  1. Hmmm... best tips for WW. There's so many! This is what I think the best way to go about it: 1. Substitution: Find substitutes for stuff you like to eat for example: - Western Bagel Alternative Bagel 1pt - Weight Watchers Cream Cheese 1pt. - Laughing Cow light cheese wedges - 1pt. - Skinny Cow ice-creams (read through some of the other WW threads for more ideas) 2. Plan. Know what you are going to eat - or at the least allocate how many points you are going to eat per meal. 3. Track, track, track! I think this is really the most important (assuming you are doing Flex and not Core). 4. Find a meeting you like and go every week - even (and especially) when you've gained... this is harder than it sounds! 5. Find your favorite (or least objectionable) exercises and then set a goal for how many bonus exercise points you want to earn that week. 6. Avoidance. For right now it's probably a good idea to avoid the places where you have traditonally eaten in an out of control manner. For some of us that means Mexican restaurants (i.e. me) or it could be ice cream shops, starbucks, whatever. Just don't set yourself up for failure by putting yourself in tempting and difficult situations. 7. Accept that there may be weeks that you stay the same, weeks that you lose a lot, some where you gain - it's all on the path to your final goal weight. 8. Check out our and WW receipe threads. Think about how you can adapt recipes to reduce points (i.e. cut out oil and use cooking spray; reduce fatty ingredients, increase vegetables to increase portion sizes) good luck!
  2. OK - Well I guess I could stay... how many more weeks do we have? I guess I just feel discouraged. I think I actually didn't do as bad as I thought this past weekend. I ate out a lot but we hiked every day so I think I may break even... we shall see! OK, I'm going to try and stay. Thanks for the encouragement you guys!
  3. Hi ladies! OK, I am officially withdrawing from the BL contest! I have actually been on vacation for the past 4 days (which is why you haven't heard from me in awhile) and well I just need to step-out. I think seeing a final number that is a gain rather than a loss is just too depressing for me - it's bad enough I'll have to face the music at my next WW meeting! Anyway, I hope you guys understand! Sorry But I can't wait to see who's going to walk away with the big bucks!
  4. Here's my fantastic gift from Jamie!!!
  5. I am also not very optimistic about Wednesday... I FEEL heavier! Plus I ate out a ton this weekend and dranks lots and lots of wine and didn't exercise at all! Terrible!
  6. Thank you Jamie (jamisoncollette)!!!! I love my gifts! Jamie got me: An easter basket full of chocolates! A yoga DVD called "Rodney Yee TOGA BURN" and a book I've been wanting to read called "Ines of my My Soul" but Isabelle Allende!!! Plus a really cute black and white notebook that it perfect for stashing in your purse... how did you know that I needed one? And a really pretty card with a Dali painting on the front: THANK YOU!!! I have to wait until I'm home to take pics for you guys but these are great gifts!

I do not want to weigh myself on Wednesday. I did do really good with the gym though. I've increased my gym workouts so hopefully it will counter attack the damage I did from the frosting. Other than the frosting I ate pretty well though. I didn't have one chocolate or one dessert. Not that it matters since I ate so much frosting, but oh well... How did everybody else do? Glenda - It doesn't sound THAT terrible! But I will say this about your frolick with frosting: 1. Why do you have frosting in the house?!? Get rid of it! 2. I wonder if your current diet plan is secretly making you feel deprived and this is your brain/body rebelling? Perhaps you need to ease up on yourself while still making healthy choices. Good luck!

This is a Mexican cookbook that has pictures of Frida and Diego Rivera's home and recipes of the food and feasts they had. My mom just told me about this book this week and I thought, I have to have it! And you didn't even know it Kash! It's a perfect gift! Mil gracias! YAY!!!!!!!! Oh, I am SO happy you like it! I thought maybe my probing questions might have tipped you off as to the subject AND even better - you got it in time!!! Thanks for the carrot ! I hope the actual recipes are good too! To my secret bunny - I put my work address in for the shipping since my apartment is gated and UPS/FedEx can't deliver. So I'm sorry if you sent it to arrive this weekend.

We're talking $100+ per person without drinks! THey have a petite filet topped with blue crab, asparagus, and bearnaise! I think I might take the camera so you guys can sympathize! There is no way to pass up that kind of meal. Starting Monday, it is gym 7 days a week and nothing but chicken and lettuce until the wedding! (Maybe some oatmeal) I think you are perfectly fine eating this one amazing meal. I mean you can't shut down your life! Plus the funny thing is that a lot of fancy restaurants actually give way smaller portions... yay! So enjoy your dinner and reallyu relish every bight!

Gonna have to check into that hungry girl, cuz that certainly is what I am! Well... let's see. In a way it went well but mostly is went terrible! I definitely ate with a more restraint than I used to BUT I still ate WAY too much and ended up 24 points OVER my flex points for the week. needless to say I gained But I will add this one note regarding counting points even after you've surpassed your 35. It makes you WAY more accountable and therefore more in control. If once you max out on points you stop counting then who knows how much you can and will eat! But if you continue to count your "over" points then at the very least you can minimize damage done. Trust me, this is a new way of thinking for me! I used to do the same exact thing... it's like once I used all 35 points what the use of counting? But I'm starting to see the error of my old (and obviously unsuccessful) ways. But it is HARD - especially because when you're talking abut restaurant food, or party food or whatever - it's basically impossible to know what's in there. But I guess you just guess the best you can. Anyway this week (my new WW week started yesterday) I am determined to do well - meaning exercise more, eat the right number of points and drins that water! Let's see how it goes! Stay strong this weekend - there's lots of candy out there!
  11. I like the idea! I think it would be fun to include some traditionally Jamaican music in there since you ARE in Jamaica... they can still be love songs!
  12. To my secret bunny - your present will be arriving a little late According to UPS it will arrive on Monday! I hope you like it and aren't TOO mad at me for not getting it to you in time!

OK, well after my horror of a diet week this past week I am determined to LOSE weight this week - hopefully enough to make up for my stupid gain (which at my WW meeting was actually 1.2 because I didn't go last week... I have no idea how that happened since I lost here last week. Very strange.)

  16. Oops! I was wrong. I didn't stay the same I actually gained 0.2! yuck. OK, my pic has been sent to ann!
  17. Or perhaps trying a relaxing shampoo, conditioner and product ahead of time. I have curly hair (though not AS curly) and mine was up, pulled back and held together with about a million bobby pins. Sadly I don't really have any pictures of the back of my head from the wedding or I would show you! Here's the best I have:
  18. I actually like the navy color that your sister is wearing the best. I guess the reason is that I feel like in Navy they may actually wear it again. However between the pink and the jade I prefer jade. I think the fuschia is very intense.
  19. I stayed the same this week. I have to admit I was secretly hoping for a loss but if I had lost it would have been a total fluke because my eating was not good. At least I didn't gain anything, though so that's a relief! And tomorrow is my WW "reset" day (as I think of it) so I can finally put this not so terrific food week behind me!
  20. Oh no! I ordered my gift a few days ago but online Amazon says it's not going to ship until Friday!!! I feel terrible that my giftee is going to get hers late Should I send her a message and give away that I am her secret bunny?

But you guys should totally go and have so much fun! i LOVE it there - and it was the perfect time of year - not hot, the hillsides were super green and lush... sigh. It's so beautiful there!

I have to admit I'm trying to talk myself into not feel too guilty... but inside I feel terrible! It really was fun, though and the food was great. But I wish I hadn't eat so much on Thursday night (I didn't do well!) Don't worry - I bet you didn't do as bad as you think!
  23. I did not have a bridal party either. Our minister had the rings and honestly anyone who witnesses your marriage can sign the certificate. I had a bunch of girlfriends join me ahead of time while I was getting married along with my mom. I wouldn't have had a bridal party even if someone paid me! We did however have two close friends each do a reading.
  24. I did TERRIBLE! I think this was the worst diet weekend I can think of since I restarted WW in January! I mean just AWFUL! Oh well - I am hoping to at least break even and not gain this week but I can't promise anything! I feel bad but I don't feel THAT bad to be honest because a friend and I had been planning a wine tasting weekend in Santa Ynez (north of Santa Barbara) - and it was exactly that! Fun? yes. Delicious? Yes. Fattening? Hell yes! sigh... well at least I can promise to be perfect with my WW points between now and Wednesday night... I mean I'm already like 24 points over my 35 flex points (for those of you who understand points) - That is ridiculous!
  25. I got married on June 16th and my friend just very quickly touched up my make-up before the pics.
