I did get a hold of one of the workers at the suites. She said it is really crazy for weddings this month and Nicole is real busy (I totally understand). I did secure a date tho! My first choice was taken, but June 5th, 2011 hopefully is all locked in! Just waiting on the paperwork . Thanks all for the suggestions!

Hi Ladies!

I am going crazy trying to decide where to have our wedding. We had originally planned on Riu Negril then decided it wasn't worth the price they were asking, then we thought Dreams Cabo would be best, but I really love the music, vibe, culture in Jamaica. I'm so confused. I've heard great things about IRH and am now considering Nov 2010. There is a lot of great info on here, that will hopefully help us finalize our location. We don't have much time! Thanks for all the info.

Just thinking about this as an afterthought, does anyone know if there is a vendor fee for outside photogs or florists, cakes, etc??

I think you just have to pay the fee for having an outside guest which I think is 75$ if you want an outside photographer. :-) You can always check with the WC if you can get ahold of her.

Hey Jenn, I see your from Vancouver and are having your wedding here as well! Nice to see another fellow Vancouver bride on here!

 

I believe the only fee is the day pass for your photographer or any outside entertainment you are bringing in. But if its just for a cake or flowers - they would just be dropping it off and leaving so no fee for that.

 

I guess we are all just patiently waiting to hear the reviews from the two brides that just got married here!

Hi everyone,

I got married April 14th and it was amazing. Our dream wedding. We got married on the beach which I would not have any other way. However the other days I was there the weddings were at a diffeent location and it doesn't matter where you have the wedding each place is equally beautiful.

 

Nicole is the head wedding planner here and she is the BOSS. She really has her stuff together. She knew exactly who were were when we got there, and remembered every conversation we had had. I brought the e-mails with me but she already had everything. She has tons of pictures on her computer of different things to choose from. About 20 minutes before the wedding she came to get me in my room and while we were waiting she walkied everyone downstairs to make sure everything had started.

 

We got the videographer for $350 and it is perfect! Well worth the money. It's about 30 minutes of video including our ceremony.

 

We took our own photographer with us. "Jim Fish" of Jim Fish Photography from here in St. Louis and it was the best decision we made. Contact him if you are looking for a destination wedding photographer. He had three cameras with him and he and his wife are amazing.

 

We did the ttd the next day and it was awesome. We also jumped in the pool in our clothes.

 

We ate at Aunt Rubys for the reception but we did not rent it out b/c we had a small group. Really the things you can do here are endless. I just have to say to try and stay calm once you get there everything will just work out. It was the best decision we made.

 

Our parents did not understand why we made the decision to have a destinaiton wedding but afterwords they all said it's the most beautiful wedding they had ever seen. Everyone was crying.
