Jo,

From the look of the pictures, it seems like they may have clamped the dress to fit the plastic model when they photographed it. Notice how the chiffon split in the front of your dress wraps around to the back? In the original it sits right on the left hip.

Chances are the measurements are correct if you really analyze the images.

I got my dress from Landy Bridal and it is too big, too long, and I paid extra for a high grade chiffon and Swaroski rhinestones and I got polyester chiffon and regular beads. I had to pay $300 in alterations to it so I would have a dress to wear to my wedding. I wish I would have bought the real dress, as of right now I am only saving a few hundred. I emailed Landy for a refund (not holding my breath) and let them know they fraudulently sold me a dress. It's one thing for a dress to be too big but to have me pay for a higher quality and bank that I wonâ€t know the difference? I was a professional ballerina so I am very familiar with chiffon qualities; polyester chiffon is heavier and rougher. I am over the stressing and after the alterations the dress will be fine. I had to move flowers around because they put this huge flower on my shoulder (think 80's big). In the pics the dress looks decent because I am holding the back tight so it doesn't sag. At that point I just had to deal with it and not make a big thing of it. I will let you know what Landy says, I wonder if they changed management because everything from them was quite good several months ago.

Well of course Landy sends me best wishes and tells me they used chiffon...even as I tired to explain the high quality is not what I received, and she said they used Swaroski rhinestones...uh no. And they made the dress to my measurements...wonders who's measurements were those? Oh well I got it into alterations everything will be fine. I also had to ask the status of my dress after 30 days and they were like when do you need it? I told them within the 30 days but I have a feeling they had forgotten about my dress.

I emailed giananar bridal too and told them that I wasn't happy with my dress measurements either. When I went to get it altered the dressmaker measured me and my body hasn't changed really at all since I sent them the measurements but the dress is at least a size too big. She has to take out almost 6", that's not acceptable since I sent them the measurements. They replied and said they checked it against the measurements. I told them to fire whoever said they checked it because it definitely is NOT those measurements!!

They offered me a measly $20 refund for my trouble or $129 if I return the dress. Well I can't return it. My wedding is a month away so I have to work with what I have. I asked them to refund me more so we'll see what they say.

TheOneDay.... do you have pics? Now I'm worried because I ordered one that is not in their online store too. I didn't custom make it though. It is an Amy Michelson and is very different than what most girls order (I usually see chiffon a-lines or taffeta trumpets). The original have a very low back with straps criss crossing in the back. The original was made of silk charmeuse, but guininar said they only have thin satin (whatever that is), so I may have a similar experience (but I hope not). I'm so sorry this happened to you. But on here and many other websites they have second hand dresses that are gorgeous (I would have bought mine, but as it is my TTD and my second dress, I didn't want to spend more than $150).

Question Ladies...I want to order my bridesmaids dresses from lightinthebox.com but I wanted to know if anybody has ordered a plus size dress from them. My sister is a size 22 and I dont want her to feel bad or awkward if everyone can fit their dresses and she cant. So do you know if they big/small or true to (plus)size.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
