  1. We are keeping the date of our legal wedding to ourselves to keep this from happening too. I understand what it is like to have an overbearing future MIL, so I would have your fiance let her know that you do not want anyone there and there are no ifs, ands or buts about it.
  2. I did and so far, so good. I just made sure that everything was processed on the Paypal end and made them email me to verify that they had received the payment, then printed hard copies of all of those documents.
  3. I would love to see pictures. I'm sure it is doable, so I may just look for some tutorials online.
  4. I have a US Airways card that gave me bonus points for signing up and you can shop through the US Airways storefront to earn points with any online purchases. I also have a Marriott Rewards card and was able to transfer points from that to my US Airways account.
  5. I agree. Who needs a wedding magazine when you have brides who have actually lived through planning, hosting, and enjoying a destination wedding?!
  6. I'm stressed about flowers. I really don't want to spend money for the resort's flowers, but it sounds like a lot of the outside vendors aren't great about communicating. Right now I think I may just buy some real touch stems and put together bouquets myself.
  7. Great tips! It all adds up so fast and it is hard to not just buy stuff whenever I see it.
  8. We put them on our website and are using them in a guest book at the reception!
  9. I'm hoping to do some of these as well! How long before the wedding would you recommend having them taken?
  10. I just bought a plain white suite from Victoria's Secret during their last semi-annual sale.
  11. I am using DJ Mannia and Juan Navarro as well. Can't wait to hear how everything goes!
  12. I find the planning threads to be so helpful, so I thought I would start one of my own and will start at the beginning. We have all the big things taken care of but I'm going to continue to work on the details over the next few months. My fiance surprised me with a proposal on Leap Year Day and we spent the first few weeks just enjoying our engagement. After a while, we decided a Destination Wedding would be the best choice for us because all of our family and friends are spread out all over the US. (We live in WV, went to college in OH, I grew up in NY, he grew up in 4 states). After deciding on Mexico due to the ease of travel and familiarity for most people, we started researching resorts. We knew we wanted a true reception and many resorts only offered a la carte reception options. I "attended" an online seminar through bestdestinationwedding.com and fell in love with the Now Resorts. We decided on Now Sapphire because they had availability on the day we wanted. So we got in touch with Wright Travel Agency and sent out Save the Dates. to be continued...
  13. So many great ideas, I should probably start stocking up - I just have no clue about how many people are actually going to be attending
  14. So much inspiration, may need to make my own bridesmaid bouquets, so this is very helpful!
  15. I was planning on flats, but I really want to add some height, and I'm planning on trying to sell my dress after the wedding, so I'm worried about hemming it to fit my 5'2" height in flats. :-( I'm wondering if wedges will actually work.
