Is everyone breaking up their reception in traditional ways? Meaning - intro of wedding party, father/bride dance, mother/groom, MOH speech, best man speech, garter, bouquet toss, etc? Nothing wrong with these traditions, but I've never had a desire to do all of these things. I've gone to weddings where it just seems like they are checking off from a list of things to do for the reception. I would skip them all but it is good to have something to break up the reception a little, at least a little bit in the beginning. I know I won't be doing the garter thing and probably not the intro of wedding party. Does anyone have anything non-traditional that they are doing during the reception? Or any other ideas?

We are from the US and we decided to have our wedding in Cabo at Pueblo Bonito. The experience was beyond AMAZING! Our wedding planner, Denise Acosta, was wonderful! The hotel was clean, beautiful, and created a relaxing paradise for our guests. Everyone who stayed raved about how amazing the place was which was important to us because it was a long trip for many of them. The hotel was so accommodating to our needs and the entire staff went out of their way to make our guests and us feel taken care of and special. The big day truly went without error, which I am told can be quite rare. I am a very detail oriented person and Denise made sure all of the little details of the wedding were in place and that schedule was kept. Our wedding was on the beach- which was gorgeous. We had a cocktail hour at the firepit and a private dinner reception by the pool with dj Arturo Ortiz. He was fabulous and played all our requests as well as great dance music. Everyone had a blast and the event felt very private. People at the resort thanked us the day after the wedding for picking such a great dj because they were able to enjoy his music from the distance- which was funny. The food was absolutely amazing and far exceeds any typical wedding food or resort food. Overall, it was the perfect experience. I am grateful to the hotel for a breathtaking wedding and a great experience! Five stars out of five!

Hi all, My finance and I will be getting married April 2015 at the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach Resort. I've always envisioned a laid-back yet elegant beach wedding, so I'm super excited! We'll have a beach ceremony at 4:30pm, followed immediately by cocktail hour for guests while we take photos (we decided to book with Saab Weddings--which I'm really excited about), dinner from 7:00pm until 8:30pm at the resort's open-air restaurant, and then the dancing/reception and maybe bonfire outdoors again on the beach from 8:30pm until 10pm (unfortunately outdoor festivities must end by 10pm at this resort) My question: is 1.5 hrs enough time for the dancing portion? I'm especially concerned because we'll be spending quite a bit extra to have a dance floor, DJ, bar, seating and decorations outdoors for under 2 hours. Has anyone had any experience with a "beach party" dance reception? We plan on doing traditional 1st dance, father-daughter and mother-son dances, but more than anything we want people to have a great time under the stars. I've been thinking about trying to make dinner just one hour, from 7pm until 8pm, so we could at least squeeze 2 hours out of the night. Unfortunately we can't make dinner time any earlier. My life would be much easier if I just decided to have our dance party at the resort's disco, but I really wanted a beach party and don't want to give up on that idea (yet). Any ideas/feedback would be much appreciated!

Hi Girls, I was wondering what symbolic personal touches people are incorporating into their ceremonies and/or reception? Somewhere else on here someone mentioned she will be giving her bouquet to her grandma in leu of a bouquet toss. I have heard of people placing framed wedding pics of family members in the reception area. Stuff like that! What are you doing?

Hi everyone! I cannot tell you all how thrilled I was to find this website because I have been driving myself crazy for 2 weeks looking at reviews on various resorts and wedding locations! So thank all of you in advance for any help you can provide! We are looking to get married June 27, 2015 in Punta Cana. The problem (and blessing) is that my fiance and I have very large families and we are the first to get married in both. Just blood relation alone, we are looking at 120+ people who all live very close to each other (we are not scattered throughout the US). We are planning to invite 200 people with the hope that only a 100 attend (if not less!) and preparing for 150. Lodging - I would like to have everyone stay at an all-inclusive so that the trip is more affordable for them, especially in terms of alcohol. I looked at some smaller hotels like Zoetry and Sivory to see if it was possible to essentially get everyone to stay at the hotel but I'm confused by their pricing because I don't think its all-inclusive as listed until you get to $700 a night (WAY TOO HIGH) Any suggestions on smaller all-inclusive hotels?? I love the idea of finding a hotel where we are able to book most of the rooms. Or even a larger resort that has sections, etc. Guest budget - Expecting (hoping!) that flights will cost around $500 round trip, it is my goal to keep the trip under $1,200 a person. For example, the cost of all-inclusive lodging for two people would be no more than $1,400 total for three nights. Ceremony - We are both Catholic so we need to find a church and we have a priest in the family who we would like to perform the ceremony. Any suggestions on churches would be much appreciated! Reception - I would like to do something off-resort if possible. However, most of the restaurants that I have read about in the threads will not accommodate that many people. I am super open to suggestions! My budget for the ceremony/reception is 25k. Whew! That is a lot of info...Thanks for reading and double thanks for any responses!!!

Ceremony - Beach Cocktail Hour - Jacuzzi Reception - Deck The coral bows add just enough color for the "wow" factor & bonus: no other decorations needed I like this clean, crisp look for the reception since we'll be outside, but maybe coral napkins like the second picture?

DIY Napkin Rings: The Karisma resorts have fabulous inspiration packages you can purchase to decorate your reception and ceremony. I was considering the Coastal Bliss package for my resort at the Azul Sensatori. But when my WC added it to my package, it was over $5000! And my fiance and I weren't in love with the package. I decided to just go with the standard Azul white table clothes and add my own centerpiece and napkin rings. Here is how I did my own napkin rings: Materials: Starfish (I love the knobby starfish – I bought bleached knobby starfish at http://www.northfloridashells.com/) Toilet paper rolls Hemp twine Scissors Glue Gun Instructions: I cut up the toilet paper rolls into smaller circles. I put a little hot glue on the back side of the ring and tacked down the hemp. Then I wrapped the hemp around and around and around really tight. I tacked it down with a little more glue when it was wrapped all the way around. I put some glue on the back of the starfish and glued it to the ring. I think they turned out pretty nice! And for a fraction of the cost of Pottery Barn!

Ok Brides, After Planning my wedding for 8 months, I wanted to share some info. There will be no name dropping but just a bit of insight and encouragement. If you are into hotel ceremonies and receptions bc you like it, then this post is not for you... no offense, truly. If you feel you have to have your wedding at a hotel bc there is no way that you can pull it all together, take a deep breath and know that - YES YOU CAN. One thing I like about weddings is not how good the cake is or what the bouquet looks like, all very important details yes, but your guests won't care, I promise What I like seeing is the couple's creativity. Their own little personal flair that is unique incorporated into their wedding. The thing you see and say oh my gosh that is so them! I have a friend who is a sous chef and for her table top centerpiece she had large vases each filled differently with asparagus, or some with slices oranges, then water, then flowers on top. her own touch. So to be told that if I have my wedding at a resort I will pay 3k-8k and they will take care of everything and in doing so I get 1 choice of their very limited options that are tired and worn out? No thanks. So upon my 8 months I have learned a lot. There are many many many options in Mexico to marry. There are even more to have a reception. I had been working with a venue directly, they promised me one thing in email. Not just the manager but the chef etc. I hired a wedding planner and she told me opposite. When things just didn't sound right from the wedding planner and the venue was telling me something else than she, it just got to be a big mess. And I had to just walk away. Did I really really want to have my wedding there? YES. Did I like my wedding planner? YES Did I feel that continuing to invest my time and potentially my money into either? NO. WC response was that it might be hard for Americans and Canadians to understand but the wedding business in Mexico is and I quote "cut throat" Do I want to give my business to cut throat people? Should I blindly just accept things that my gut instinct is telling me to be wrong just bc I think that my wedding has be perfect and held to someone else's standards of acceptability? I have looked at many these vendors, ones that have the big websites etc and you know what? They could not care two.... about me at all! Wedding ministers not responding, DJ's trying to hustle me for bigger packages, venues changing pricing etc. You know what my previous wedding planner told me? That my venue didn't care about what they agreed to and that if I didn't like the changes, oh well the venue isn't pressed for brides and doesn't need my business so I better just accept it. Oh yes. She did. That's not what I dreamed about as a little girl. And isn't it suppose to be our day? So with trusting my God given instinct and 29 years of experience I went in the opposite direction and I can not tell you how happy I am. I have found the most wonderful venue that is so friendly. Gives me all the choices I want. I can have a tab bar at the end of the night, I can have pre paid bar packages, I can bring my own liquor, I can, and I have created my own menu. I gave pics of the canapés I would like to have served and they have quoted me prices for those. They have beautiful furniture I can use at no extra cost. etc etc etc. In short- they rock. I have found an amazing wedding officiant, Petra Rattue (ok I named dropped but shes awesome) Yes I actually look forward to taking a walk to the local markets the morning of my wedding with my family and picking out flowers and creating my own bouquet. Something my previous wedding planner insisted I shouldn't be bothered with on my wedding day.I look forward setting up a couple table decorations. I look forward to it all bc it's what I want and it's my day. May not be what you want, but for me it's everything. But what do you want??? Did you start with a dream and now find yourself settling? Your wedding day is yours. I think vendors and wedding coordinators are awesome, if it were not for them we would still be getting married in our homes with no extras (totally acceptable too) but for the love of humanity, they need to be honest and held accountable. You can make your wedding day your own. Just follow your heart <3 Hope this has encouraged you. Lisa

Hi brides! So question for all the brides in here... If you are doing a plated dinner and paying 100 bucks per head for 3 course meal and open bar, would you be happy with your guests ONLY being aloud to ALL choose steak or ALL choose salmon? I feel that it is horrible. I LOVE steak and salmon but some people can not eat red meat others don't care for fish. And every reception with a plated dinner I attended offered 2 options for a protein. I even offered to hand in total head count a month or greater ahead of time. But to tell me I have to select all steak or all salmon is absurd in my opinion. Like I said it includes alcohol a salad, main course. And dessert ( thAt I don't even want but can not change) Would you settle? The whole reason why I picked a private venue is because I wanted more options. I'm working with Grand Coral btw. But I might have to weigh my options... Thoughts? Thank you SO much. If you are not having your reception at a hotel please tell me where you are having it and what choices/prices you were given! I was given 500 rental fee and 1276 pesos per head! Even the kids who are not drinking and don't care for the first course etc. I want everyone to feel welcomed. And not having to turn their plates You can rent the facility for 2000 but I am pretty sure the menus they offer are preset and you have 4 choices. Thanks for reading!

Sometimes it is very hard to calculate the overall cost of wedding planning. Your money is distributed over many different vendors and shops, so it is hard to keep track of the innumerable expenses. If you want to keep track for you’re spending, than planning is essential to maintain your budget and decide where you need to cut costs. These tips can light you the right way to saving money on wedding planning. 1. Off-season wedding- Plan your wedding in off-season will help to save 10-20% off your whole wedding expenses. November or January through March is not in high in demands as some of the summer months and often it is bit cheaper. These are not more suitable months for an outdoor ceremony. But you will get good opportunities either you can save large cash or go with higher-tier vendors for the same amount that you were going to originally spend. 2.Supply and Demand- Try to schedule your wedding day both Friday and Sunday because Saturday is popular day for wedding so it is so expensive or posh day. By choosing the wedding venue intelligently can be helpful to save some money and it can be largest money saver for your wedding planning. You can also save more by choosing the non-traditional wedding venues that do not charge as much as your standard reception hall like long island wedding venues, country club or restaurant. In non-traditional wedding government buildings, museums, parks, and gardens fall under this category and these are equally amazing than a typical wedding reception venue. 3. Food And Beverage Bargains – Take estimates on the prices of buffet dinner and sit-down dinner serving from the caterer before you hire one or the other. Go for lunch option instead of dinner reception which will save huge because lunch prices are based on smaller portion sizes will also save the costs of alcohol cause of take less alcohol in evening rather than evening. Best to avoid the traditional, pricey seafood. Not only is cultural food trendy also pocketbook friendly. Cut the list of dishes you serve, Rather than serving so many courses, display your guests with either a salad or an appetizer, and serve wedding cake for dessert. 4.Cheap decoration ideas- Try to choose wedding locations that don’t require additional decorations like museums or botanical gardens which are available for a small fee. Decide you’re wedding around the holidays, because that time church’s and reception venues are already decorated for the occasion. Use the house linens, potted plants, candles, and frames at the hotel, restaurant or catering hall where your wedding is being held rather than spending so much money to rent special tablecloths, floral arrangements. 5. Find the look for less- Try to choose the discounted or sample-gown racks at bridal shops and department stores for is one of kind bargains, also explore consignment stores and internet sites for word dresses, or brand-new gowns that never made it to alter and wear your mother’s dress. Order a bridesmaid dress in white or ivory because there are plenty of beautiful styles out there. You'll end up with an elegant look for a fraction of the cost of a bridal gown.

I have set my wedding date for June 2 2015, but am struggling with the most important part! Getting in contact with anyone from Grand Coral beach club. I called the number on the website and that's the sales office for the condos- I emailed them and heard nothing. It looks like a beautiful place. My wedding is on a Tuesday so I hope I able to get a great deal. I simply could not accept a packaged beach resort wedding. We have 2 children and are inviting only our immediate family and a few friends! An intimate wedding reception is very important and a reception next to the pool in private outdoors is also important, no sand for reception and nothing I doors! Grand coral is the perfect spot! Anyone have contacts? My email is [email protected] Or pm me here! Thanks!!

Hi, I just got engaged last weeked :D and we decided on a DW in Puerto Plata. The resort package includes almost everything... except Photographer and music for the reception. Any recommendations? They say they use Tropical Studio, has anyone used them before? I have been reading about HDR, who sounds good but they're in Punta Cana and have a travel fee for coming to this end of the island. Thanks for any help!!

Hi all! I was newly engaged on Christmas 2013. We will be having a no ceremony wedding, only a reception. For my reception I don't want to wear a wedding dress but maybe a cute white reception/cocktail dress. Thoughts? I know we will be holding the reception later this year November-January-ish. I want my first dance to be a Spanglish version of I Turn To You by Christina Aguilera. It is beautiful and I feel would be a wonderful touch since my fiancé's family is Latino and my family is not. I'm just here to talk wedding since I'm sure my friends are going insane by now!

Has anyone spoken with any decoration companies in Cancun about prices? It seems like Zuniga is the most commonly used company but their website doesn't show any pictures/prices. Can't find a recent thread on here about this so I'm hoping someone has some more recent info =) Also... any advice on paying for the resort wedding package (which will need to be upgraded with outside vendor decorations) VS opting for the complimentary wedding package (in which case I will be paying an outside vendor for ALL the decoration)? ...our wedding is at Beach Palace but any info is helpful! Thanks!

Hey DW brides, I am having a wedding Oct. 2014 at a villa in Puerto Vallarta. Outdoor wedding, under a chuppa, then ceremony right up the stairs on the back lawn. I am working on the budget for the "day of" including all flowers, chairs, tables, decor, etc. What are some quotes you ladies have seen? My WC is handling all this for me so I'm sure she gets her flowers from a specific florist. I am not picky what so ever about the kind of flower, just overall color. I was thinking to save money to bring my own (very good silk flowers) for the ceremony chuppa, which would save me like $400 which sounds wonderful. But if we can then use those arrangements for the reception as well then no big deal, but it'd be nice to bring up the chuppa up stairs for the ceremony, it would be pretty in the grass. I don't know. What have you guys done? Thanks for your help!! Jenna

Beautiful Starbox strapless cocktail dress, perfect for your wedding reception or dance (especially for a destination wedding)! Such a fun dress! Very flattering as well. Bought in December 2013 for $300. Only worn once for my wedding reception in Mexico. Size x-small, but fits smaller due to corset lace up back. My measurements are 33-27-36. Asking $100.

After 10 months of planning and looking forward to our trip, it has come and gone and was a fantastic party!!!!Here goes my review! General: The resort is beautiful, though the grounds are small. However, for a wedding party it’s fantastic! We ran into each other everywhere and considering it goes up rather than down, it was so easy for us to run to and from another’s room. We were there Jan 15-22, 2014. The resort was booked out completely, so it was hard for ones in our group who did not get the right room/beds/did not like their room to switch around…so that got a touch complicated as they had to wait two days to do so. There were also 8 weddings the week we were there. SOOOOOOO Busy! Check-in: 5/10 We arrived Wednesday night at 8:45pm….and I has emailed the day before to remind them as 40 of us arrived at once and we had kids and babies in tow. We were hoping for more staff at the check-in so we could all get to dinner (our 6 hour flight had no food and people were starving). However, check-in was brutally slow and people were absolutely dying waiting there with no food. Some even abandoned their luggage just to head over to the buffet. The buffet as it was late…had no proteins left…so not the best combo. Also, a whole section of our group was plunked on the second floor which is right near the entrance and had a ton of noisy all night long…and could not change rooms for two nights. We also had two men who had booked two double beds, and ended up with one king…they were not impressed. We were greeted with champagne…but it was a touch late and part of our group had abandoned the line for the buffet at that point. Resort: 9/10 Dreams PA is a beautiful resort. It is small, which is why we chose it. The staff at this resort was amazing! They were attentive and were always around to serve you or ask if you needed anything. Rooms did have a touch of a problem. Several of the showers did not drain, and a few of our guests complained that their toilets plugged. Also, most of the rooms smelled quite moldy due to the moisture. BRING FEBREEZE, our one bottle was a lifesaver. Also, some rooms had tubs and others didn’t…it was kind of odd and they gave the showered rooms to our families with babies and tubs to others who would not use them. The resort offers 24 hour room service, which we took advantage of a few times. Our food was usually delivered in 30-40 minutes and was good. The room service menu is small, but the items were yummy. Rooms/Housekeeping: 7/10 We stayed in an ocean view room (748) and had the honeymoon package, the day after the wedding they had a little banner on our door. There were flower petals all over the bed with towel art when we arrived. They had a bottle of wine and two apples for us as well. Every day they made some cute little animal or doll out of the towels. While the room is nice, it is very narrow and not too large (the day of the wedding with all the girls there trying to get ready it got really hectic and felt too small)…in hindsight I would’ve gotten a new room. But the view was awesome…no complaints there. They weren’t very good about refilling the minibar, we left a note for certain things and never got them refilled…we had to go grab water from our concierge. Our lock on our door was also broken…on the wedding day…and it took them a while to get it dealt with. Also, no water pressure in the showers! Beach/Pools: 8/10 the beach is SMALL. It is beautiful though with warm water and soft sand. Don't plan to take long walks, although I think if you really wanted you could walk down the beach of the other resorts. We were so busy with all the plans and the weather wasn’t that nice when we were there so I didn’t spend much time at the beach. The pool was really nice for the little ones…I saw them in there every day; also the service at the pool was amazing. Super quick and the servers were always around. Every time we turned around there was a new round of shots or drinks. Food/Restaurants: 9/10 the restaurants to choose from are: Seaside Grill: by the main pool, easiest to go to. Food was good, pretty quick. Outside seating. Also open for lunch! With a different menu so that was awesome. World Cafe: dinner here is not as good as the a la carte, so aside from day one we didn’t eat here. But pretty good stuff for breakfast! Portofino: Italian; some serious lines to eat here! But the food is amazing! Steaks at all the restaurants were amazing, melts in your mouth. The tiramisu here is to die for as well. El Patio: Mexican; we ate here for our rehearsal dinner. They put a bunch of tables together for us, amazing service and they do a little show with their Mayan coffee (coffee lit on fire). Really cool! Oceana: Seafood; we froze to death! Also it was a cold night and we didn’t realize it was all outdoors. Also we went for our welcome dinner and had a group of 20 and 10….the table of 20 waited almost an hour to eat because they all had to be served at the same time…they do this cute little reveal with the dishes covered and all that. But because of it people were starving and cold. Opps. But the steaks were amazing and so was the cheesecake! Gohan: Sushi; DO NOT EAT HERE….it was not good….and bugs were falling into our food. Entertainment/Things to do: 7/10 We watched a few shows, their magic one was meh. Their fire show was really good, and their rock band/dancing one was okay. I would say overall their shows are not as good as the larger hotels. Wedding Details: Wedding Coordinator: 10/10 I worked with Jacki, she was great to work with, but was really busy so we never got the rehearsal that we asked for…but I ended up watching a wedding the day before and told my wedding party what to do. Jacki pretty much showed up when we needed her to, and the wedding dress, and flowers just appeared. Also, she took all of my decorations and had them up without me even telling her what I wanted. She also set up a surprised bridal shower for me on request by my bridal party and it was beautiful! Spa/Hair: 6/10 Heads up, spa area is TINY! If you were hoping to get a big group in at one time….plan ahead. I had my trial done the second day I was there and the hair turned out fine…but the makeup. NOT IMPRESSED. But I am Asian, so I have features that I guess she did not know how to work with. Also, I had asked ahead of time if they have spray on foundation and was told yes…..She did not have that, nor know what that is. I also asked her to contour my face (she did not know what that is either). With my eyes, if makeup is too heavy or beyond the lids I look like I got punched in the face. Ha-ha. So I had shown up with pictures of a trial I had done previously, with step by step pictures. The makeup artist was not able to replicate. So, in the end I went back for the hair…and was fortunate enough to have amazingly talented friends who did my makeup. Thank goodness I brought all the makeup that I needed just in case! The hair and makeup trial costed me $110, and just the hair on the day of $60. Flowers: 5/10 I didn't care too much about flowers so I only had my bouquet, a boutonniere for my hubby, which Jacki had said would be coral but turned out red. It also died really quickly…so not sure if the outliner was worth it. I had real touch bouquet and boutonnieres for the rest of the bridal party which looked good the whole night! Photography: 11/10 (can I say that they are any more amazing?) We had an outside photographer named Jhankarlo and his assistant Diana, they were amazing!!!! I would highly recommend them to any bride!!!! Very reasonably priced and they even spent extra time with us just the get the right shots. I will be doing a review just for them!! They have also worked in Dreams PA before and knows all the right places on the corals and throughout the resort to get the best shots with the best lighting. We also had a First Look shoot and they coordinated where to meet. We also did our trash the dress shoot with them as well and had an amazing time. They are so easy going and just makes the shoot extremely fun and comfortable. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! http://jhankarlophotography.com/ Ceremony: 10/10 Our ceremony was at 4pm in the wedding gazebo. It was fantastic as the sun was setting the light was shining from behind our guest, so we were washed in sunlight which made for fantastic photos and also our guests did not have to squint. I had no flowers for the gazebo, but I didn’t think I needed it. It has the white chiffon materials all over and I also brought pink and coral chair sashes and starfish aisle deocrations. We wrote our own vows, and opted out of anything religious. We also had our wedding party read a children’s book ‘I like you’ which was lovely. But aside from that the ceremony was really short, had I known this I might have added a sand ceremony. We rented the speakers! DO IT! Cause the waves were quite loud and hard to hear over it. The ceremony was more than we could ask for! It was short, sweet, and very much tailored for us. Couldn’t have asked for more. The sound system to set up was around $120. Brides! You have to walk over sand to get to the gazebo!!! Be aware if you are wearing extremely high heels and have no one to hold on to..I sank in the sand a bit so my dress looked a bit longer and made it harder to walk. Dinner: 9/10 We booked out El Patio for $900 and had it from 7-10pm. The food was fantastic; we chose the Caribbean buffet and had the option to switch out some foods, which was great! Because we ended up choosing all things that we liked. Coconut fish, short ribs and potato and leek soup was our favorite! However, we were so busy during the reception that we didn’t get to eat much. Reception: 10/10 My only downside is that the tables are set up around the tree in El Patio, and therefore my parents sat in the wrong spot, and could not see us. I didn’t have table seating and we ended up all dancing at Desires Night Club and so we did no dancing at El Patio and did not need that much spacing between the tables… El Patio is gorgeous, and I had brought tons of sea shells to be placed as centerpieces and Jacki had them scattered with candles all over. It was beautiful. I left all of the sea shells there with Jacki, in case any future brides with like sea shells all over as well! Conclusion: Our wedding was more than we ever imagined! While Dreams PA may not be perfect for the older crowd, the intimacy of Desires Nightclub and the fact that the resort was small made it the perfect location for our wedding group to meet up and run into each other and to have our own small party every day and everywhere that we went. I don’t think we would go back to Dreams for a vacation (too many groups and too much partiers…like our group! Ha-ha) but for a wedding it was fantastic! I have attached pictures and also, my wedding plan and several other documents from my planning process.

Beautiful Starbox strapless cocktail dress, perfect for your wedding reception or dance (especially for a destination wedding)! Such a fun dress! Very flattering as well. Bought in December 2013 for $300 at Cross Iron in Calgary. Only worn once for my wedding reception in Mexico. Size x-small, but fits smaller due to corset lace up back. My measurements are 33-27-36. Hello! I am looking at cocktail hour and dinner options for our Jellyfish wedding and reception. I was wondering if any past or future brides could post what they had or are planning to have for the cocktail hour apps and the dinner menu options. If you did a custom menu what was the total per person. Your thoughts on the taste or any other information you would like to give. Thank you all in advance.

Hello, I am a newbie. I am the mother of the bride. I am so excited. I am new on this site and wondering how to ask questions to the brides on the resort Review. I am reading the wonderful reviews for the Grand Bahia Principe _ Akumal and wondered how much it was for the bride to get her hair done, how much is it for the brides maids bouquet and I am reading that a pool party reception after the dinner was a great option instead of renting the disco. Does anyone know how much it is for the pool party reception? I can't get many answers from the resort because the wedding is not until Jan 2015 but a girl has to plan! I mean my girl has to plan!! ha ah thanks so much for your help girls!!! Lori

We are getting married at Moon Palace in June 2015 Just looking for input/ suggestions from past brides 1. In June, what would be the best time to have ceremony? How long for pictures? Also, how many hours in advance before wedding should we get our hair/makeup done? 2. With the complimentary wedding do the give you an iPod Dock/speaker setup to play music during ceremony ? 3. We are looking at 40-67 guests... any suggestions on cocktail hour and reception locations? I know some locations charge an extra $12 per person for setup fee. Is there any that would fit us that does not charge the fee? 4. For that many guests how much cake do we need? What's your favorite flavor? 5. Also any recommendations on which cocktail food choices and buffets would you suggest ? Also, do they let you have your own signature drinks? 6. Any reviews on Moon's DJ? Dancing is a must!! Or is it better to rent iPod Dock/speakers? 7. We are planning on having a welcome dinner or welcome cocktail party? Any suggestions on where and what time? 8. Do we need a rehearsal? 10. For the reception we might buy one of the collections, but if we don't can we rent one or two pieces from a collection? I seen the Zuniga catalog and even their prices are high. We might use the resort photographer for wedding. We would like to do a TTD session. Would that take place on site at the resort or off site? Trying to avoid outside vendor fees. Any suggestions of local photographers and pricing/packages for TTD
