I think that sounds like a great plan.

I was EXTREMLY nice to them and they still told me "I am so sorry there is no closet." Sooo I didnt argue I wasnt going to start my wedding vacation with a fight. They swore to me there was no closet in the cockpit that I could hang my dress up in So I just layed my dress across the top of the over head compartment and away we went..lol Dont worry it will be fine. There is also a 2 hour drive to the hotel from the airport and none of the busses or private transfers I saw have closets to hang things up, so its going to have to be draped over a seat or lay it across the top of the luggage in the trunk.

I have flown with spirit and have had bad expierence. They lost our laugage and then said they would call us and bring it to us the next day and they never did so finally we decided to go back to the airport and wouldn't you know there was our laugage just thrown there in the middle of the floor with everyone elses and not only that the ohter peoples laugage was thrown there and open so people lost stuff. this was around Christmas so it was gifts we had and you know everyone else had gifts also because we saw new stuff with tags throw all over the place. it was a mess to say the least. I haven't flown with them since.

then my friend flew with them and they lost her stuff also and the service was not good.

Just make sure that you have everything closed right and tight and taged well.

That really sucks. Did your dress get wrinked at all? I also never really thought about the trip from the airport to the resort. I guess either way it is bound to get alittle wrinked. I will just hang it in the bathroom when we get there. Things will work out ok I am sure. Did you have any touble with your luggage at all? I was worried about having lost luggage no matter what airline we flew with. We are flying into Montego Bay and our resort is 2 hours away in Ocho Rios. I don't want any problems with the baggage since we will be a ways away. I would hate to have the same problem Cyclone did!!! One plus is we have a direct flight from Detroit to Montego bay so I think the chances of lost luggage is less.

I'm super late to this post, but just wanted to throw my two cents in. I have flown Spirit from LaGuardia to Myrtle Beach a few times and my parents make that trip several times a year. We've never had any problems.

As for your wedding dress, I've read other posts from Jamaica brides who said not to worry about your dress getting wrinkled. The humidity will take care of it for you. Relax and don't worry about your choice. I think you'll be fine with Spirit.

I have kinda relaxed about it alittle bit. There have defiantly came some pluses out of this airline. Our original flight did not get in intil almost 3 and now they canceled the flight going out of Ft. Lauderdale so now we have a direct flight from Detroit to Montego Bay and we get in at 11:25. I have also herd several people say they have gotten in early with Spirit. Then when I called to confirm they offered an earlier connecting flight on the way home and we get back in 3 hours earlier. It was a huge relief.

As far as the dress goes, so far no one has reserved the seat next to mine so hopefully that stays open but if not I will just hagn the dress and hope for the best. The closer it is getting to my actual wedding, the less I am stressed. I guess I just think things will work themselves out!

you know what I would do? Go in the with attitude, this is my wedding and nothing is going to ruin it for me - that way if some small things happen it won't get to you. :) I'm sure everything will work out fine. There are a lot of negative people in this world.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
