This is 2nd round of engagement photos. You can visit my gallery and see the story behind the first photos that necessitated a second shoot. For this shoot, we went to Las Vegas, the place where we got engaged and will be married, to get some great photos. I decided to make some props for sharts & giggles! Tickled at how they came out. I actually left them with the photographer because I didn't want to haul them back to Cali! Bunnting Banner.docx DIY-Photo-Shoot-Props-Printable.pdf ME too!.docx She said YES!.docx

7 Websites to Help You Plan the Wedding of Your Dreams
MarieSamSanchezPhoto posted a article in Planning
My reliance on the internet when it comes to handling every day life is astounding, but while planning my destination wedding it was even more apparent just how much I needed the internet to help guide me through the wedding planning process. Although every bride's journey and experience is different, I thought I should share a few of my favorite sites when it comes to planning The Wedding Day! -- Best Destination Wedding Forum: Well obviously this is number one. I don't really remember how I came upon this jewel of a site, but what I do know is that once I became a member, I was hooked. I logged into the BDW forum daily -- actually several times a day -- and collectively with all the great tips from other fellow brides, grooms and and vendors, I was able to craft what I consider my dream wedding. Fortunately, since then, BDW has grown and expanded to offer brides other insightful sections, such as: Wedding Tips, Resort Reviews and Vendor Reviews. I cannot stress enough how lucky you are to have found this site as you begin your journey as a destination wedding bride! -- Loverly: Inspiration and tips galore. I love this website because it offers so much, including wedding planning tools, free wedding websites and plenty of advice and tips. -- Style Me Pretty: What can I say? This website is just full of beautiful pictures that will leave you daydreaming about your I Do's. Chockful of visual inspiration, once you log on, you'll likely find yourself scrolling non-stop because everything is just so ... pretty -- Ruffled: It's pretty much the mother of all wedding blogs filled with real-life wedding inspiration and lots of stylish/trendy ideas. You can peruse through the DIY Projects section for tons of inspiration or even post a few weddings items for sale. This site has everything when it comes to weddings! -- Wedding Wire: It's a great resource for planning everything for your Wedding Day, but it's most known for it's massive venue/vendor guide. From venues to vendors, Wedding Wire listings are super helpful in offering up reviews and suggestions when planning your dream celebration. -- Destination I Do: Dedicated to destination weddings and honeymoons, this site is catered for brides and grooms like you. You can find destination vendors and venues on this site and even create a wedding registry or wedding website. And lest I forget, the gorgeous photos of real-life destination weddings! -- Etsy: I cannot tell a lie, I am obsessed with DIY creations and well we all know Etsy is the mothership when it comes to handmade crafts. Just type in a search of any wedding items you're looking for and this site will give you plenty of options and inspiration for various budgets. I purchased the Groom and Groomsmen boutonnieres on this site and had no regrets! It's also a great source for craft inspiration if you're more of a DIY gal. You can find everything you need and more on Etsy to give your wedding all the pretty little finishing touches you can imagine. What websites have you found helpful in the planning process? Share your suggestions in the comments! - - - About me: I am a former BDW Bride AKA as MarieSam and was addicted to this forum as I planned my own wedding in 2009. Hello beautiful brides, I know that brainstorming for the OOT bag can be frustrating and also challenging, so many ideas and counting how many days are left to the wedding day can be a nerve wreck!! If you order too soon: you might change your mind, specially if you find something nicer and better later where you might be regretting because you spent money already and changed your mind (this is the most common situation while planning) If you order too late and wait for ideas: you might miss good sales, deliveries, colors, items available etc.. OOT Bags and Favors: I feel that this will depend on what you want to spend and how crazy you want to go (with the details). There is not right or wrong to spend too much or too little, because each bride doing either or will have her own justification..which is understandable! What was important to me for the OOT bags-favors: The colors, logos and the designs matching my entire wedding theme were my big dream!, I was doing tons of research. I starting placing several orders online and spent good money in the begging. When my orders started arriving I realized that I did not have a wedding theme or any logo with colors that matched anywhere . I was very concern and the orders were disappointing because I had spent good money already. I wanted to have my own logo, same designs, colors and my wedding theme displayed EVERYWHERE, , basically ALL matching. My colors were coral and aqua. All on my wedding day came beautifully and exactly how I dreamed it and my OOT bags were just what I planned on every single design. I am good at designing and I love to create ideas for decor and all that fun stuff , since I have a brother who is very skilled, I asked him to sit down with me and start creating a "Lina & TK" wedding theme...it would be our design displayed EVERYWHERE. brainstorm on what I envisioned. We used our suite design program (reason why I do not have templates ) PLEASE!! ask any questions you may want...I would LOVE to create an entire wedding theme for a bride I do finance LOL and discovered how much I love this this is just pretty far from what I do for a living! more than happy to help! it is exciting! Yes!! we got tons of ideas from this website which I am very thankful for. all pics below are DIY and MORE ... The real hard work started to make my dream come true...welcome bags and some pics of decor too Now all designs come true: Bubbles for the ceremony fans with programs (all customized with logos) Spanish and English (Had to do it in both languages) all would match my decor I made these rings inside the survival kit signage FINALLY ALL MATCHED ON THE MOST AMAZING DAY OF MY LIFE!!! PS. Please open each picture attachment-thumbnail if you decide to view it BIGGER!! they appear small because I have attached so many lol ALSO if you want to review my entire planning thread PLEASE check it out it might help you with some ideas!!! Love, Lina

One of the reasons why we opted for a destination wedding is because we wanted our celebration to have an intimate feel, being surrounded by only our closest circle of family and friends. But like all weddings, both near or far, there were some loved ones who simply couldn't be there with us -- because they had already passed on. So when planning our wedding, I wanted to find a unique way to recognize these special people who could only be with us in spirit. After scouring through websites and photos for different ways to remember our loved ones, we decided to create a small reception table of framed photos of each person that was lit by candlelight and a sweet poem. I cannot tell you how many of our guests expressed how much they loved the idea. It was an easy, simple but beautiful tribute to our loved ones who we kept close to our hearts on our Wedding Day. Here's the poem we used: Always With Us Today we pause to reflect upon Those who have shaped our character, Molded our spirits and touched our hearts. May the lighting of these candles be a Reminder of the memories we have shared, A representation of the everlasting Impact you have had upon our lives. Although we can’t see you We know that you are here Smiling down and watching As we say “I Do” Forever in our hearts Forever in our lives Forever in our minds This is in loving memory of you… Did you do something special for the people who could only be there in spirit on your Wedding Day? Share your ideas with us in the comment section. - - - About me: I am a former BDW Bride AKA as MarieSam and was addicted to this forum as I planned my own wedding in 2009. So I was rly upset about not being able to afford a wedding video bc I really wanted to capture all the sights/sounds of the whole week. Luckily my cousin used this cool video app at her wedding called weddingmix that lets you make a really fun wedding video out of all the memories with everyone at your wedding. I love the idea of seeing my wedding through the eyes of my family and friends throuout the whole 7 days were in Cali!! Are you guys using an video apps for your wedding ?

Hey Everyone, I’ve have a couple of lovely compliments on my DW flowers so I decided to add a new thread to share the details with you. The resort had sent many, many, pictures of all sorts of flowers (from previous weddings) to give me ideas but none seemed to have the pizzazz that I was looking for. I found some great inspiration online when trying to decide on what kinds of flowers, colours, and shapes I wanted for my bouquet to match our style, attire, and décor. This is the picture that started it all: Once I saw the colourful wire-wrap on the stems I knew, I HAD TO HAVE IT! I figured this was pretty unique and of all places Cuba would probably not have anything like this so I searched eBay.ca and bough my own Aluminum Jewelry Wire, in our wedding colours, in 15 Gauge. Here is the link to the item I bought: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/New-1Roll-12-15-18Gauge-1-0-1-5-2-0mm-Aluminum-Jewelry-Wrap-Craft-Wire-12Color-/400568137637?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item5d43b8b7a5 I also bought wide (6inch) black satin ribbon to wrap the stems with before, so the colour would pop. I was planning on adding the ribbons and wire wrap after delivery from the florist, as a DIY, but the wedding coordinator said that the florist would have no problem doing it all for me and I think they did a pretty great job. As part of my wedding package with the resort, the following flowers were included: one bouquet, one boutonnière, and one centerpiece arrangement. Due to some issues with the Varadero florist (full details to come later in my resort review) none of our flowers of choice or colour were available (and we were not being that picky, honest). They had 4 types of flowers plus baby’s breath, all were white and pink. We used 3 of the types of flowers (the other were white chrysanthemums aka ‘funeral flowers’ as per the wedding coordinator). We didn’t particularly like any of the flowers as a centerpiece so instead i asked that they make a smaller bouquet to toss, they did this no problem. Since they had nothing available in blue and I desperately wanted to tie in our other wedding colour we added in loops of blue gauze ribbon to the bouquets and used it on the boutonnière as well. I’m so happy I brought what was left from our wedding favors with me ‘Just in case’, it turned out PERFECT! Here are some pictures of our flowers: Lessons learned: be flexible, be creative, and pack EVERYTHING you can think of that you might need!

So, I am not reinventing the wheel here or anything, but I am SO proud of how these turned out and I had to post my pictures. I'm not that crafty so me DIY'ing anything is AMAZING. I used a lot of supplies from work (badges, badge inserts) so the cost was minimal. I bought the wrist coil / whistle key chains from Oriental Trading Co, plus the flashlights from there too. Trip Advisor had complaints that the resort gets dark in the evening, and the path lights get turned off, so viability can stink. I thought the flashlights would be more useful than the whistle (also I was having nightmares about my drunk guests blowing whistles at all hours of the day / night and being annoying as heck.) Here's the finished product: Also attaching the template that is all over BDW.Room Key Tip Card v2.docx

I know it is still super early but I just enjoy doing this kind of stuff and it's one more thing to cross off my checklist! I would like to thank many of you for giving me so much inspiration and also for some of my text which I borrowed from all your great ideas. FYI I do not plan to mail these until about one or two months before our wedding Lol

Hi all! Hopefully this isn't a repeat post, when I searched they were all old posts, but there's a Vistaprint Groupon happening right now! Options $24.99 for $50 worth of custom invitations and announcements $49.99 for $100 worth of custom invitations and announcements $99.99 for $200 worth of custom invitations and announcem https://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-vistaprint-invitations-announcements I bought mine and am probably going to buy a template from Etsy and print them through Vistaprint since I find there invitation services a little confusing (It's hard to find the entire suite).

My fiance and I are interested in doing the passport invitations - so cute! I was planning to do them myself with some assist from a creative friend, but I saw them online for what I think is a very reasonable price - $120 for 50 invitations. If you did passport invitations as a DIY project, how much did you spend and how many invitations did you make? If the cost is close to $120, I would just purchase them but if it's significantly cheaper to DIY (which I know it usually is) I'll go that route. Thanks!

Well I'm now under 2 months until the big day and I thought that starting a planning journal will keep me organized and hopefully help some girls with wedding ideas. I have tackled a lot of DIY projects, ordered a lot from Etsy and have used a lot of ideas from BDW past/future brides in the last 17 months since I got engaged and started my destination wedding journey. This hasn't always been a fun experience but I know in the end it will all be worth it and we will have the wedding we dreamed of and worked so hard for. First let me start with how my fiance and I met. OUR STORY My fiance and I met in the 4th grade, he was a new student who came from a private catholic school and sat right next me. We became fast friends and were even in a play together. After 4th grade he left public school I guess it wasn't for him lol and he went back to private catholic school for 5th grade. Then in 6th grade he came back but we weren't friends anymore we had grown apart, we had new friends and drifted away. haha I like to tease him and say I wasn't cool enough for him anymore. We continued to go to school together throughout elementary school, middle school and high school as acquaintances but never really became close like in 4th grade. We had totally different set of friends I was super involved with school, sports and after school activities and he was the total opposite only hanging out with his cool older brothers friends and very focused on cars and racing. Funny story is that we actually went to the prom together in the same car his best friend was my date and we all went in my dates car to the prom so those prom pictures are hilarious I'm with my date and hes' right next to me with his date. Fast forward to Junior year of college we both went to different school in different states he went to Penn State in PA and I went to Pace U in NYC. This was the era of the aim instant message and I guess we were friends on aim and he messages me randomly asking me how I was doing and if I would be home for summer break, we are from NJ. We spoke a couple of times and had planned to meet up at a local bar sometime during the summer. When we were both back from school for summer break we ran into eachother at a bar and he made his move which was a shock to me because he is a very shy and quiet guy but that day he had courage, or maybe a couple drinks in him. We became real close that summer talking everyday and hanging out all the time. Then we had to go back to college for our senior year we still kept in contact throughout the whole year becoming closer and closer through instant message and seeing each other during holiday breaks. We never said we were exclusive since he was in PA and I was in NYC but we knew that when we were home it was just us no one else. After graduation we both moved back home and started our new jobs and that's when we made it official on my 22nd birthday. We have been together ever since and can't believe we have known each other as long as we have. We have now been together almost 8 years, have lived together 4 years and have 1 dog Linus together and I can't wait to marry my best friend. I'm in the middle with my date and he's to the left of me with his date.....this is circa 2002 the girl next to me I also met in 4th grade and she is my best friend/bridesmaid. haha Our Engagement We got engaged on 12/20/2012 Every year we try to go to NYC during the holidays to see all the lights and to see the tree at Rockefeller Center. We have a picture from 6 years ago right in front of the tree and David thought it would be a good idea to take that same picture again. I wasn't very excited about waiting on line to take another professional picture in front of the tree since we already had one. When he suggested it I really didn't want to do it but I finally went along anyway and waited on the line. The wait seemed to go on forever as the family in front of us took the opportunity to take about 100 pictures when you are only supposed to take a couple. I didn't notice it at the time but David was definitely sweating it out waiting for the family to finally finish with their photo shoot. It was finally our turn to go up for our picture and as the photographer is putting us in our positions I look down and David is on one knee. Not realizing he was proposing I ask him what he is doing as he opened up the box. I immediately start blushing and bawling like a baby as I'm am surprised/shocked and can't believe what's going on. The photographer also didn't know what David had planned and started documenting the proposal and snapped us some good pictures. Everyone around also realized what was going on and they started cheering and clapping for us. After I said "yes" David tried to put the ring on my finger but being that it was winter time I had gloves on and didn't realize I still had them on and he couldn't put the ring on. It was definitely a funny and romantic moment. To celebrate we walked to Central Park and looked at all the christmas lights and we ended our night by having dinner and dessert at Serendipity. It was a perfect night. Deciding On a Destination Wedding My fiance and I are not really all about the big wedding and all the attention so we always knew we wanted a small intimate wedding with just our family and closest friends. We chose our resort for many reasons, our wedding is at the All Inclusive Adults Only Le Blanc Spa Resort in Cancun, Mexico. We fell in love with the resort back in 2009 when we went there on vacation, the service is impeccable, the decor is beautiful, the beach is very private, the food amazing and it just felt right. It wasn't easy for everyone in the family to agree to come but after months of planning and giving people more information they came around and now we have 36 people booked and all staying at LeBlanc Spa. LeBlanc was a great choice for us especially with the benefits you get if you book 75 nights. We did reach the nights and now we are getting unlimited free events which helps with our welcome cocktail party, private rehearsal dinner and cocktail hour/2 hours of reception.

I created my own wedding signs/chair signs. I wanted to design my own because my wedding color is seafoam and I am obsessed with having everything match perfectly!!!! It was really easy to do... I went to this site: http://www.printmoz.com/foamboard-posters I ordered 1/8" Foam Board Poster. 12" width x 6" height.. Multisided "Senora/Senor" Sign with "Muchas Gracias" on the back 12" width x 6" height And I ordered another 1/8" Foam Board Poster. 24" width x 6" height .. Single Sided "Hi Grandma" Sign 24" width x 6" height Unfortunately neither of our Grandmas will be able to make it to Mexico.. I created this sign as a way to make them feel special I created the designs on picmonkey.com. Once I placed my order with printmoz, they were extremely helpful in making sure the designs fit the boards perfectly. I emailed the representative several times with my designs to ensure they looked great. Once the boards came in, I used a hole punch to punch the top corner. Then I used seafoam tulle to make loops.

I am beyond pleased at how well my invitations came out! They were definitely a labor of love. My graphic designer friend did the layout, but the concept of the invite is mine. The guests so far have been quite pleased with the quality of the invites and how much fun our wedding is going to be! I must admit, I can find several mistakes with my critical eye that were overlooked, but they still make me smile!

I loved the idea of having the groomsmen wear Starfish Boutonnieres instead of flowers. Way more masculine and I think it goes perfectly with my Starfish Theme! I bought these 1-2" knobby starfish from North Florida Shells: http://www.northfloridashells.com/Bulk-Lots-of-3-6-12-25-50-100-300-Count-White-Knobby-Starfish-_p_196.html Then I bought flat back pins, thin seafoam ribbon and reused some leftover raffia. I gathered the raffia and put a few seafoam ribbons together and hot glued it to the flat back pin. Then I kinda spruced up the raffia on the sides. So easy and they look so cute! Boutonnieres are at least $30 going through my resort. This is much cheaper!!!

Hi everyone, Our wedding is just a little over two months away, so these invitations were sent awhile back. I finally have a chance to post and to share them with all you lovely brides and grooms (possibly a few here?). This forum has been so helpful when we gather our ideas, so I thought we would do the same for others. It took us about two weeks from the designing phase to putting it all together to make a total of 60 invitations. My fiance and I did all the designing, scoring, folding, gluing, cutting, corner punching, stuffing and ribbon tying. We tried do a little bit after dinner every night and during the weekend, so it was definitely a labour of love. We were really particular to the minor details as well, even when we know our guests may not pay as much attention to it. However, both of us knew that we were doing it for ourselves and we are really proud of it. It definitely helps that our friends and family loved it a lot! They really appreciate the efforts that was put into the invitations. I am sorry that I can't remember all the invitations that I have seen, but I want to thank everyone that has previously posted their own work here. I am sure I found some inspiration from all of your beautiful work. So THANK YOU!!! DESIGN TEMPLATE We researched a lot of ideas and try to find things that we would like to include. We downloaded the outline template @ Aylee Bits (http://www.ayleebits.com/2006/06/10/diy-boarding-pass-save-the-date/) THANK YOU! and did all of our designing in Photoshop. TOOLS (We will be reusing some of the tools for other DIY projects) Trimmer/Scorer from Walmart @ $20 Corner Puncher from Michaels @ $10 Starfish Punch from Michaels @ $13 Scissors from Home @ FREE Ruler from Home @ FREE MATERIALS Ribbons from Walmart @ $0.50 x 4 rolls Perforator from Walmart @ $3 Flowers Pins from Michaels @ $2.99 x 50 pcs x 2 boxes Double sided tape from Michaels @ $1.50 x 2 rolls Colour Cardstock (65lbs) from Michaels @ $3.80 x 6 stacks of 50 pcs - There are five colours and we are using one set of the mint/green for the invitations, the other set of mint/green will be used for our passport welcome book, so it's about $0.19 per sheet. White Cardstock (65lbs) from Staples @ $14.99 x 250 sheets - Between testing and errors, we used about 100 sheets, so that's about $0.06 per sheet. Everything we bought from Michaels were all from using coupons! We hand delivered majority of the invitations and only had to mail a few to overseas guests. So including the mail costs and tax, we spent around $100 (including the tools that we are reusing for other projects), making it approximately $1.70 per invitation. Hi Ladies! My aunt is a florist and event planner (in south america) and will be attending the wedding. If we can get a hold of fresh flowers, she would like to make my bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets and boutonnieres. Does anyone know of any places that we can buy some once we are in Cancun and/or whether the Moon Palace will let you bring in flowers and do this?
