Okay, so I posted my dress here a long time ago but it was before alterations and the worlds tiniest photo. Hopefully these are a little better/bigger.

The dress still needs to be taken in a little and we're adding a little boning so that the dress won't creep down. The last think I want to be doing is hiking it up all night.

Oh yeah, and sorry about the sad face. I was really hoping the dress would be perfect this time.

I got my dress at David's Bridal. It was the first dress that I tried on...I wanted something simple and flowing. I'm having the dress altered a little. I don't really want the train even though it's a small one. I am thinking about removing the straps as well.

      hope this works!

I just got my dress this weekend. I posted another thread talking about how I did not get that "in love" feeling. But after trying on like 18 dresses and HAVING to pick one cause my wedding is only 4 months away, this was only one of two that made me smile. The picture does not do it justice, it is truly a beautiful dress. I am having the straps removed, I walked around the store with them tucked in and decideded I definitely liked it better without. (PS. I borrowed someone elses picture who has the same dress, hope that is okay?)

Here is mine....I ordered it back in August and got it in November....the back is a corset style and I'm taking the panel out for the wedding because I figure we're in Cuba! Who needs a panel? It was the third one I tried on and I love it.

Finally, I get to post pics of myself in my dress! I had my first fitting with the seamstress over Christmas and my best friend took a couple pics for me!

It has to be taken in a pretty good amount and then I'm also having the train shortened to a sweep train. It currently has a zipper back that is going to be converted to a lace-up. I'm so excited to see it with the alterations!

here it is - sorry the pics are bad the salon has a "no picture" policy, but since I was buying the dress they let me do it in the dressing room :)

Hi all! My ceremony dress is a Casablanca (1870) in ivory. I bought it on Ebay (*gasp!*) from a bridal store that was selling off sample gowns. (Magic Wand Bridal on Ebay is phenomenal, they cleaned the dress for me, packaged it perfectly, and then sent the extra straps, buttons, and the tags were still perfectly intact when I received the gown.) Please ignore my ridiculous expressions and bad hair, lol.

My second gown (reception and TTD photo session) is a Maggie Sottero Couture gown (style Amy) that I just came across the other day. I have not yet purchase the dress, but you can bet that this one or one very similar will be coming to Mexico with me - it is about 1/4 of the weight of my first dress!

Everyone looks so beautiful in their gowns - I have always believed you have to purchase the dress that you FEEL the most gorgeous in - and don't let yourself be restricted by the 'rules' (e.g., curvy women shouldn't wear mermaid, tall women shouldn't wear ball gowns, etc.).
