Help- Colors

I didn't really feel like I needed to pick colors, since I won't be having a bridal party.  However, now I'm going to try and incorporate some ocean blue and coral details...pretty combination and perfect for the beach.  I think it depends on where you are getting married, too.  Some places, like Sandals, already have packages with colors.

Our colors seemed to be a "no brainer" for us since our wedding will be on Valentines Day. My main colors are going to be Fuchsia and a light pink, then I am going to accent with green (think orchids). I figured LOTS of pink for such a day...plus its my favorite color!

I purchased pink crinoline from another bride on here that I will wear under my dress, and will be on the look out for the perfect pink shoes too!

We really struggled picking our colors.  At first we wanted to do something tropical, something that would look good with the sand, ocean and grass of the tropical places.  We soon found that we were not fond of pinks, purples, and oranges.  We then thought red, but decided against it.  Blue is my favorite color and at first I thought it wouldnt look good in a tropical place, but then i realized that this is our wedding day and we will have to look at these pictures for the rest of our lives and want colors we enjoy!  Therefore, we are going with a bright blue with green accents.

I knew I definitely wanted the tropical feel, but I basically chose mine by the best setup I found (pic below) and also the BM dress.  Since I only have 2 girls standing, we went shopping at department stores instead of bridal salons for their dress to help keep cost down.  We ended up finding the perfect dress at Macy's that flattered both of them and was only $60 (the dress we liked at the bridal salons was $160 ea. Great save!).  The dress is light pink, so I'm having that as my accent color with the aqua and green below.  I'm going to switch out the green hydrangeas for light pink ones!!  Good luck choosing your colors!!

I think a good way to pick your colors is to find something you love (perhaps a favorite painting, rug, etc), like an inspiration piece and work with those colors. Or, if you already chosen a theme, work within your that color scheme (tropical: oranges, reds, greens; beachy: sand, blues, greens, etc)

Also, I think it's really important that the colors you choose flatter you and your fiance as well as the bridesmaids (skintone wise).  Good luck!

Congratulations! Picking colors can be difficult. What you like for a home town wedding maynkt look good in a tropical setting. I like purple and lime. Purple is my face color and my fiancé loves limes. I think when you out them together it'll be tropical. We're going to have another color because not everything will be those two colors. Once you setlle on a place you'll find colors and how they work with your location. Good luck!

When I started thinking about our colours, I had no idea where to start then it just occurred to me one day.  I wanted to bring together our cultures, I am Vietnamese/Chinese and my FI has a Scottish background so we wanted to incorporate something from both cultures.  FI's family tartan is yellow and black and has a thin red line that runs through the plaid. So, our colours are red and yellow (red for my asian background and yellow is the main colour in FI's tartan).  My bridesmaid and MOH will be wearing charcoal grey and their flowers are yellow.  My flowers are red and my dress is white.  We will use red chair bows and i'm still thinking about table overlays or runners.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
