Sometimes I hardly even count points! I am/was exactly the same. I do great all week long and then the weekend hits. I have only been doing well over the past few weekends - here's my strategy. It's to be S.T.U.P.I.D. (I just made this acronym up!): Save. all your flex points! (which it sounds like you already do) Track. The biggest change you can make that really will make a difference is to be honest with yourself and track your points no matter how much you've eaten or are about to eat. Even if that means you're going way over just knowing the information will make a difference in your behavior. Use. Pick one meal or event (whether it be going out for drinks or dinner or whatever) and use those points! Plan. By that I mean know when you're going to use those extra points and plan accordingly. In Control. Focus on enjoying food, drinks etc. in a matter that is In Control. Don't eat until you feel sick or drink until you throw up (I'm not saying you do) but eat and drink in a way where you can enjoy it without feeling guilty. Defense. That means in places you know where there are likely to be non-point friendly food make and bring your own favorites to eat instead. Bring enough to share so you don't feel like you're the only one eating "good" food. It also means avoiding restaurants or homes that you know trigger the eater in you. For me that means I can't go to Mexican restaurants right now. I just cannot sit there while the chips are on the table looking at me!
  2. You're welcome! I just made it again this weekend myself
  3. Ha! Well I guess you picked three great dresses because there seems to be an almost even split! Which one do YOU want to wear?
  4. I love that BCBG dress! So pretty and perfect for the beach! My second choice is the eyelet dress - also very pretty!
  5. Sorry I can't actually recommend anyone but here are a bunch: Here's some that are listed on The Knot: CENTRAL FLORIDA Videographers Wedding Planning Resources Here's one I found on google: Video Services And check out these listings: Cocoa Beach Videographers | Wedding Videos in Cocoa Beach | Videographer Cocoa Beach Florida
  6. I can't see why not! It's your wedding - you can do whatever you'd like!
  7. My friend at work made some delicious 1 point chocolate mini-muffins. She's supposed to give me the recipe and as soon as she does I will post it. It was very high in fiber (you could taste it) but they were really moist and delicious! I have actually switched from rum/diet cokes to wine. I feel like a glass of wine for the same # of points (2) is more satisfying and even a little (sounds crazy) more filling. I literally just plan it into my day's points when I know I'm going out or to friends houses. One more note - the great thing about WW is those extra 35 points! I use those babies once a week to go out to eat with DH or friends. I have to say I am feeling so much happier now that I've lost even just like 4-5 pounds! Weird how that happens...
  8. And maybe just go to a make-up counter this evening and get a good foundation and powder to cover them up in case you need them tomorrow. Then don't open them unless you need to use them - that way you can return them. Seriously - take some advil or naproxen - it sounds like your skin is irritated and inflamed... sort of like what happens with waxing. I would skip tylenol/aspirin since they're not good at bringing swelling down but all those others should at least help.
  9. OK, So i just signed up but I'm not exactly sure what I'm supposed to be doing! Can I do this and WW at the same time? I definitely don't want to track points/calories at both... Has anyone done this before? How does it work and what am I supposed to be doing?

He is sooo diligent, counts everything, measures everything (uses my measuring spoons and cups for sauces, peanut butter, etc) and plays hockey twice a week and works out at least another two) - but has only been losing 1 pound a week - I feel so bad that he is working sooo hard and not losing more - I feel guilty that I am not doing it with him - we eat healthy so for him this was more about portion control and beer and wine consumption.. I just feel sooo guilty. Like I am essentially slowing down his progress because I am not doing it - I feel like I eat my sweets when he isn't around (like now as I mow down on a pint of Ben and Jerry's and then hide the garbage so he doesn't fee bad) Sorry for the rant ladies - Any advice or encouragement would be appreciated! Actually I think it's normal that he's only losing about 1 pound a week right now. This exact thing just happened to me! I restarted about mid-January and even though I was doing well I was barely losing anything at all for the first couple of weeks and then all of a sudden it was at 2 pounds a week. To be honest he shouldn't really even by trying to lose more than 2 pounds a week - you know the slower you lose the weight the more likely you are to keep it off! A few other thoughts - is it possible that he is not getting enough to eat? Is he using his 35 flex points? This is pretty unlikely (it's more likely that his body is just adjusting). I think as long as he sees 1 pound a week he's doing great! As my WW leader always tells us - "you didn't gain the weight in a week so you can't expect to lose it in a week!" It's slow, it's hard and it sucks sometimes. But as long as he can really find food he likes and can control portions it becomes a lot easier. And keep in mind that while some things are healthy it doesn't mean that they're low calorie! Just be extra careful with oils (even olive and canola) because there tons of secret calories hidden in everything! And if nothing changes and he really gets frustrated maybe he should try core? A lot of people love it. For me it's harder than just counting points but with a supportive FI like you by his side it sounds like changing the type of food in the house won't be such a struggle. Just keep that Ben & Jerry's hidden!
  12. Here's your first list: 1. Book a photographer/videographer or both. Find a couple people who are both available on your date and in your price range and then pick whoever's portfolio you like more. 2. Go try on dresses and figure out what kind you want to buy (sounds like you've started this already) 3. If you think it will be helpful for guests create a website - either free or one where you pay - due to the short timeframe try and find one that allows guests to RSVP online! Skip the extras and just get the basics up there! 4. Get menus from your venue and pick your food/drinks asap.
  13. The Knot has a pretty good one that they give you when you create an account. Of course it's going to have everything on the list that a bride who has a year to do it all but it gets the basics in there and you can cross out the ones you don't need. Welcome to the forum! I am sure your wedding is going to be fantastic - and it'll be crazy doing it in a month but lots of fun!
  14. One more thought - maybe pop a few advils or similar - something that is used to bring down swelling. I think it will help at least bring the bump part down and hopefully the hydrocortizone will help the redness disappear. I have one last last minute suggestion! Call and make an appointment with Mac or some make-up place for before the shoot. At the very least they can be covered up for the pictures. Also my guess is your photographer is going to be retouching ALL your pics anyway - do not freak out - I promise it will be OK! The week before my wedding my entire face broke out into an awful red bumpy rash... but when the time came it was gone and your will be too
  15. Yup - the "nude" beige colors work perfectly. If you wear white it may be noticeable under your dress since it's so much lighter than your skin. This goes for not just wedding dresses but all white shirts!
  16. I would try and sell it on here! Amsale does some beautiful dresses and many brides-to-be might be interested! Of course you just told us how much you paid for it Anyway, I sold my dress (used) for about 70% of the original price. However it was vcery well known and in high demand. For your dress I would sell it under retail but close to it. What about selling it for about $1000 - $1500. I feel like you have to be under retail enough to make it worthwhile for someone to buy it from you instead of a shop. I used Craigslist but I also posted it up on PartyPop and other places for the widest audience.
  17. You look great! I think you look awesome and nothing to be self-conscious about!

It sounds crazy I know but I wear a size 10 and my big fear is when I eventually have kids my feet will grow and I won't be able to buy shoes in a store anymore! Anyway I did a lot of exercise today - yoga for an hour and then the bike for an hour. What is my secret you may ask? Harry Potter! Yes, I am reading Harry Potter book six and I just plopped myself on the bike and kept reading and reading! I also made that taco soup (aka veggie chili) and it's so good and so low in points/calories that you can really eat so much of it! Yum! I can't believe margaritas are so many calories! Why? Aren't they just supposed to be tequila and lime and ice? Anyway I have just been drinking wine these days which seems to be very reasonable calorie wise... at least compared to margaritas! Also some good options are rum and diet coke (2 WW points/ 80 calories) or really any hard liquor with diet soda or club soda. And BTW be careful of tonic water - it has as many calories as regular soda!
  19. Welcome Heidi! I got married there this past June so let me know if you have any questions! We have a lot of past and future Hilton cabo brides on here
  20. My dad wore a dark suit - we told him he didn't haver to since Dan was wearing khaki but he wanted to and I think he looked great In this pic you can totally tell I'm trying not to cry! hee hee hee...
  21. Most of our guests stayed 3-4 nights - which is actually exactly how many nights we stayed (4).

  23. I go to Thursday meetings. I did want to say to people who are just starting meetings - try out a few different days/time so you can try out different leaders. I did this and I found one that I love so much and is hilarious, so in-tuned to what everyone (including her) is going through and is motivating - not just about WW but about treating yourself well. Just my suggestion. I know if I stuck with the lady I went to the first time I defintiely wouldn't have kept going... she was BORING! OK, so I confess i skipped my weigh in last week! I ended up drinking too much wine with friends wednesday nigth and then of course I ate chips and dips, and all sorts of non-diet friendly stuff. Anyway I am hopefully back on track now so I hope for a stay the same or loss for Thursday... Oh, and no matter what week you're on get that Week 3 or 4 booklet with the exercise plan - it is SO helpful! I plan on getting my points through power yoga, stationary bike and wallking... Jilly - not only does muscle weigh more than fat but SORE MUSCLES HOLD WATER!!! Which means your loss will probably show up next week once your muscles "heal." stay strong and keep at it. You will definitely lose more weight by eating right AND exercising in the long run... and that's what counts! On that note I am going to try and hop onto the bike before going out tonight but I just can't get up from the computer!
  24. I'm going with hats! Actually I was thinking you may even want to consider visors. A LOT of people forget sunhats on vacation and one DW we went to in the Bahamas had these really cute visors and even though we got two (one for each of us) we're always fighting over them even now. They pack up small and they are very tasteful - navy blue with a little embroidary palm tree/beach and just the location. I love them! My second choice is towels - very luxurious and I'm sure everyone would love them! My concern about shirts is actually sizing. Trying to size people can be very tricky. You want the shirts to fit but you also don't want to offend people by giving them a larger shirt... even if that's the size they wear! Crazy? yes. True? maybe. But honestly it's such a fantastic OOT bag already I bet no matter what you choose it will be a big hit. What's the least expensive?
