  1. Make sure to check with the resort to see if outside vendors are even allowed - many resorts have contracts with specific ones and either do not allow others or they charge a fee to use them
  2. Yes and gives your guests so many options not available at a traditional wedding
  3. We are getting married on the beach and i know 25 years from now - we will take our kids (and possible grandkids) to a far away beach and do it again
  4. For out of counrty weddings (especially ones not in your native tongue) a TA is a must
  5. Yes always good to know what your destinations rainy season is and be prepared (mentally and emotionally) for the possibility either way
  6. they have watches and all sorts of stuff out there nowadays
  7. as much as i hate tanning salons and beds - pretan is your safest bet - and limit your exposure - you will already be tanned when you get there so there is no need to lay i the sun for 5 hours lol - 45 mins get some shade for 30 - rinse and repeat as needed and reapply every 2 cycles
  8. Havent put much thought into everything - have to wait to see how the days before progress
  9. Sandos new Luxury hotel offers a venue for 50 guests but the packsage itself cost 2500US and is a rooftop venue and the stay itself is fairly pricey
  10. beige dress pants - white shirt - blue vest and tie and NO SHOES hehe toes in the sand
  11. yes us here too - getting married at the courthouse and just doing a symbolic ceremony at the venue in Mexico - we are having a small reception when we get back home for anyone who is also having trouble affording the trip but wanting to share in our love
  12. if only they would lose the idea that your cellphone would crash the plane already there are mean wifi/bluetooth games that can be payed across devices
  13. Sounds like a great idea - especially when your wedding venue has free wifi - every picture and upload and for goodness sake looking at their phone during the ceremony
  14. Yes it is very misleading - No one likes having things changed on them last minute - especially brides - but I am jumping to no conculsion that resorts photographers are no good - some of the photos I hae seen are very wonderful - most resorts just have contracts with outside vendors so as to not encroch or pay a fee for that encrochment - You are a photographer adversting photography and thus your photos are edited professionally (as they should be) and the photographers at the resort hand you a CD before you leave 2 days later - while they have other weddings to shoot and only so much time.
  15. But how to I include the reception I am having back home once we return for those guests that we want to celebrate with that can afford or make the actual ceremony?
  16. Websites are great interaction points for all guests and for the bride and groom - especially with destination weddings. Gift registries are a thing of the past though and if I am asking my guests to fork out 1800+ to come to my wedding no way in hell am I going to ask for gifts too - that is just selfcentered and cruel.
  17. Always communicate - 100% honesty and openess - cant feel like you'd rather leave things unsaid because it will build up under the surface and eventually tear down everything you are trying to build
