  1. I've heard this 100 person minimum several times now, but thats not what my papers say. Is that for the grand? ktdawson, I think most brides on here are for the suites or the beach resort. My advice would be to find someone from the Grand and get them to send you their paperwork, which has all of the option that you get the chose from. The resort doesn't give it to you until closer to your wedding [likely because they want to be able to change things lol like costs and number of people]. But even if you have a rough idea of what is offered, all in one spot, then that should help. It may be helpful to join the facebook pages too. The brides give fast answers, but my favourite part is that the brides all come back with pictures, which helps calm my nerves.
  2. My documents say 3 hours for private rental: "Steakhouse –Uncle Tony’s – (7:00pm -10:00pm) * Cajun –Jambalaya – (6:30pm -9:30pm or 7:00pm -10:00pm)" For the non-private it says 1.5 hours, and there is a $200 charge if you stay later. Maybe thats what the confusion is about?
  3. Are you doing a semi-private rental? I think that is only for 2 hours.
  4. I never knew there was an option of staying late. I was going to move to the beach from 10-11. But I am paying for open bar at dinner (7-10) and at the beach (10-11).
  5. DominicanAlly, I get outrageous shipping quotes from minimis too. Did you also have to pay any duty once they shipped?
  6. Update: I was referred to a tailor who specializes in wedding dresses and does alterations for 4 bridal shops in Edmonton. Her quote was $120! Whohoo! Shame on the dress shop tailor for gouging brides!
  7. You don't have to submit the seating plan until much closer to the date. Maybe if you wait a few months you can get the names of some brides on here, to meet your numbers ;-)
  8. If anyone is only getting digital copies of their wedding photos rather than prints, you may be interested in this company: http://www.canvaspalette.com/ I got a groupon (or team buy, something like that), for this company and ordered the 16x20 canvas print of one of our engagement shots. It came out amazing!!!! I am so impressed with it! I'm sure that I will order more for my wedding prints. If anyone sees another deal for CanvasPalette please let me know!!! In the mean time, I just bought a groupon for CanvasPop, and I will test them out too with my wedding pictures. For reference, I paid $39 for the Canvas Pallete, and $39 for Canvas pop, each for a 16x20 framed canvas print. The groupon is still available for Canvas Pop if anyone is interested.
  9. What about something destination themed, like an embroidered Beach Towel? Travel mug? Baseball cap? floatie?
  10. Hmm if its the burlap ones that I am thinking of, then I don't think they would hold a stamp. They have canvas ones that would though!
  11. The total for 100 mugs was $264.00 I think shipping was 60 and duty was 30.
