Last time he did this dreams gave a bit of a discount as well, if the brides mentioned to the WC the promotion that was being offered. But I think it's only if you don't already have him booked, just new bookings.

Claudia is actually the head coordinator, so if people have noticed that Cecilia is not allowing as many trades as she was in the past, it is probably because they've discussed with her what is, and what is not an option.
  4. Welcome and good luck with your planning!
  5. Congratulations on your engagement! Yes, as Carolina mentioned there is lots of information on the forum about Dreams Cancun. You can either go to the Cancun/Riviera Maya section of the forum to find them or you can search up at the top for dreams cancun and you'll find lots of information to help you in your planning. Good Luck!

As TA Jennifer mentioned, suppliers almost always include transfers and if not I let my clients know right away. In most cases, everyone takes the transfers so I just include them and deduct them out if the couple tells me they want to do a private transfer. You may want to check into some transfer companies for prices, such as cancun transfers or lomas travel. I got prices from Lomas this morning to the royal pdc and I want to say it was around $45 per person, round trip. They also have options that accomodate more people, and the cost isn't per person, it's just one set fee for the vehicle.

Is that the typical experience for the brides who've already gotten married? I have long hair and would ideally like to wear it down....but from the pictures I've seen, it appears that wouldn't be possible given the amount of wind. Secondly, Lindsey (JuneWddingDreams) would you mind sharing your travel agent information with me? We have a rather large group we are inviting to the wedding (initial estimate about # to actually attend is 80 - 100) so I think we'll definitely need a good TA to help out. Thanks again and looking forward to getting to know everyone over the next year!! Yes, it's VERY windy! I didn't decide on my hair until I got there and I did have a veil. I ended up wearing my hair partially down and didn't wear my veil. Looking back, I kind of wish I would have wore my hair up all the way with my veil because pieces of my hair were falling out of place and blowing across my face during the ceremony.

I honestly didn't even want a video, but it was included so I figured why not. It came out SO good, we were very happy with it.

We are considering a Dreams Cancun wedding: 1) when i go to there website i wanted to see what a room rate would cost just as a hypothetical for my brother, his wife and their 3 kids all under the age of 10. it will not let me even select a room b/c it says I have exceeded the max. occupancy of 4 people per room. so then I went to expedia to try to book a hypothetical package deal and the same thing happened. Even if I were to leave off the 4 year old from the count for the room, they would still need to purchase an airline ticket for her so that doesnt work either. this makes no sense to me. obviously a married couple with 3 kids are going to stay together in one room. Has anyone had experience with this. 2) i saw alot of questions about cost for extra people beyond the 20 that the packages include but cant seem to find the answer. We are inviting 50 people, I am sure 10-15 will not come but my question is if we do the ultimate package with ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception dinner do you know what the cost is for someone not staying at the hotel beyond the 20person limit to attend these events? Also does the 20 that are included have to be staying at the dreams? 3) when I did a search for cost of the room, the cheapest I found was $400/night. That seems really high, I realize food etc. is included but is that what your guests are paying for an Oct./nov. time frame I guess I dont understand how I am supposed to assume where my guests will want to stay and when I am researching a resort, it seems like you are apying for a package deal but if 3/4 of your guests decide not to stay there well then the package deal isnt so hot anymore. How do you go about this? I am an idiot at all this clearly and could really use some guidance. thank you in advance, Toby Yes, as you have found online, the max occupancy for a room is 3 adults & 1 child or 2 adults & 2 children. They do have the connecting rooms as someone mentioned but there is limited availability. In answer to question #2, I think you're talking about the day pass fee. There seems to be some discrepancy with this fee, some people have been told $100 (which is what I had heard) but others were told if the guests arrived no more than an hour before the ceremony and left right after the reception there wouldn't be a fee. Although, I think for the most part, most guests for destination weddings stay at the same resort, at least that's been my experience with the weddings I've done. And then you would have the cost per person for cocktail hour & dinner which vary depending on the menu you choose.

  17. Cassie, did you specify a particular TA? If you did, you could just try reaching out to them through the forum as well. Most of us have our email addresses in our siggies, or if you click on the TA's name you should get an option to email or PM them. The requests don't come directly to us, but if you submitted on January 3rd and haven't heard anything I would assume it may not have gone through. Good Luck!
  18. Congratulations on your engagement and welcome to the forum! You'll find lots of information here to help you decide between those 3 resorts, good luck!
  19. El Dorado Royale & Casitas Royale are also beautiful for honeymoon options. And as someone mentioned above, Maroma beach is fabulous, so any of the resorts there will be great choices as well.

  21. He's gotten very good reviews from brides on this forum, if you search his name some review should pop up. some resorts you need to book the DJ direct, you should probably find out if your resort allows outside vendors first or if you have to book through them. Or you could try contacting Mannia direct and he will be able to tell you if you need to contact the resort to book him.

  23. Quote: Originally Posted by mcbride I was told that they will not hold a block of rooms for you unless you pay for all of them.....and that's definitely not going to work! I have a few friends who got married in Mexico and used a travel agent - each said the TA didn't do much. I'm booking through Orbitz this week and telling friends/family to do the same in order to get a good deal.....the sooner they book, the better. Dreams will give you a discount code of 20% if you book ten or more rooms. You WILL have to pay for those ten in order to get the code. However, your other guests will then get a discount code to use when they make their reservation - but they have to go through the resort for reservations. Even with the 20%, going directly through the resort is still more expensive than booking through Orbitz or Expedia. So I still haven't heard from Claudia.....we put our deposit down three weeks ago, but the website states that you need the deposit AND the contract in order to hold a date. This is the item I have been waiting for. Everything else can wait until we arrive or shortly before. Is everyone here just going off of the deposit, or are you waiting until you have the contract before solidifying travel plans? Just curious because Orbitz is non-refundable. Just a suggestion, but you might want to check out this thread regarding orbitz http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...a-beware-1041/ Just my opinion, but I would never put my wedding group in the hands of orbitz or any other online booking site. Think about it, you're planning the wedding of your dreams, you're planning to spend the week with family and friends and then you arrive at the resort and find out that several couples are being bumped to another resort, because it's overbooked!! I wouldn't want to take a chance like that. Also, keep in mind that you may see good rates right now on orbitz, but they may only have a few rooms available at that price. TA's can get group rates, you only pay a deposit for the rooms you want held, not the entire cost. Sometimes the resort will offer perks with group bookings. But TA's can also book individual travel for all of your guests and keep track of all of their travel information, so that you as a bride are not getting the calls. I'm not trying to tell you to use a TA or not, that's completely up to you, you seem to have made your decision. I'm posting this more as a public service announcement for the other brides that read this thread and aren't sure what to do, I want to make sure that they are educated and really know what they're getting into.
