  1. Where did you order this from? It's very nice! Quote: Originally Posted by Nicci86 This is my tiara...although it hasn't arrived yet.
  2. I'm making my own Real Touch flower bouquet in Edmonton. Flowers from Michaels at $10 each (but 40% off coupon online brings them to $6 each), plus supplies, the total comes to $60 for the bouquet. They didn't have a very good selection of real touch, but I'm really happy with these!! Plus the resort wants between $175-300 for a bouquet that I can't even bring back into Canada past customs! Here is the Youtube video that I've found most helpful (3 parts) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHZkAB3j1rk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AiEiwwZ3ws http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mKz4mQfkiQ
  3. If Sunquest gives you a good quote I would highly recommend them! They have honoured our price even though we wanted to switch dates. And then they honoured our flight and trip even though they pulled their travel program from Edmonton to Jamaica (since WestJet was no longer offering direct flights). And then they negotiated with other tour companies to buy extra seats when we had over the 60 person allotment that they could offer. And they were able to hold the entire 60 people allotment from day 1, allowing us to drop completely without any payment penalty until they finalized the flight schedule. I could NOT EVER go with WestJet Vacations Groups. They have been terrible the entire time, and even when I complained they kept redirecting me to different departments, and then when I finally got to the right department they never got back to me. Clearly do not care about customer service. They also had the worst tour concessions (1 HOTEL ONLY free for ever 25 people). Sunquest is 1 entire trip free for every 16 people. I would definitely get a travel agent though, even when going through these companies. A travel agent got me better prices than they quoted directly, and has dealt with many of the guests questions that I didnt want to deal with (ie can i have a window seat, what'd the price if i want to leave from a different city, etc). And they are free!
  4. I have decided to make my own real touch bouquet in Edmonton. I'm buying 7 extra large real-touch roses from Michaels (at 40% off with their online coupon), and it looks pretty easy to do a hand tied bouquet on Youtube. My total costs will come to about $60. (42 for flowers, plus floral tape, ribbon and other supplies). Here's the flowers just held together in store:
  5. sfox4214, are you comfortable sharing Rachel Edwards prices? I would also like airbrush, lashes, and hair but just for myself. Shauna 253, I'm at the Beach not the suites, but we get $1500 in travel credits for every 16 people that we bring (1 free person minus taxes for every 16 people). We maxed this out and get $6000 in travel credits. We are spending $2000 of this to bring our photographer (no money out of our pocket and she charges nothing if we pay for travel fees). My fiance and I will be spending the week at the Beach for free (still have to pay taxes of $300 pp), and the rest we are using to lower the prices for 9 of our guests who booked later and are paying a higher fee than other guests. We booked with Sunquest to get this perk. With WestJet I believe it was 1 free trip (minus taxes) for every 25 people you bring, and other tour companies had 1 free for 18 or 19. But they also had different base prices, so its worth doing all of the math!
  6. I Just saw this idea on a post wedding sale and then was going to post it here, but I see it's already done! This is their picture (from Kijiji), and I LOVE the idea for a beach wedding!!! Too bad I already have 5 suitcases of stuff haha
  7. There is a thread that does this, I think it is called "Everything you can do with Vistaprint" . Hopefully that can help you! Good luck!
  8. I haven't bought any mens suits online, but my fiance is wearing a more casual outfit from Banana Republic and it's very nice!
  9. Great idea! I like all of your suggestions! Maybe some breath mints or candies or gum? condoms haha? floss or those little floss-tooth-pic things? nail file? pen? little notepad?
  10. I personally wouldn't want to leave my guests for the last few days, but I like the suggestion of upgrading to the Grand. To rant: I am mad at guests who want to book elsewhere and then come for the wedding day. Id prefer that they didn't come, to be honest. Traditionally the bride/ groom pay for the day pass for the people coming, but I think that is SHIT, I dont want to pay $75pp on top of everything else I am paying for, for guests that I couldn't care less if they came! They are only going to save like $150 going to a different resort anyways, it is expensive coming from Edmonton! They are being frugal at my expense!
  11. Has anyone in Canada recently ordered Real Touch flowers? Anyone from Lasting Love in Edmonton?
  12. I bought a second dress for $50 to use for TTD, and it's very similar to my real dress. I'm just going to do my own hair and makeup. We are doing it the morning after the wedding.
  13. Well my Deluxe Vistaprint tote bags came in and I'm not super impressed. They are a much lighter fabric than I had hoped for, and a little smaller than I had hoped. They fit a lot, for example I put in a large beach towel, a bubba mug, a mens hat, and some goodies. But it's like a reusable grocery bag, so you have to take everything out to get to the stuff on the bottom. I will still use them for the wedding party's gift bags/ thank you bags, but I won't order them for the entire wedding group. If I received it, I would use the bags again for groceries and for carrying stuff in general, but wouldn't use it again as a beach bag. I would be really disappointed if I had bought them at full price ($16), but for $4 they are good enough!
  14. For Canadians staying here.. has anyone tried taking out cash at an ATM? Do they take Canadian bank cards? IS there an ATM on site? Do servers prefer tips in US dollars or Jamaican Dollars?
  15. I'm planning on bringing 5 extra suitcases (blush) I've had some guests volunteer to bring it as their second suitcase, so only a $25 charge for each suitcase. I plan on leaving the suitcases in Jamaica so that I don't have to bring them back with me. For lots of the stuff I could have it packed already and then drop off with a guest long in advance so that they can deal with bringing it to the airport and everything. That may work for you too if you've got some generous guests
  16. Oh I see he sells 10 for $4 too http://www.ebay.ca/itm/10-Business-ID-Card-Badge-Holder-w-Zipper-Vertical-SL-/400209369366?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d2e565916#ht_2909wt_1163
  17. I did order from ebay. Not sure when they will come in so I can't review them yet. That's a great price from that website, but if you need a (somewhat) smaller number, this is the sellers I bought from on ebay and he sells 25 for $7.38, free shipping. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/25-Business-ID-Card-Badge-Holder-w-Zipper-Vertical-ZV-/130489995128?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e61cf4f78#ht_2693wt_1163
  18. I didn't actually end up ordering them. We are considering getting beach bags instead, and have ordered stuff for room key/tip holders with lanyards. I'm a notorious flip-flopper haha good thing I gave myself a lot of time to plan this wedding.
  19. Older groupons used to say "Not Valid in Canada", but they don't seem to do that anymore. Here is an example of an old one that was limited to USA: http://www.groupon.com/deals/dc-bs1-vista-print-amarillo
