  1. Yay! FCC is officially in session (since yesterday of course!). There's something remarkable about having a group of people together all with the same goals - weightloss (duh!), but also health and wellness! You lucky ladies with your huge boobies - I bet they DO weigh almost 15 pounds! I am a C so I can't join a busty bovines group but that's OK I am happy with them. LadyP - you must be losing so much weight with that kick-boxing sig! God, I wish it really worked like that! Anyway I was just lecturing my mother last night about how weight loss is not enough to keep you motivated. (OK, I totes stole that from my WW leader ) You have to focus on the other benefits - healthy, more energy, cuter clothes (Ok, she didn't actually mention that one), weddings for those who have ones coming up, improved self-esteem, etc. etc. Honestly I want to slap people who think it's a matter of "well just don't eat it"... ummmmm... if it was tyhat easy I wouldn't have been struggling with weight my whole life!!!!! It's about balance, which is why I think I like WW so much. I need those extra 35 flex points every week otherwise I feel deprived! And in fact I plan on using mine today Catherine - I'm sorry you feel like a fat cow (mooooo! from me) but I'm so glad you posted it up so we can all do this together. Seriously this thread is motivating me to go get on my stationary bike... I mean I haven't exercised all week! No reason - just lazy! Love you FCs!

Not bad at all for a big, delicious meal Have you tried the 1 point taco soup/veggy chili? I am obsessed with it. Literally. In fact my plan is to go home and make it AGAIN tonight! My poor DH is SO sick of it! Quote: right i can do salad allllll day everyday but my IBS does allow that. After day 3 or tooo much salad you may not want to be down wind from me TMI but funny. [/color] That makes sense. Do you think it's all the fiber? I know sometimes when I take Beano with a big meal like that it helps. But I do not have IBS so it may be different for you. What about cooked veggies - are those better? Quote: Originally Posted by JamaicaBride062108 Cathrine you are not a cow! I've had great success with Free Diet Plans at SparkPeople to really become aware of what I'm eating. I'm down 10 pounds so if I can do it , so can you! 10 pounds is awesome! Congrats! I like SparkPeople a lot too. For me since I already do WW it was too much to track on both sites but I think this is a great option for people who want an online community/tracker/coach for FREE! That is a great price! Quote: Originally Posted by Yari May I join the moo club? MOOOOO, I too am a fat cow. Ha! You're in! Honestly I don't actually think ANY of you are Fat Cows but the point is we FEEL like we are and together we will feel better! How about we start our own Fat Cow Club? People can use whatever method works for them but we can just support each other with ideas and motivation! maybe I will finally stop doing this so much!

I actually increase the cherry tomatoes to a whole 12 oz. (like a dry pint) and the hearts of palm to like 2 cups for an additional point and the whole thing comes out to 2.5 points and is VERY filling!

Hey, at least we're trying to do something about it, right? My other big secret is to add a HUGE (and I mean HUGE) salad onto my meals so that way I feel really full! My classic lunch salad is: mixed green steamed broccoli egg whites green onions 1/4 c. kidney beans (this is the only item int eh salad where you need to what the amount) hearts of palm peppercinis (I have no idea how to spell this) green beans cherry tomatoes tons and tons of balsamic vinegar The whole salad is like 1 WW point... aka no fat, very few calories and lot of fiber!

Well I think that it is great that you know what your priorities are! That is sometimes the hardest part! We paid only like $600 for ours so I feel like you can get something for a much more reasonable price. Especially since it isn't your biggest concern - you may be willing to have less time or even a little less quality in exchange for a lower price. That will help you keep the $$ for the photographs which are more important for you. So you're half way there!

How about setting a really small goal that's closer in time? Like set a goal that you will exercise 3 times next week (or whatever is appropriate for you right now - whether it's 1 time or 5 times!) and promise yourself a non-food related reward? Like a new shirt, a ticket to a show or something you've been wanting but have been holding off on. Quote: Originally Posted by Yari OMG, I haven't been doing that well. And especially when you're talking about something that's over 6 months away it's almost impossible to "feel the pressure" yet. GHave you guys seen the Week 3 or 4 (can't remember) 2008 brochure about how to set exercise goals? I just started using it and I've found it to be really helpful. Basically you take this quiz to determine at what frequency level you are right now with your exercise. Then you go to that section and it tells you what exercise goals you should set for yourself (in terms of exercise points earned). Right now I am working on getting a minimum of 7 exercise points a week. once you do that consistently you add 2 points and you aim for 9, then 11, etc. etc. until you are at 28 points/week (that's 4 points a day!!!). Anyway just making the goal to earn 7 right now is helping me to motivate.

  8. Wer had one and it was one of the best decisions we made. We've watched the video a million times. In fact my FI never even looked at our photographs because he felt like the video captured it all...
  9. I am also a fat cow! Same height, close weight but smaller boobs and bigger waist! What about joining Weight Watchers? I love it and I find that it really helps - much better than other "diets" out there. You can eat whatever you want but you just have to track your points. So suddenly you find yourself making healthy choices so you can eat more! Anyway here are some ideas for when you emotionally need to eat but don't want all the extra calories: - 98% fat free popcorn. You can eat the whole bag and not feel guilty. Want something sweet try the kettle corn flavors. - Salsa with carrots, celery or Light n' thin wasa crackers. - Want cheese? Tray Chavrie creamy goat cheese. It's about 1/2 the calories of regular cheese and so tasty! Good on above mentioned celery and carrots, crackers. Also throw it into pasta sauce to create a "cream sauce." Or try laughing cow light cheese wedges. - Western Alternative Bagel toasted with light cream cheese. These are so low in calories/high in fiber you can eat 2! Easy Dinner Idea: Fresh veggies, grilled veggies or veggies sauteed w/ cooking spray. Add a lean protein to make it a meal: **grilled chicken breast, lean beef, fish, veggy subsitutue meat products, seafood items like shrimp, scallops, etc. Then flavor with the following: **Italian: crished tomatoes, crushed garlic and finely chopped onion with salt, pepper, dried basil and parsley to taste. **Asian-inspired: soy sauce or low sugar teriyaki sauce, fresh or powdered ginger and a tiny splash of rice vinegar **Indian: crushed tomatoes, Curry powder (or use cumin, salt, red chili, turmeric and coriander powders)
  10. I think email/online RSVP is totally fine. As long as older or less computer savvy guests can call you instead then there's no worries! I think that are beautiful invites. I feel like if you changed the flower to red they could suddenly feel very Mexican

  12. I'm a "psuedo" vegetarian as I like to call myself (meaning I eat seafood and no other types of meats). Anyway I am totally in love with Quorn. Have you guys tried it? FYI: It is Lacto-Ovo vegetarian but NOT strict vegetarian or vegan because it does contain egg whites. Anyway I LOVE it! I prefer the "naked cutlets" but the breaded ones are super good and taste like chicken patties! I'll post some recipes but if you're interested in a new veg meat substitute product that is NOT SOY check it out! Whole Foods, Ralphs and health food stores seem to sell them... Quorn | Home (Sorry my Canadian friends - they don't seem to be selling them there yet) Oh and for WW peeps you can have 2 Naked Cutlets for only 1 point! Now that's a deal!
  13. Shelley - I love those! They're so pretty and it really looks very classy and colorful!
  14. Can I join you guys even though my wedding was in 2007? I need other WW-ers to discuss with!
  15. Oh that invite is SO beautiful! Funny that you call it Mexican themed because the name of that invitation is actually "mexico"! For me it was between that one and one called Venice. I got samples and they are really gorgeous in person. White Aisle is the company that makes them - here's the link: Mexico Wedding Invitation, tropical invitations But they have a bunch of others and you can pick and choose the colors so maybe they will have something that works.

It's also an important lesson to learn: reread your posts and make sure you don't sound like a b*tch! (i try to do this but don't always succeed... and then I have to come back and do this )

It's strange that someone would want to come at it like this. All I can think is that she didn't realize how rude her message was and how personally all of us picture whores would take it! hee hee hee... well we love our pictures!
  20. Good luck - I think you and your TA should be able to force them to give you the original slot! In fact the Hilton did this (was the other person) once. She confirmed a date and time and then called me back like 2 hours later to say she made a mistake and then time was already taken. And honestly it was no big deal! But the longer the hotel waits to do this the bigger an issue it will be for them. They need to cancel the other weding ASAP before that person starts having invites printed!

We are emotional people and that is why this forum is so close and after you get married you continue to stay because you build friendships and bonds that go past BDW (sorry Hostess) but we care and share on this forum and that is why our significants dont understand when we are on here we are family. We are protective of our families and Tammi is our Host/Mother. She set the rules and if you dont like the rules then OH WELL You are cute and I couldn't agree with you more about us being a family! I mean my wedding was last June! hee hee hee...

That being said this message wasn't written in the nicest of language. (and I love you too!)
  23. Here's the SKU: 7W2-2240 I think that once you find a printing shop that carries these they could probably customize the colors for you. You can find a dealer here: The Consortium Invitations

I think you should reduce the size of pictures people are allowed to post. There are some people who use really large pictures, and when they are posting several times in the same thread, the thread gets taken over by their pictures, not the information, which is what we all come here for." and not expect us to give it back. Like family we are going to disagree but it how we agree to disagree that makes us family. There is a way to voice your opinion. I personally was offended when i read this and as you can see I asked if my siggy was offensive. So we are just commenting on the statement that was given to us. WE ARE A HONEST BUNCH AND THAT IS WHY I L0VE BDW I understand what you mean. It is always so hard to convey feelings properly in writing! I never saw the original (pre-edited) title either so I honestly can't comment on that. Catherine - I hope I did not offend you (or anyone else!)! I certainly didn't mean to and if I did I apologize All I meant was that a lot of people who are new to the forum don't understand all the features. I agree that the original message is written in a not very nice tone and should have been phrased more as a question. And I am happy we are an honest bunch of ladies (and gentlemen), so I guess that's why I thought I should post my opinion as well... P.S. I happen to love your dancing sig and I happen to love all our sigs (including my own!)!
  25. I just wanted to throw my 2-cents in (why do I always have to spout off my big mouth and get myself in trouble?). But I wanted to come to Sunbride's defense! If someone doesn't know that they can turn off the siggy's and happens to have a very slow internet connection/dial-up etc. than it would seem to be a reasonable question. However I am sure she now knows that she can shut them off using her account. But I do feel bad that she might not come back because of this thread. The truth of the matter is that there are lots of wonderful people and lots of great info on this forum (yay - us!) and I hate the idea that there is someone out there thinking we're a bunch of b*tches We're nice, I swear it! **Sorry, you guys know I love you and I'm not trying to make anyone feel bad (I didn't, right?)
