need to make a lot of trades with or not do a package at all and just buy everything a la carte. Believe me, I was in the same position that all of you were and I wanted my trades for the stuff I wasn't using! So I know how you feel! But we have to remember that they are running a business as well and have to do what is the most cost effective for them. I think they have really put a tight leash on the wedding coordinators and what they will allow now for trade.
  4. Mel, I really love your style of photography, you really have an eye for catching the special and unique moments. I wish I could get married again just so I could hire you to be my photographer
  5. Welcome to the forum! We love OBX! We go every year with a big group of friends, we'll be heading down in a few weeks, I can't wait!

Based on another post (I think it was your post) reviewing a number of resorts, it takes approximately 3 months to work out the kinks? We would have at least 7 months so figure that would give us a good buffer. This whole booking a resort is a tough decision, but we think we are close. Oh, one more questions TA Jill - have you ever heard of the Hotel Marina El Cid Spa & Beach Resort (Puerto Moreles)? If you have, any comments on it? Thanks! as of right now, one of the weddings I'm working on at DRC, I'm working with the wedding coordinator from Dreams Cancun. I have looked at Hotel Marina El Cid, and it looks very nice online, but I don't really have any first hand knowledge of this resort.

I'm still in for trading dvd's, I can use any motivation I can get!
  8. I spoke to the regional director of sales last week and they are on track to open October 2009 and are now accepting reservations. I did ask if the hotel would be fully operational at that time and he said that the construction would be done and there would not be construction crews all over the place, but that some of the buildings may not be fully operational at that time. Obviously, they want to increase their business as quickly as possible, so they're going to be working quickly to get everything up and running, so I wouldn't foresee their being a problem with a 2010 wedding. They do have the pricing now and as I mentioned are accepting reservations. Very exciting, I can't wait to go check out the new resort!
  9. Congratulations everyone on your weight losses! I still haven't been able to fix my scale, so I got DQ'ed, but that's okay! Congrats Holly, that's a huge loss!
  10. I'm glad Mo posted before me because it saved me a lot of typing, lol! Mo nailed every aspect of the job, there's good and bad, and it is important to know that you do wait a long time to get paid, when you think about how far out people typically book vacations, especially weddings. I'm happy to answer any questions anyone has as well, but everything Mo said mirrors what I would have said. Maybe TA Jennifer will chime in as well, I know Tammy won't be around much the next few days.
  11. Why is the guy that offered full price arguing with it? It's the seller's choice to go with whichever offer they choose, I don't understand why he thinks he has grounds to take it to court. Unless there's more to this story. I worked in real estate for several years, I never heard of any situations like this, but there has to be more to it.
  12. You're so sweet Jenn I'm so happy for you and Joe and glad that overall everything went well. Isn't the video fantastic!!?? I didn't even care about getting a video, but when I got ours I was blown away, it was SO GOOD! I should've mentioned that to you about the songs he uses. he used our ceremony songs too and then one random song and I really would have liked to have had our first dance song in there. (PS, I love Brad Paisley's "Then")

  14. I love GH and all the ABC soaps, I DVR all of them. I don't have a lot of prime time shows that I watch, so I usually watch these at night if I have time. I went through a long period of time not watching because of work, etc... but now with the DVR, I tape everything!
  15. I'm sorry I missed weigh in this week ladies! Our list is getting shorter and shorter every week! There's something wrong with my scale again, I'm going to try replacing the battery, but we just replaced it about a month ago, so I don't think it can be dead again, I'm ready to go buy another one, but this one was expensive! Either way, I'll either have this one fixed or a new one by next weigh in. I went to the gym tonight, have been slacking on that lately, but it felt good to workout! I think I'll go and do step again in the morning so I don't find an excuse at night not to go good luck this week everyone and congratulations Erica!

Thank you! mmm, sugar cookies, I love those! Thanks everyone!
  17. I love the ocean water scent!! It's my favorite! We have a store in our town and also one of the YC "seconds" shops. The lady at the seconds shops told me that they don't make ocean water anymore. So I guess whatever stock is left at the factory and in the stores will be it. They always discontinue the scents I love!
  18. Congratulations Jen!! I'm so glad you had a great time and that they took good care of you! I'm sorry about the A/C thing in your room, that's a bummer, the same thing happened to us when we were there, but they were able to fix it. You looked beautiful and I love your flowers. Congratulations again!

I hope they took good care of you and your guests!
  20. My husband never asked me, however he's gotten on the scale in front of me and then just expected that I would get on it after him, ...hmmm..., NO I don't think so! I'm very uncomfortable with my weight, I always have been. I've been trying to lose but it's like a never ending battle. But when I do finally get to a point where I'm more comfortable, I feel like then I'll be able to tell him. He's been skinny his whole life and never had to worry about what he ate, so even though he's gained a lot of weight the past year, it doesn't really bother him to get on the scale and share his weight, because he knows he can drop the weight he's gained in a matter of weeks (SO UNFAIR!)

It consist of eating no whites (which are freaking everything on earth such as rice bread milk) 3days a week and eating all fruit and veggies before 12pm and like we can only drink all natural fruit juice or hot tea and 32 oz water per day. I know this doesn't sound that bad but omg doing it just really doesn't work for my lifestyle, to be honest I totally forgot I was on the darn diet.... My FI cracked me yesterday when i told him I was going to the gym (for the 1st time, had membership for almost 3 months i think) tomm for the intro class. He just looked at me and fell out laughing. So today when I called him to get the # to the gym so that I could call to sched my class (I called him while at my parents weekly bbq) he again cracked up laughin. That time I got really upset. He is really open ab the idea that he hates that I wanna lose weight bc he thinks I'm fine. But now he's laughing at me bc he thinks I'm lazy:-( Then my mom who just bought her mother-of-the-bride-dress (and has recently loss over 20lbs) decides that in the middle of the cookout she wants to bring out the scale so that we could all weigh ourselves and play guess each other's weight. That had to be the most humiliating game I've ever played bc I weighed more than everyone else. Also my aunt who's going through a terrible divorce lost a tremendous amt of weight in the past couple months so it was bad for her eventhough her weight had went down, we all knew why so it was like the elephant in the room thing. Sorry for being so long winded... But I really needed to vent. OMG, that's AWFUL!! I wouldn't have played, lol!! I don't even like getting on the scale when I'm the only one in the room, never mind in a group of people!! How was the gym?? Now that I've gotten into a routine, I actually look forward to my workout most days. I was kind of bummed I didn't make it to the gym tonight. DH lost 15 lbs right before the wedding by just giving up processed whites (sugar and white flour). his suit was too big on wedding day. and he's already back into doing it again, so i need to start on something again soon or i'll gain back all the weight i lost! i participated in BLs 3, 4, and 5. my goal was never outrageous ... i just wanted to weigh about the same as i did when DH and i started dating 4 years earlier, by the time the wedding came around, and i achieved exactly that! i credit 90% of that to the support of this forum, and having to stay accountable to someone by sending my weight every week. the other 10% was anxiety, lol. so when does this round end and the next round begin? i'm hoping not until after i get home from our honeymoon in ireland! congratulations on your weight loss! This season ends mid July, not sure on the exact date. Ireland... that's going to be fun!!
  22. I missed last nights episode, forgot to dvr it. it was pretty outrageous the first night, I'm not even sure it's worth watching, lol!
  23. The only problem with your dilemna is that Dreams RC is not accepting reservations yet, so you'd have to hold off on sending out information until you could confirm a date which may not be until the end of the summer or into the fall, depending on when they are ready to open. So there's no guarantee that you'll be able to get the same date and if the opening gets delayed, you could be waiting a long time to finalize your plans. sorry, don't want to rain on your parade, but just want you to have all of the information before you make a change of plans. Good luck
  24. I'm SO SORRY! He sounds completely awful, I would have been so disappointed if I had hired him. When I was looking for a photographer I had contacted him, but couldn't find any reviews here about him, and ended up going with someone else, whose style I liked better. My husband gave me a hard enough time about spending money for a photographer, I can't imagine what he would have said if we hired this guy! Thank you for posting an honest review I really think it will help future brides.
