Thanks @@stephygirl! I haven't been on here for a while as been so busy recently, sorry for not thanking you sooner.

Booked my hair and makeup in for 11am...very excited!

Emailed my coordinator, who sent me info regarding the companies to contact re the Charicaturist but still no replies from either! Will keep chasing though.

I'd like a sparkler exit, so would be used outside only.

I decided to keep my ceremony at 3pm.....you're right, it will still be hot regardless and I really want to have good lighting for our pics.

Haven't heard about Mercado 23, will have a look into it.

Thanks again

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to the forum and thought I'd introduce myself! I'm Sam :) I'm from San Francisco and I'm planning a wedding at Beach Palace in December 2016. I'm in the process of reviewing the contracts for both the ceremony and the room block. Quick question regarding the group rates - I'm concerned that they are a little high (based on my comparison to this year's rate for the same time period). Has anyone experienced a situation where your guests found cheaper room rates on the actual Beach Palace website (or another travel site, such as Expedia)? If so, were you able to negotiate or reason with the resort to lower the rate? Also, as an aside, I do not plan on using a travel agent.

I inquired about price adjustment policies for group rates (I read in another thread that a past bride at Moon Palace was able to get a 1 time price adjustment guarantee), but was told that they will not adjust rates for any reason.

Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you so much!

Thanks for the feedback, @! We definitely want to book as a group (as the perks seem AMAZING!). From your experience, it sounds like having a travel agent to help with coordination is really beneficial. I've reached out to one to see what kinds of services they offer.

As for the room block, I had no idea the resort was so popular! I am planning on blocking 25 rooms (since they require a huge deposit if the reserved room block exceeds 25).

Hello Beach Palace brides!!! My wedding is just around the corner on 12/12/15 and we are in the process of finalizing menus!  So much left to do with so little time!  Does anyone on this forum have recommendations on what to get or to avoid? We are thinking the Mexican buffet with some substitutions from the Carribean buffet for our welcome beach party and the Italian buffet with some substitutions from the International buffet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! :)

@@FutureMrsGarcia congrats on your big day being so soon!! Am I correct that you have a big group going (90ish people?).  If so, please let me know how it goes with a large group! I can't wait to hear all about your wedding!

Does anyone know if we can seat 10 people at a table for private events (or will they only seat 8 people per table?)

@@Danielle1 Yes we have a big group! We have 90 guests and 2 events (our rehearsal dinner is off-site) so ironing out all the details now. Will definitely do a review after we get back! My coordinator has told me 8 people at a table and no more so we have 11 tables. Will be odd with not filling 1-2 tables but I dont think we have a choice. Hope your planning is going well!!!

@@Danielle1 Yes, our ceremony is on the sky deck with the cocktails and reception on sky bar terrace! We are having 12 tables total (10 tables of 8 people and 2 tables of 6 people) and a sweetheart table which palace is providing. I am worried about the space but I have seen pictures where there are that many tables so I know it can be done. We didn't want the Palenque terrace because it has to be shut down by 10pm and we are planning to have our reception until 12AM!  We are renting decor for the welcome party from Latin Asia - dark brown tables, bamboo chairs, burlap table runners, centerpieces with lanterns and flowers and twinkle lights with hanging stars to create a romantic, rustic atmosphere. It's not cheap but we really wanted it to look special and set the tone for the rest of the weekend! We are renting decor from Latin Asia for the ceremony and reception as well. I cannot wait for it all to get here and just pray the weather holds out for us!!!! It looks like it has been raining almost every day the last couple weeks.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
