OFFICIAL NOW Jade Wedding Thread

Recommended Posts

Hi ChocoTaco7568, the photography company located on site at Now Jade is called Adventure Photos. We communicated with the head photographer, Anthony Crocker well before our wedding via emails. When we got to the resort, his colleage, Federico met with us instead and was the official photographer for our wedding day. Federico did an amazing job. If you want specific shots, just let him know - he is willing to please.

Happy planning!

Pilar has been very slow at responding especially since the other wedding coordinator Ana Maria is not longer there.  When I booked a year ago I got a quick response by just calling the resort and speaking directly with her.  That might be your best bet.

I'm in the same boat -- I was emailing with Pilar about 2 weeks ago and her turn around time (to answer questions, send info etc) was about 48 hours...hoping she responds soon!

@KerriCornell: you're absolutely right! I also will often just rent vases from the hotel's florist to save my clients a trip into town or an errand. They will usually rent for between $10 (small ones) and $50 (very large ones). Still a savings!! And don't forget to pop your bouquets in a small vase on the tables for added decor!

Also, for all of those brides that are finding getting answers from Pilar frustrating, don't worry. I have done a number of weddings with her now and while the process can be maddening, I've only heard wonderful things about her from my past brides. She really goes out on a limb for my clients and makes their special day great :) Just be organized for when you arrive and I'm sure she'll execute it properly!

Hello everyone!
I'm trying to decide on a start time for our ceremony.

I am thinking...

  • Ceremony: 5pm (at the Pergola)
  • Cocktails: 6pm
  • Reception: 7pm-11pm

We are booking a date at the end of April (hoping to get April 29, 2013). Does anyone know what time it starts to get dark in April?

Hi Cassidy,

We are also getting married at the Now Jade next April!

The sunsets should be around 7pm at that time of year (there are a few sites you can find the exact times for your day, try this one: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/astronomy.html?n=923&month=4&year=2011&obj=sun&afl=-11&day=1)

We are doing almost what you have listed:

5pm ceremony

5:30-6:30 cocktail hour

7-10 dinner

Hope this helps!

Jen

Hello all and congrats on your weddings! I just have a question I was hoping someone could help me out with. Did everyone get a receipt after they paid the deposit on their wedding packages? Is it something you need to confirm your date? I gave Pilar all my papers and credit card info. She wrote me back saying that I needed to sign the back of my credit card for them to run it and that was the last time I've heard from her. I noticed my date wasn't reserved on the calendar...no biggie...but I hear that everyone gets a receipt and it kind of makes me panic. They've charged me for it so I hope it's ok. I've contacted her many times but have yet to get a response over the past two months. I'm sure she's very busy but I still can't help but wonder. Also, do you have to bring your own decorations or do they have some? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time and help! =)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
