    I've seen couples put a cow or fish on menu cards or place cards so the wait staff would know which dish went where. I wish I could remember where I saw an example of this on here. I'm interested in hearing other suggestions as well. I'm not sold on the one I mentioned.

    I'm not planning on having a card box since we keep telling people their "presence is present enough". Our bridal party is discreetly puting out by word of mouth that we will be setting up a honeymoon registry. That way if they still have the desire to give, they can contribute to that. As far as favors, we are still deciding between maracas from Amols or doing a group excursion. Ultimately it will depend on our final guest count.

    I was planning on ditching the boutonniere but FI decided he wanted vests for the guys. To cut costs we are doing a non-floral boutonniere. I've seen bouts made out of a thick starfish with a pin superglued to the back. As for the BMs I am using parasols and using the small floral credit towards decor for my chuppah.

    I'm thinking the same thing; they have updated their system to cut down on double deals. I'm usually pretty good at beating the system...lol but I couldn't combine those two for the life of me. Has anyone been able to combine Retail Me Not AND GroupOn within the last week? I tried on Friday and Saturday.

    Same thing happened to me this past weekend. Whenever I put in my Groupon code...the 50% off each item disappeared. I entered VP via RetailMeNot which is where the 50% off each item came from. At any rate...I never figured it out. I just ordered what I could a will try again next time.

    As of right now we are using our iPod and renting the equipment. We are expecting between 25-30 people with our grandparents and other elderly people being 5. I think we can manage. Who knows...as we get closer we may sing another tune and book a DJ.

    Your comment made me think of something! Why even bother with RSVP cards? Its extra postage and envelopes. People can RSVP by putting down a deposit. Having RSVP cards are so traditional when it comes to weddings so people expect them. To us, they aren't necessarily functional. Ppl can say yes until they are blue in the face. The reality of it is that until their FINAL payment is made...they are still tentative guest. Now granted after a deposit is made we can definitely narrow our count down. Sorry for the narrative...I'm thinking out loud

    I am still deciding. FI doesn't care one way or the other...lol. I may go with the resort's photographer. Based on reviews from past Now Jade brides, I need to specifically request a photographer named Chelsea (I think that's her name). Apparently she is really good. I am also strongly considering hiring a photographer for a Cenote TTD session. I really want underwater photos. Who are you considering?

    Is there a ramp to get up to the Pergola? I saw stairs. My Grandmother is on a walker and I don't want to have her climbing up and down stairs. Past brides, are there any other things I should be considering to make our grandparents comfortable?

    Good! I was looking for a reason to skip the inner envelope. If a someone asks, I use my famous line: "We are having a non-traditional wedding so expect non-traditional things." BOOM!

    Did any past brides have bottled water available for the guest during the ceremony? Hopefully this wouldn't be an additional cost for the convience of having water in a bucket nearby vs having to walk to the bar for water.
