Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum. I've been reading the Iberostar reviews, to get caught up. I was wondering what you ladies have decided to do for your photographer and videographer. I was looking at the hotel photographer digipix. I went on their website DIGIPIX LTD, but I wasn't super impressed. I felt the pictures looked pixilated and not the best quality, but I've also read a positive review from way. I contacted them on May 24th to see if they could email me a few more examples and a price list for more than 70 pictures + the CD. I haven't received a response from them. I wanted to know how long they could take the pictures, if it was all day or just for the ceremony, and their charges. Is anyone using them? Any previous experience with them? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

Welcome!
I am bringing my photogs with me but I know a lot of brides have had success with Sungold and Saab. I think there are a bunch of other photogs from Jamaica reviewed under 'Jamaica Vendors' or try a search.

Hi Julie, welcome to the forum. I emailed digipix asking for photos and info about a ttd session, below is the response I received. I ended up going with Marcia Roberts a Jamaican photographer. Her work looks good and she is reasonably priced. you can find her info in the jamaica vendors section. She responds to emails and often calls the same day.

Thanks so much Wendyjd! Your advice is very helpful. I think the pictures look really good! Now I just have to see what the price list is. The list through Iberostar doesn't say how long the photographer is with you. It's nice Marcia Roberts responds to you, I'm concerned that I've heard nothing from digipix, although I like there work.

I was also thinking about Saab or Sungold but they are both pretty expensive for the amount of time they are with you. (saab was like 3000 for 4 hours along with sungold about the same). I have seen alot of nice work through the hotel photographer digipix as well and since this is included in the pacage i might use them but still not so sure.....

Hey Jonesr, thanks for you thoughts. I think Sungold has some very nice pictures from what I've seen, I have yet to see pictures from Saab. I'm not a fan of the price though. I can bring a photographer from home (close to Toronto, ON Canada) for $3500. They'll do pictures before, during, and after the wedding, including trash the dress. If I'm going to spend that much, I may as well bring a photog with me. I think digipix does a pretty good job from what I've seen. Maybe we'll go with them...I just want to make sure they take some pictures of us getting ready, during the ceremony, couple pics, family pics, and reception...bouquet toss, etc. Hmmm...I'm gonna keep evaluating this one...I wish they'd get back to me...I'd love to see how long they spend with you, and for what price, and how many pictures you get. I just have the basic package Nicole gave me. The largest package is only 70 pictures + CD for $875...does that include more than 70 pictures on the CD? I donno.

Hey Julie!

I was in the same position as you (and still kind of am!). I was debating between digipix and sungolds associate photograher (which I was quoted $1900 for 5 hours). At first, I wast too happy about digipix photos as they looked kind of pixelated to me, and some of the past reviews about them werent very good and some were good! But now after looking at the recent work that wendy posted from digipix, im once again debating. The price for them seems very reasonable but they have never responded to my emails in a timely manner (took me 2 weeks before I heard a first response) where as sungold response within a couple of hours! So im in the same position as you! Our wedding dates are fairly close as well. So let me know what you decide to you as im still on the fence !

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
