Hi ladies, Just wondering those ladies who got the Divine Package - what food choices did you make?

We had to put down $200 per guest and the deposit is non-refundable so we only put down deposits for guests that are 100% certain they are coming.

I have also purchased my dress and it's from a local designer in Toronto. My dress is very destination wedding - it's light and flowy and very comfortable. I have also purchased my MOH and bridesmaid's dresses - they are wearing charcoal grey convertible dresses. My colours are red and yellow to represent my asian background and FI's colour from his tartan. I will also be bringing real touch flowers with me as the flowers from the resort are so pricey. We have about 30 ppl coming and another 10 who may be coming. I'm still deciding on my invites and whether or not it's worth the time to do them. We are doing OOT bags and so far we have purchased the bags, chapsticks, hand sanitizers, spring water sprays (to keep ppl cool). We are still expecting to get some travel mugs (I really like the Bubba mugs but they are expensive), first aid kits, advil, sunscreen, aloe vera, mosquito spray, etc. We have also confirmed our photographer and after much debate, we decided on bringing our photographer from Toronto. How is everyone's planning?

I haven't used them before, we are just in the process of booking our tours/excursions. We want to treat our guests to something.

When I started thinking about our colours, I had no idea where to start then it just occurred to me one day. I wanted to bring together our cultures, I am Vietnamese/Chinese and my FI has a Scottish background so we wanted to incorporate something from both cultures. FI's family tartan is yellow and black and has a thin red line that runs through the plaid. So, our colours are red and yellow (red for my asian background and yellow is the main colour in FI's tartan). My bridesmaid and MOH will be wearing charcoal grey and their flowers are yellow. My flowers are red and my dress is white. We will use red chair bows and i'm still thinking about table overlays or runners.

Oh, I'm so happy to read your review of the resorts - I feel much better . We didn't get an opportunity to do site visits and I have never been to Mexico. I feel in love with the look of the Dreams resort but it was out of our price range and then we found NOW and I think it looks beautiful too! So, we went with Now Sapphire and our wedding date is July 29, 2011. We have picked to have our ceremony on the beach and the cocktail and reception at Tequila terrace.

Hi, We are gettign married on July 29, 2011 at the NOW Sapphire Riviera Cancun. It's great to see that there is a forum for us July 2011 brides. How is everyone's planning going? We just met with our wedding planner last night and went through the details. There is so much to think about. We are a little behind in our planning and haven't worked on our website yet. We still have to send out our official STDs but so far we have about 30 ppl committed...we'll be a smaller group, maybe 35 max? So far in terms of planning we have done the following: picked our colours: red and yellow bought my dress bought my bridesmaid and maid of honour dresses bought all our flowers, I'm bringing silk flowers as the resort charges a fortune purchased some little things for our OOT bags So, we still have lots to do. My FI says I have all these grand ideas but question if we can execute....

Thanks! I agree with you, I think both locations will be beautiful! I've seen some pictures of the Beach terrace too and really liked the set up. Thanks for your suggestion on timing too and I think we'll probably go with. We're only doing a symbolic ceremony so they said that only takes 20-30 mins. Also, by doing it later, our guests will still have a full day to enjoy at the resort. I was worried about having a later dinner but you're right, we'll have apps at the cocktail that ppl can munch on

Thanks sarcrook! When are you getting married? Please let us know what you think of the resort after your site visit and the best places for the reception and ceremony. We didn't have the time to do a site visit before we picked the resort

Hi Ladies, So, we finally did it - we're booked for July 29, 2011 at the NOW Sapphire We picked the Tequila Terrance to have the reception and cocktail hour and will do the ceremony on the beach just below the terrace. FI wanted the ceremony on the Terrace too for the privacy but I really wanted it on the beach since we're going all the way to Mexico for the beach! We picked Tequila Terrace because we heard that it's more private than the Beach Terrace. Our next step is to pick the time of our ceremony. We had originally thought to have the ceremony at 4:30 but the WC at NOW told our WC that it's still going to be very hot at 4:30 in July....they suggested 6 but I'm wondering that it may be too late? We want to do cocktails and pictures after the ceremony. Anyone have any thoughts on time of ceremony? Thanks!

I think it's a great idea! We just booked with NOW Sapphire today and I was thinking the same thing. I've been reading some of the other posts and all the brides that went with the real touch flowers seem to be very happy with their decision. We haven't contacted our WC yet but let me know what Ana says....I think it's a reasonable request.
