Has any recent brides used parasols instead of bouquets? If so, how did it turn out?

Has anyone tried the Honeymoon Registry with AMResorts (Secrets, Dreams, Now resorts)? We are considering their registry.

I'm interested in a shopping excursion to Playa del Carmen fron Now Jade. How would I go about securing transportation for 2-3 hours for 30 ppl? Any recommendations?

Yes! That was my understanding. Based on trends the best prices are 5-7 weeks out, according to the TA. I'm not so sure I can wait that long. That would stress me out

My cousin, a TA, just told me this! Now if I can just find a way to resist the urge to buy as soon as flights are available...

Yeah I wasn't planning on the guest using them as a pool bag. I was thinking of using a more economical bag so that I can splurge on useful contents. However if I can get a good deal on the VP bags then its a win-win!

This is awesome! I love the paragraph about the gifts in post #1. I need help with wording in another area. I do not want invited guest talking about our wedding on our fb pages because most of our friends won't be invited. We are telling people is a small wedding. The reality of it is that a few friends are closer than others so they were invited. I'm just not sure how to tactfully ask family and the few friends invited not to mention the wedding on fb.

I was wondering if the bags on VistaPrint were of good quality. I'm either going to use those or just get brown Kraft bags and large oval label stickers for the sides. Have you tried Dollar Tree for your tumblers? Another bride on here said she raided her local stores for about 40 I think. There is also a website called Discount Mugs or something like that for tumblers too. Hope that helps!

Point of clarification-When you say Welcome Dinner in the buffet area, are you suggesting to have everyone enter together so that you can kind if take over one section of the restaurant? As far as gifts, I'm getting the girls a nice makeup/toiletry bag, robes someone recommended on Etsy and a small jewelry piece. FI is handling the gifts for the guys.

Did you mail your guest a little something to say "Thank You" after they booked their room with your TA? If so, what? I need ideas! Also, if you have a template of a card you made, please share!

How did you use your "free rooms"? I'm talking about the promotion where you get a free room for every 5 or 6 rooms booked. Did you keep them for yourself or divide the savings amongst all guest? We are thinking of using the free rooms for ourselves. That way we only pay for our honeymoon at a different resort. Are we allowed to be selfish this one time?!?!

Whoa! $500 cheaper per person? Just out of curiosity, what rate are your guest paying? I'm currently booked at Now Jade but after visiting a family resort within the same brand we are second guessing. Things are a lot different at an Adults Only resort. Thanks

This week my family and I spent time in Punta Cana to celebrate my 30th. Since I was hosting the vacation, I decided to treat everyone to free roundtrip airport transfers. I researched for a few days and came across Dominican Airport Transfers (DAT). I couldn't find many reviews on them so I was skeptical. They were also $100 cheaper. After a little more digging I decided to go with them because the small amount of reviews (4) were all positive. They were phenomenal! They are locally operated by OTIUM. They were always ON TIME, provided clean and safe transportation. One van still had plastic wrap on the back seat. It was brand new! We recommended them to several people at the resort to use. We we saw them again at the airport they raved of the company too. I said all that to say-consider them as an alternative to using the company your resort may offer. We stayed at Dreams Punta Cana (never to retun again) and the transportation offered thru them and other companies were over $275 for 6 people. I paid $164 for a private transfer with them. Hi ladies! I just came back from Dreams Punta Cana with my family. We were there celebrating my 30th birthday. I saw a few groups that were there for weddings. I'm wondering if any brides from here were there this past week?

I'm going to a DW in a few months. Yesterday the bride told me that only 6 of the 40 people invited booked. Yikes! The deadline is in two weeks. Keep in mind we received STD over a year ago. I called a few of our friends to see what the hold up was. Listed below are their reasons 4 couples gave me: (1) RSVP'd but can't attend. Haven't told the couple yet (2) (2) Hate talking to people on the phone so dreading the call to the TA (1) (3) Never intended on going. Haven't told the couple (1) I'll be keeping these excuses in mind while waiting on people to book. Personally, I'd rather you tell me you aren't coming so that I can move on.

Yeah that place is gorgeous! He calmed down after we went over the budget...even worst case scenarios. He had no idea how expensive wedding related items are. It definitely opened his eyes and I think he will be a hands on groom from here on out!
