  1. I'm pretty sure that I read that the wedding party is, not sure about the other guests.
  2. Oh another thing! Oriental Trading says that you can't track it if it is shipped to Canada. You can track it AT LEAST until it gets to the border [mine hasn't gotten passed there yet so I'm not sure]. Go to the 'track order' page on the website, and then enter in your tracking number and then for the Zip Code put "48180", which is the Zip Code for BorderFree. This will tell you when it shipped and gives you a tracking number for UPS. Mine should be at the border by Friday
  3. I haven't seen luminary bags around but I would check out Michaels. Otherwise I think you need flame-resistent bags, but you could use regular bags with electrical lights rather than real candles. I love the idea of having them around in the sand! Definitely going to have to steal that haha
  4. I think my fiance and I are going to use this song lol it's a joke song, but we are a pretty fun young couple and we love the song haha. I'm sure people can't hear the words anyways, just the beat. And we Danced- Macklemore
  5. Thanks for answering my questions everyone! My big concern now is what my 100 guests will do between 10:30 and 11 when the disco opens if they shut down the bar/ music/ fire etc...I think the time gap is really poorly planned. Hopefully they are relaxed about enforcing it, but I'd like to have a back up plan and I really dont want to lose my older guests and I think I will if there is half an hour with nothing to do.
  6. haha I keep making the mistake of sending a long email, and then immediately following it with an extra question that I forgot. They ALWAYS only answer the second short question and never get to my real questions. GRR. So I sent my longer list back... here's hoping I get a response!
  7. I think those centerpieces look amazing!!! My hotel's florist asks $45-65 per centerpiece and they look exactly the same. Great work!
  8. Also, can anyone confirm that there is food available 24 hours a day? The website says it is, but also lists the times the restaurants are open and the latest is 10pm...
  9. A few questions for beach brides: [i sent to the WC as well, but who knows how long until I get a response] -Is it possible to get a reggae band on the beach after dinner? If so, what is the cost? -We would like to have a cocktail party after dinner on the Beach. What time does it end? Will the disco be open then, or will the guests have nothing to do until the disco opens? -What is included in the national and international open bar? We want slushy drinks, like daquiris. -we want to show a slideshow during our dinner. Do they have equipment for showing it? Cost? -we want to do our first dance with our dinner too, is there music equipment in the Steakhouse to play music? Cost? -if we decide to rent out the disco, will the adult guests be kicked out between 10:30 and 11?
  10. You guys just sold me on Just Artifacts too! I bought 50 floating lanterns on ebay but tried 2 of them and they didnt work . Money down the drain! I just ordered 10 of the wireless ones from Just Artifacts. Here's hoping!
  11. DwBride2B, Did you find a lingerie place? I was getting a booster juice yesterday in Riverbend Square and saw a place right beside it 'Princess Lingerie'. I didn't go in but there was some nice looking stuff in the window. My friends and fam keep telling me to get lingerie but I never wear it either, and to be honest, knowing my fiance and I, we will probably sneak a break halfway through the night and then party until 4am and then pass out haha. No time for lingerie. Maybe for our honeymoon..?
  12. I just ordered from Oriental Trading again, and I think I figured out the key to shipping. Some things just randomly bump up the shipping to Canada, so I added things to my cart and went through their Borderfree quote system a million times, and dumped things that added up too fast. They also don't ship certain things to Canada, so I would go through the process right away too before I got my heart set on anything. If you use a coupon code from retail-me-not which gives you free shipping, then it deducts around $10 from your shipping on Borderfree. http://www.retailmenot.com/view/orientaltrading.com These are the things I ordered today: -our favours: cookie cutters with recipe card http://www.orientaltrading.com/personalized-wedding-cookie-cutters-with-card-a2-5_1220-12-1.fltr?Ntt=cookie+cutter [they have sea shell ones too, but my fiance thought it looked like a tree so we didnt go with them, but they are cheaper]-->http://www.orientaltrading.com/personalized-summer-wedding-cookie-cutters-with-card-a2-3_2560-12-1.fltr?Ntt=cookie+cutter -Heart shaped note pads 24 for $2.80 http://www.orientaltrading.com/heart-shaped-spiral-notepads-a2-57_6511-12-1.fltr?Ntt=heart+note+pad -inflatable duck coasters 12 for $5 -http://www.orientaltrading.com/inflatable-duck-coasters-a2-12_3941-12-1.fltr?Ntt=inflatable+ducks -Beer Coozies to give out on our excursions 50 for $21 http://www.orientaltrading.com/to-have-and-to-hold-can-covers-a2-3_1601-12-1.fltr?Ntt=have+and+to+hold -table numbers $2 http://www.orientaltrading.com/numbered-table-tent-cards-a2-3_2388-12-1.fltr?Ntt=table+numbers After I used the coupon code WCE3668 my order came to $147 Canadian (i ordered enough stuff for 50 couples, but enough cookie cutters for everyone), and shipping was $27. Not too bad, especially since that is guaranteed no other duties/ customs fees. BUT if I remember from last time, shipping takes a while to Canada... I'll let you know how it turns out!

  15. JA2012, I'm hooked on Michaels too!! Bought my bouquet flowers there, my boutonniere flowers there, some decor, card box, invitations, and we are going to buy our table numbers there. Oh also Ribbon for our fans, and starfish.
  16. For anyone looking for Canvas bags, I saw some really nice ones at Dollarama. Thick canvas, $2 each, well made. They had a design on the side (something about Green/ Environmental something or other), but they were still very nice. I went back yesterday and they were sold out in West Edmonton Mall location, but if you happen to be there you might want to check them out and see if they are in stock at your location.
  17. Im going to Jamaica, and there are particular luggage restrictions. I'm pretty sure that I read that cardboard boxes would be treated as oversized luggage and subject to an extra charge...But don't quote me on that! But it may be something you want to directly ask the airline or your travel agent. I have sent a message out to my family and friends to see if anyone is cleaning out their closets and plans on throwing out any old suitcases. Broken or whatnot, I'll take them. I plan on leaving the suitcases in Jamaica (and told them that lol). I had a huge response, I guess people just like to keep suitcases that are broken hehe. As for bringing them down, To Jamaica on my flight you are only allowed to bring MAX of 2 suitcases, and the second one costs $25. I plan on asking several guests to bring a suitcase of my stuff down as their second suitcase, and pay the $25. I have a LOT of stuff too, probably over 5 suitcases. Since I am leaving January 18th and will see about 80 of our 94 guests at xmas time I have decided to give out our Travel Mugs (favours) at christmas time, and include a packing list and thank you letter. This cuts down at LEAST 2 suitcases of stuff to bring. I will still need 3-4 suitcases for decor and our other favours though (survival kits, tip holders, and potentially totes).
  18. I doubt they would do something like that, it's their hallmark! I hope its a change to their preferred florist lol.
  19. Here are my wedges: I'm concerned about alterations too! I have my fitting on in a week so I'll ask the tailor.
  20. I've asked this question to the brides at my resort, and they said that the sand was not too hot in Jamaica if you get married later in the day, which the resort recommends anyways. We are getting married in Montego Bay in January around 4pm and will have the bridesmaids wear bare feet. I'm going to wear wedges because I like the look of adding some height. I have heard that you can walk in heels if you really focus on putting your weight into your toes while you walk, but that sounds like too much work for me.
  21. For cheap invites, I bought a couple boxes at Michaels with a 40% off coupon from online, and the invitations (with envelope, rsvp card, rsvp envelope) came to around 45 cents each, and I thought they were very cute! I also ordered samples from vistaprint first and they were very good quality too!
  22. I don't know of any resorts off hand, but my travel agent did all the looking for a resort for me. I gave him a list of the things that I wanted, and he came back with a list of resorts. So I would definitely recommend getting a travel agent, particularly one who specializes in destination weddings. For ex, we wanted: 24 hour food and booze, kids allowed at the resort, at least 4 stars, under $2000 per person, all inclusive, and a few other details. He came back with 2 resorts that met both of the requirements, and we chose one based on the reviews online. Turns out the wedding package is half the price at the resort we chose than the other one, so make sure to inquire into the cost of the wedding package too!!
