  1. @@SoEze.....I just returned from my stay at Royalton White Sands....the food was very good.  The buffet for breakfast has a lot of choices and was good.  On Monday nights they have a Beach party and the food was great.....lamb, jerk chicken, grilled mussels, etc.

The regular rooms are a bit small but we stayed in the presidential suites and it was beautiful.   I put a pictures in the gallery.

  2. @@TinkerSofi...I agree also.  I am not a fan of bubble hems either but my entourage and the consultant loved the dress on me....but after I left I realized that was not the vision I had for my wedding.  I kept looking and then finally made another appointment and returned to the store.  The dress was in the front of the store when I went in the second time and I told the consultant I want to try this on.  This time I had a glow and I knew it would be perfect.

    @@kcole123...thank you!  :)

  3. I have changed my dress.....I liked the first one but the bubble hem was driving me crazy so I returned it and was able to do an exchange for a different dress.  I am now so happy and actually feel like a bride ready for a DW.  I had to order a larger size because I am a curvy girl (I couldn't breathe in the picture!  Haha! ) However, had I looked at this dress on line I wouldn't have tried it on.....the model doesn't do the dress justice.  :)

  4. Hi Ladies.....I made it back from my mini vacation to Jamaica.  I had the chance to stay at the Royalton and met with Chandlyn (wedding manager).  Chandlyn is really nice and very helpful with all of my endless questions.  During my visit I also went to Secrets and Iberostar.  I have to say that Royalton is a much better choice....only downside is the regular rooms are a bit small, which I will let my guests know in advance.  The presidential suite and honeymoon suites are very nice!!  (We stayed in Presidential).

We have booked our stay for the wedding with my travel agent and we were able to get 8 nights in the Presidential Suite for $2800. (Very nice deal!)

I am now working with Ellie to get the wedding booked.  We are doing October 10, 2015 at 5 pm.

I have posted pics in the photo gallery - Royalton White Sands.  I have a lot of pics in there but I tried to put a little of everything in there.

There is also a rooftop location that you can use for the ceremony or cocktail hour, the only draw back is it steps (no elevator) and it is very steep to get up there.   That is very beautiful!!!

    I hope this helps......happy planning!

@@pamelas21.....I have posted the photos in the gallery.  It is titled Royalton White Sands.   I included pictures of the conference room so I hope this helps.

The conference room is really big.  Chandlyn stated they are in the process of getting the room dividers but it was very nice!

    Hope this helps.

    Tish

  5. @@paulah1984....congrats on your wedding and booking your resort.  I am also looking at Royalton White Sands....I am actually doing a site visit on June 9th.   I am leaving for Jamaica June 6th and will be touring Secrets, Iberostar (I've been there before but doing a second look) and Royalton.

If there is anything you want me to check out while I am there, let me know.  I will be taking pictures and posting here.

    Good luck!

  6. @@chelseapaige37.....I also have been having a hard time....I actually purchased a gown from David's Bridal that was taffeta and had a bubble hem....the more I thought about that dress, the more I disliked it and I took pictures of myself in it (I actually have it posted on this site).  So after many weeks of doubt, I went back to David's this past Sat.  I actually found a lace and tulle dress that so fits my vision.

The dress I picked from David's is not online yet (it is new)..it is sweetheart neckline, small bling around waist that is already attached, and form fitting!  It is $999.  I think it is v3680 if you have a David's near you.

I also didn't take a huge amount of people with me to dress shop....I think one or two is enough.  Remember to look online and have some ideas about what you want....because the first time I went I had no idea and the consultant sorta picked the first dress.  But the second time around I new how I wanted to look and what I wanted.

I hope this helps!  Good luck!

  7. I love this idea... I am also getting married in Jamaica. How will you go about getting these to put in your OOT bags? is there a place you order from down there that will ship them?

@@kay2015.....I am actually going to Jamaica in a few weeks and I am going to check out some shops to get favors.  I think I am actually going to purchase them in Jamaica prior to the wedding instead of ordering them and then having to take them to Jamaica. I am not expecting that many guests so I will put the favor bags together while I am there prior to the wedding.

  8. @@rachelchic81....I am planning on a Jamaica wedding.  Which resort did you get married?  I have three in mind, Iberostar, Secrets and Royalton White Sands.   I did a site visit last year in October to Iberostar and Secrets. I will be going to Jamaica June 6th to visit Secrets again and Royalton White Sands.  Any advice would be great!!!

    Congratulations on your wedding!

  9. @Inb2014 congratulations on your wedding.  That is so wonderful she was able to take care of you with short notice.  A true testament to customer service.

I will have to contact Dawn as I was thinking of doing a cruise but didn't want to use the cruise line to plan the wedding at port (Trying to decide between regular DW and cruise as my parents don't want to fly).

  10. I agree with all of the previous brides who have chosen Jamaica.  It is a lot easier to be married, no blood tests, no translations etc.

My girlfriend was married in Mexico last July, she has yet to receive her marriage documents to submit to have her marriage legalized here in the States.

With Jamaica, if you live in the states (and many other countries), it is automatically legal and you don't have to submit additional documents once you return home.

  11. @@pamelas21.....thanks!  I have de-stressed quite a bit.  I have decided to do the wedding my way (a cruise was not doing it for me!) lol.  The good thing is this is my second marriage.  (I am an older bride - 46 years young!!!)  My father walked me down the isle the first time.  I spoke with them and they understand why I want to have a destination wedding.  When we come home, we are going to have a dinner for the parents (my fiancé's parents won't be flying either).    I have realized there is way to make it all work out.

As far as the venue...once I come back from the site visit (June) I will be able to make my final decision and get my STDs out.  My travel agent is very good, so she will be able to get the everyone on a payment plan.
