  1. My friend just posted this online and I thought it was super cute in case anyone is looking for a save-the-date
  2. Oh Ooops haha the pic hadn't loaded when I posted that before. I got the mugs from Factory 21 on ebay.
  3. For me It is a LOT cheaper, which is pretty much the only reason I'm doing it. Plus I can't bring real ones back to Canada after anyways and these ones I can keep. I think thats the big reason for many brides too. I made my bouquet for $100. I donno what the resort florist charges to upgrade but I've heard that it is a lot (around 200). I probably would have been fine with the resort standard one but would have had to order bridesmaids ones anyways and didn't want to pay any delivery fees (and Ive heard that the florist is kind of a shit head and I dont want to support them haha). I bought my bridesmaids for $8 each, and the resort florist wants around 60 each (and there are 3 of them). I will likely make my own groomsmen bouttoneires too since resort charges 18$ a piece. But I'm not a real flower person. It blows my mind that people spend several thousand on flowers in Jamaica!
  4. If anyone is looking for bags with toppers... I've heard a lot of people going through vistaprint which is great, but this is cool too. I got them at staples, and they are Avery bags. I got 40 for $8 (on sale). You custom print the tops and it comes with the bags. I obviously haven't mastered adjusting the printer, but I think they will be perfect for the smaller parts of my wedding favour for the guests.
  5. Sears has nice ones on right now for 2.50 each! nice metal outsides with black plastic inside. Originally $10 each but its Sears Days. (found in Edmonton Southgate location)
  6. Congrats to you! I am getting married in Iberostar Rose Hall Beach in Montego Bay on Jan 20, 2013! I think that January is going to really sneak up on me! It's coming so fast!
  7. I have a big crowd, but only 4-5 single people of each gender. I was thinking of telling everyone to catch the bouquet, regardless of if they are married, and whoever catches it gets a prize. I don't think people will be bored. Clearly these people are close to you, and they will be happy to see you do all the little traditions. I think people get more bored in big groups where they can't see everything and often cant hear everything that's going on. I'm a big game person, and we often play games with our friends. I don't know if you're drinkers, but we often play a game in which any time someone says a certain word then they have to do a shot. Our most common words are, for example, if they say a number, or if they say 'yes' or 'no', or if they say anyone's name. It keeps people on their toes and often gets a lot of laughs. For first dance, I would just do it in front of your small group. I am sure that they will not be bored! You could always edit your song to make it shorter if you're concerned about it lasting too long. I do like idea posted above, about going somewhere special for the night. I've heard of lots of people going on late night cruises or dinner shows, and I think it's a great idea! Good luck!
  8. I may add that that quote is for 35 people, so smaller groups may cost more.
  9. This is the tour company. The website kind of sucks but they've been fast to respond to emails Daina Taxi & Tours Jamaica Montego Bay P.O.#2 St. James Jamaica W.I. Tel: (1876) 893-7950 Email:[email protected] http://www.dainataxitoursjamaica.com/ My mom went last year on a cruise and said they were great. It's kind of scary giving your money overseas in advance, but she said they showed up at the cruise ship, took 12 of them on a day long tour, and it was great!
  10. Im wondering about excursions too! I got a quote from a tour company that my mom used herlast time in Jamaica. $68 per person for bus, guided tour of Dunns, stop for lunch, guided tour of White river, and cliff jumping in the white river, shopping, and bus home. Any idea if this is a good price? Any idea how much it i through the resort?
  11. Lolasmom71, I can't believe you haven't gotten all the paperwork at 2 months out!!! I dont know why they just don't send it to you when you get the confirmation papers! I wanted to have all my planning done before I started back in school, and these would have made it so much easier than just looking for details on here in random places!
  12. For everyone's info, here is the information I was recently emailed from the Beach, in preparation of my final wedding details. I wish they gave this to me when I booked! But it is very helpful! Good luck! 13. The package of 100 came in two large boxes of 50 mugs. I think that it will take about a full large suitcase for each box of 50. I believe the UPS tag said it was 17 pounds for each box of 50.
  14. I found mine! Very simple, but chunky and catches the light very well. The Crystals are lovely, although you can't tell well in the pictures.
  15. I was at Tim Hortons yesterday and they have the plastic mugs similar to the ones I got from Factory 21 (post above this) for $4 a piece. I think its a really good price if you want need like 100 of them, and since they are Tim Horton's it's kind of like bringing a little piece of Canada down with you. They looked very nice. The metal ones were much more expensive, but I've tried having fruity drinks out of metal before and it's a big mistake haha.
  16. Oh forgot to say that if we want extra time then we will pay for that too, but I haven't asked how much lol
