Moon Palace 2012 Brides

Hi Emma, did you book through a group block? Normally the upgrades and amenities are written into the contract

Hi girls, I just been on the resorts website but can,t find the info. I have 7 rooms booked totalling 91 nights. Will I be eligible for a free function? Many thanks Emma,

Thanks Tammy, my travel agent is looking into it. I have never received a contract from moon palace just the welcome pact and it has no mention of any promotions in there. I hope they honour it as we all booked within days with the same operator and she said she has linked the bookings. Fingers crossed.

Okay ladies this is the email I just sent Beatriz

Beatriz,

I appreciate very much you timely responses.  I am upset with some of the information that I am now receiving.  I was under the impression that I would be able to choose my locations 3 months (not 60 days) prior to my wedding.  This information was given to me in an earlier email by Michelle which I can forward to you if you would like.  I am concerned that, even though I was the first person to reserve this date for my wedding, I will not be able to get the locations I want.

I am also upset with the quote you gave me for reception set up.  I was under the impression that it will be a $65 standard set up fee for the entire reception when I decided to book my wedding with Moon Palace.  If these fees have changed for 2012 then I believe that I should have been made aware of the change in fees earlier as this would have affected my decisions I have made.  I do not have much to put on the tables- only centerpieces and a little something for each place setting.  I also have paper lanterns to add personality to the reception itself.  This increase in charge, however, makes these costly items now money wasted for me.  Is there any way that I can be honored last year's price since I booked last year?

I think you need to forward this message you your manager to let them know that myself as well as other 2012 Moon Palace Brides who booked their weddings in 2011 and was originally told 2011 prices are upset that drastic changes were made without informing us. Not just the set up fee but other fees as well which, combined, great add up.  I know that it is not your decision to change these prices and you have been nothing but prompt and honest with me, but I feel greatly cheated by a company that I and my family has already invested so much money in by choosing to vacation and get married at your resorts.

Thanks again for your help Beatriz and I hope to hear from you soon.  Again, I am not upset with you.  In fact, I think you are doing a great job.

It may be harsh, but I hope it gets our point across.  I think it is crazy unfair to change set up from $65 to $100/table- especially changing the price for people who booked over 6 months ago!!  Please send a similar email to your coordinators asking them to forward it to their managers and lets see if we can get them to honor their 2011 price for us who booked in 2011.  fencing.gif

Last night after seeing this post I emailed Joannis:

HI!
I was hoping to get my wedding locations secured. I am getting married on June 25th at 6pm. I am just worried that a location I want to book will not be available because my wedding is "last". Id love the tucan gazebo and terrace for my wedding and cocktail/reception. I have my contract signed and dated November 7th 2011.

Thank you for your time and response.
Siobhan

I just recieved this response: Hi Siobhan,

Iâ€m going to send you a wedding location request form so that you can fill out your choices. I can only reserve for any functions on your wedding day. Anything before or after, the locations will be subject to availability.

Thank you!

Not sure if this helps anyone, but its funny that Im over 100 days out and I'm able to book the locations this easily.

I thought that was very very nicely written.  Unfortunately, my most recent e-mail to Joannis was not that nice.  I was rather abrupt!!! oops.gif  But, I have finally reached my limit with them.  All other e-mails I have written to them were nice and eloquent, but it obviously has gotten me no where with them.  But I do need to let them know that since I booked my wedding 7 months ago, the 2011 pricing should stand.  Can't wait to hear the response!!!

Well ladies, we decided to get legally married at the last minute this afternoon because my man got off work early today.  He thought the idea of having our legal/fake wedding was fun to do on Leap Year, so we scrambled to go get our marriage license, and Ta-Da!  We're married.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
