  1. you can get married in mexico on a sunday, but it would just be a symbolic ceremony, not a legal one. You may already be really far into your planning and that may not be an option, but just thought I'd throw it out there.

But, I'm also not sure how good everyone could hear what was being said. The officiant did wear a mic, so you could hear him perfectly on our video. But with the wind, I'm not sure how good our guests could hear.

We don't use credit cards and I didn't want to use our debit card, that's why we brough travelers checks.
  4. my husband and his group went the day after the wedding and when they got back they were all so wiped out from being on a boat all day and 5 out of the 8 of them were so sick, that none of them felt like doing anything the rest of the day. I think my hubby was in bed at 8 pm. They didn't even drink much on the trip. So, I would definitely advise against a trip the day of the wedding.
  5. Just for some added motivation for you ladies, I do watch the biggest loser and the last two seasons a woman has won! And this season, there is woman currently in the lead and she could definitely win! Any of us could win this, we just have to push ourselves harder.
  6. Jenn, I love your new dress!! It's so, so pretty, you're going to be a beautiful bride! I'll change the title for you now.

How did that work out and how big was your group? Any advice will help. I'm pretty much waiting til I get there to make all my decisions, but it sounds like I should maybe figure out the music thing. Yes, we used a docking station instead. We had about 25 people and I thought it seemed silly to have a DJ and we didn't want to pay for the sound system when we could buy a docking station and have it forever. It worked great, I setup playlists for each part of the wedding and our friends helped out with pausing it during speeches or switching the playlists during the ceremony, etc... Ours worked great and everything but I would have rather bought the bose one, how do you like yours? I broke a piece on the one we have now, it still works, but eventually I want to buy a new one and thats the one I want. I also didn't want to use my debit card to pay the balance of the wedding because our daily limit is low and it would have been a pain in the butt!
  8. My dad owns a greenhouse business, certain types of herbs he will usually have year round, usually rosemary, which would be pretty. He usually does bowls with several different herbs and people really love them. I think they'll make beautiful centerpieces assuming you can find what you need at that time of year. I would check with your local nurseries and greenhouses and ask them if they carry small potted herbs at your time of year, just so you can be prepared.
  9. Great gift idea Tammy! I'm sure Cain absolutely loved it and will treasure if forever.
  10. Oh, and another FYI, DJ Doremixx will be an approved vendor there by next week, he will have to be booked through dreams and the price is $280 per hour +10% tax
  11. Hey Everyone, Just wanted to let you know that I discussed the discount Mannia is offering for BDW brides with Claudia and she said they would honor it on new bookings. Just thought I'd let everyone know in case they were considering hiring him. Jill

I went to try my wedding dress on for the first time. It is a separate and I tried to pull the skirt up and it stopped just at my theighs. We looked to see if it had more zipper to pull down but no luck. I then attempted to pull it over my head and still it would not go around my big butt! I have lost 20 lbs since I tried on the sample skirt which is the same size as the one I ordered so I figured it would fall off me. Well to make a long story short...after some careful research by my bridesmaid (who was livid by the way) noticed that the sample on the floor was labeled wrong and I ordered 2 sizes too small. THEY DID NOT EVEN MEASURE ME! I was not aware of the fact that wedding dresses run so small so when I ordered a 10 I figured I would be fine as seeing I am now in a size 6-8. They then had to take the seam out on both sides (about an inch total) so it could just barely fit! It is a trumpet (mermaid) skirt and I am quite endowed in the butt area so I am a little concerned about the whole "splitting" issue! I KNEW I SHOULD HAVE ORDERED THE A-LINE!! Guess I will eat again in 2 months and 1 day. I guess if I did not lose it at that point I am free and clear not to freak out for the next 2 months!! OMG Jen! I would have freaked out! I can't believe they didn't measure you just to be sure. I hope they didn't make you pay for the alterations, since it was their mistake.

I used it for 3 months, didn't keep up my part of the bargin (you know, the working out and eating right part) and didn't lose any weight. So I promptly put it away in a drawer. Fast forward to last spring. After graduating I didn't realize exactly how much weight I had put on in school until I went to the doctor and actually saw the number on the chart. I went home and cried. Then I pulled out my bodybugg, reactivated it and got to work. I lost 50lbs and went from 36% body fat to 21%. It wasn't easy and it's not a magic pill BUT what it does do is remind you that it's all a numbers game. If you eat more calories than you burn you gain, if you burn more than you eat you lose. And when the numbers are right in front of you it's hard to ignore. A couple things to consider: Monthly fee to use the online program: 14.99 I think + the cost of the bugg and misc stuff you need to work it. It takes some time and effort to keep up with the food log input but once you get in a routine it gets easier. It's useless if you don't honestly record what you're eating and take the time to input foods you eat that aren't in the database. Remember, if you lie to yourself about portion sizes the only one you're hurting is you. So...that's my experience. If you have any questions or want some ideas for tricks I learned just PM me, I'm happy to discuss it. Good luck-you can do it! Yay!! I'm so glad you posted! Today was my first day back at the gym after being sick and I busted my butt! I really love the bodybugg website, I love all the information that it pulls together for you regarding what you eat and your calories. Mine actually came with a 6 months subscription, so that helped, then I can probably just switch to the $14.99 a month afterwards. Yes, I did find the food log to be a little time consuming, but once you enter the things you eat frequently, it's not so bad because they're right there. So I think it will be okay once I get more items logged. I'm a little bit obsessed with wanting to see how many calories I'm burning!! Once I get a little further into it I will probably have questions for you. I just have to see how its working for me before I can guage what I may or may not be doing right. Today I had a loose 3/4 length sleeve, and you couldn't tell I had it on. But as Vikki mentioned, you can wear it once, and if you basically do the same thing everyday you can have it estimate your burn the same as the day before. But I'm really obsessed with it, so I'd rather wear it.
  14. uggh! My husband quit a few days ago, he started taking chantix 2 weeks ago, and his doctor gave him a quit date of after easter, so he was still smoking and taking the medicine and was still a JERK! We didn't talk for most of last week. So on saturday he decided he was ready to stop and hasn't smoked since and he's taking his medicine. I really hope it works because I can't stand to be around the smoke and I hate how all of my clothes and stuff smell like smoke.
  15. It came yesterday and I've been kind of obsessed with it since it came. I really like uploading the information to the website and seeing what I've done for the day and pulling it all together with my food log. I've been sick for the past week, so I haven't made it to the gym in the last few days, but I'm hoping to go tomorrow so that I can really test this thing out! I'll be the bodybugg guinea pig, I'll keep everyone posted.
  16. I'm back in this season! I took last season off and was able to lose 20 lbs, but I'm sort of stuck and I'm hoping this will be the needed motivation I need to keep myself focused! I'm adding the banner now, Ann, I'll be sending my payment shortly.

  18. Hey Ladies, Didn't know if you saw this thread on the forum, but maybe it can help save some of you a little bit of money on the DJ http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t40125

We used a different brand, but it's pretty much identical to the BodyBugg (just designed for research, not gyms). I got to wear one for a week as well. They're not the most accurate devices in the universe, but they do give you a pretty good idea of your activity level. I think you should ask yourself whether you think you'll end up using this for an extended period of time. For $200, I think you should only buy it if you're really going to get a lot of use out of it. It's a lot of money to spend! Maybe you and some friends could go in on one together and share it. I was satisfied with wearing the thing for a week, and I don't really have any desire to wear it again. It can't give you any advice about what changes you can make to your diet or exercise. All it is doing is reporting the raw numbers (calories burned, steps taken, average METS, etc). So, you might be better off spending the money on a consultation with a trainer or nutritionist if you're looking for advice. Also, please, please take the thing off for at least an hour every day to let your arm rest - about 15% of the people who wore them for a week straight ended up with rashes, irritations or open sores on their arms. Keep in mind that they had thin skin because they're elderly, but still...you don't want a nasty rash! Good luck! Yes, I agree it is a lot of money to spend, I've been thinking about it for awhile. I've been trying to lose weight for awhile, I've been a yo-yo dieter for so long, but I've committed myself to this, but I'm getting really frustrated. I'm working out 4-5 times a week, but I don't think I'm eating enough. That's really why I want this, to help me with how many calories I'm burning, so that I'll have a better idea of how much I should be eating to lose. It's such a slap in the face to feel like I can't lose weight because I'm not eating enough, when all my life I've struggled with my weight because I eat too much. I know it won't give me any advice, lol! but I just need the numbers to see where I'm at. If I don't like it and it doesn't work, I'll put it on ebay
  20. I'm ordering it right now, I will definitely let everyone know what I think!
