  1. Hi, I'm sorry I haven't checked this in so long! I wanted to be better about helping St. Lucia brides with info, as it was difficult for me during the planning. This photo was taken by Katherine Thomas www.katie-t.com She is a friend of mine from college and an awesome photographer. She traveled as a guest to our wedding, and I did not have any problems using her. I declined any Sandals photography, and you will want to do this as well if you bring your own. From what I witnessed the Sandals photogs are quite pushy and will get in the way. I wish I had declined the videography as w
  2. Hi ladies, I know you're getting so excited about your weddings! I read your concerns about photography, and I have a suggestion. The beach at the Grande is PUBLIC. Off to one side, you have a small, rocky beach and then the national park, and off to the other, you have a pier and not very much scenery. The beach is about 1/4 mile long, if that. If you want to hire an outside photographer, they wouldn't be able to keep you from taking pictures with him on the beach. The ceremony would be the only difficult thing, but right after, you could meet him to take pictures. If you're getting ma
  3. We had the time of our lives at Sandals Grande St. Lucian, and I cannot think of a more perfect place to have a wedding and honeymoon. If you want a low-stress wedding in a beautiful location, then this is the place. The southern part of the island was beautiful, but if you want to get married on the beach and have tons of options for pictures, then the Grande is the best choice. They made it so easy for us to just show up and get married. Everything was perfect. Flight We flew Delta direct from Atlanta. The flight was about 4 hours, but not too bad overall. I would recommend f
  4. We had the best time at Sandals Grande for our wedding/honeymoon. I'm working on a full review, but I wanted to post some pics in the meantime. If you want a low-stress wedding and gorgeous spot for a vacation, then this is the place. Everything was absolutely perfect.

  6. Hi! We did the 4:00 ceremony and it was still really hot...it cooled down considerably by the sunset time, so that should be perfect and well worth the extra money if you have it. I would also suggest not flying in too many days before the wedding. We flew in on Tuesday and got married on Friday...too many days. My dress fit perfectly before I went and I gained a bit of weight before the wedding, even though I was eating pretty well. I wish we had flown in on Wednesday. Also, it is a bit stressful, and you will not really get to enjoy your vacation until after the wedding is over.
  7. I'll send some things to your inbox. This was a beautiful place and perfect location for a wedding...you would love it.
  8. Hi Jessica, thanks for the wedding wishes! We are back, and everything was PERFECT. You will not regret your decision to get married there. We had a small group, and I finally adopted the attitude that people could come or not come...all that mattered was that my husband would be there. Our closest family members and a couple of friends made the trip, and the size of the group really worked out. Good luck, and feel free to inbox me any questions! I will post a review later, when I have my pictures.
  9. We're back Did not want to come back to reality! This resort was amazing...worth every penny. Definitely book it! I don't think you can find a prettier place. We stayed in a Honeymoon Beachfront Luxe room and it was more than enough. I will post a full review later.
  10. It is the monogram that was on our invitations, by Sarah Sproull. She changed the colors for me at the last minute! I put about 8 on a page and just cut them by hand and punched the hole. Super easy!
  11. I just posted my planning thread! So excited to leave for beautiful St. Lucia in less than two days! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/74470/jessica-s-st-lucia-planning-thread-july-2011#post_1633672
  12. Rehearsal Dinner Dress from Anthropologie (It's on sale now!) Welcome Bags: We don't have many people traveling with us for the wedding, so I decided to get more personal with the welcome bags. I ordered a bag for each woman from Land's End and had it monogrammed. I did a Wedding Survival Kit for each bag and then gifts for individuals... The bags are from Land's End and are each person's favorite color. I got a great deal on these bags, as they had an amazing summer sale! Wait until late June or July to order. These are the medium canvas open-top bags. T
  13. This website has been a huge help while planning my wedding! Thank you to all the wonderful ladies who provided opinions, ideas, and templates. I also am so thankful I chose Sarah Sproull do create my invitations and monogram. She was wonderful to work with! Our Engagement: One of our favorite vacation spots is Hilton Head Island, SC, and we love the beach, so it was only fitting that we get engaged there. My FI woke me up for a sunrise walk and proposed on the beach. It was perfect. This is my ring... Location and Invitations: We chose to get marri
