Ok I'm over posting tonight but I have to share I'm so stressed with Ivis!!! So she finally gets back to me after nothing since our initial phone call and she has things all mixed up, I'm 39 days away. Grr, most of all she had me having a symbolic ceremony instead of a civil ceremony.

I wanted to extend the cocktail hour to 2 hours and its $60 per person, a little steep when we can go to the lobby bar and drink for free.

But on a good note,  I got my OOT bags finally took me forever to pick some, got a lot of my stuff to put in them and have my dress fitting on Thursday, can't wait!!

    Happy Valentines Day Ladies!!!

          Hi Ladies,

          Moon Palace 2013 bride here.

I am trying to figure everything out now because I like to be 40 steps ahead of where I need to be

Debating if I want a DJ or iPod (fiancee is set on a DJ but the price seems insane), in house photographer or bring one in, and wondering if they will let me bring in silk flower bouquets because one of the bridesmaids is allergic. Also, does anyone know how much it is to upgrade from the complimentary bouquet to one of the themed one's that come with the designer packages.

I am having a bit of a hard time getting info because they just started doing these new designer packages in March 2012 and there is not really much info on upgrades, etc.

Any input would be great : )

Resort and wedding day booked. Here we go.

I was wondering this for the cermony,  I got my 75 nights finally so I will have free private functions and the person number doesnt matter.  BUT.... Although ill be getting married on the beach and there is deffinatley pleanty of room, im still concerned that they are going to charge me per chair over 35.

I also heard that they make you pay for the full price of the wedding and private functions FIRST and then REFUND you  a month later....

I dont know!  Im so confused!  A little over 70 days out and still dont have a budget OR  the cocktail hour/dinner area reserved athough I requested them at about 100 days out.

I called to day to speak to the manager and of course was sent to voice mail.
Im really trying to be patient but come on.....  a budget would be nice.

For the ceremony, some locations like the Gazebos can accommodate 150 guests...where as the beach wedding locations do not technically have a limit on guest capacity.

The only place that quoted 35 people max was for the dinner reservation.  I imagine that is what you are talking about.  We are planning on having about 70 guests, but with our room nights, should easily qualify for free events.  We will use the dinner reservation for 35 for our rehearsal dinner, and only invite immediate family and bridal party (totaling about 30-35 people).

I personally have not heard of MP charging $6-7 a chair for any over 35, but again, I'm not sure which function you are talking about?

I qualify & have NOT been told about $$ per chair for anything over. 35 people. Not sure where your getting this information from. Also, if you have a group contract and qualify for free events you DO NOT have to pay for your free events (I posted this a while back stated from a MP contact) you do pay for your room and that is what gets reimbursed about a month later. Hope this help

                  @palacebride27...

There is not a 35 guest limit for the ceremony. They will not charge you for guests over 35. Most of the ceremony locations can easily handle 120 guests or more. No extra charges.

As far as the free private events for 75+ room nights goes, you should not have to pay for the events ahead of time. Many of us had this question/concern and it has been confirmed by a wedding coordinator and posted in this thread, you will NOT have to pay for the events ahead of time and wait for a refund. If you qualify for the free private events by getting 75+ room nights, you can book events without paying ahead of time.

If you have your room booked through the resort, and not a 3rd party TA, you will most likely need to pay for your room in full, and then will get refunded the free 7 nights post travel. It usually takes a few weeks or more.

I would too be frustrated about having little to no contact 70 days out. I specifically flew to MP 15 months before our wedding date in order to meet with a coordinator in person and lock in our locations right then and there.

I would not be worried about an extra seating charge for more than 35 guests. That 35 persons limit only applies to the dinner reservation, which is not even needed if you qualify for unlimited free events.

So get this...wedding date is March 23rd...thought I had everything confirmed awhile back and was waiting on the final contract with Ivis. Got an email today and a phone call saying (and I had confirmed this with her earlier after feedback on this blog)...no Carribean Terrace for our dinner because dinner can't be served up there if you don't pay for a full private event. WHAT!!?? I had specifically outlined this in an email with her and she goes, well I am sorry that was an error. I am so not happy! I argued a bit and she is "going to work on it" but I may be back to square one with dinner reservations and we are 5 weeks out.

Cross your fingers that she "can make it work." UGHHH!

I think the $6-7 dollars per chair you may have read about is in regards to the upgrades (e.g., tiffany chairs or bamboo chairs). If you stick with the white folding chairs, it should all be included, regardless of number of guests.
